And we're at the end (for now...) ladies and gentlemen! Evermore - such a great album that has to grow on you just like folklore. But luckily, my first listen of evemore was so much better than folklore's - which is why I gravitated to it much more. But now both have grown on me so much so now I'm not even sure which one I prefer. But I adore the slightly brighter feel of this album. (though there are still some sad ass songs smh)

17. evermore (feat. Bon Iver) - Yeah... This wasn't going to be dead last in my rankings until a recent event that kind of traumatized me and this song was playing. I just can't stand to hear this song anymore :( Sorry. (I did use to like it though... but it's progressively become lower and lower on my rankings)
16. champagne problems - Unpopular opinion part 131313... I don't hate this song but I DO find it overrated by fans. I dislike the chorus, idk why I just DON'T like it, the way she sings it bothers me. I like the verses though, and the bridge? Absolutely the best part, the bridge is DEFINITELY what makes the song worth it for me. (I also like the cute little outro, I found it kinda playful actually lmao)
15. 'tis the damn season - This one took a bit to grow on me! It's still not a TOP tier track, but I appreciate it a lot. The alt-rock-like guitar got me shook at first! But yeah, it's definitely a song I'd find myself playing from time to time.
14. happiness - This was actually my least fave on first listen! But it grew on me so much. I love the maturity in the song, and the "peaceful" but effective instrumentation is also really nice. Very soothing and pleasant to listen to.
13. tolerate it - Oh god, the first time I heard this, I somehow paid attention to every single lyric and emotion, and it REALLY got to me for some reason. She has this thing where she makes you feel her words. I love the melodies in this one though, it REALLY makes me feel things. And her vocals here are absolutely g o r g e o u s.
12. ivy - How does she manage to make a song about a love affair so beautiful and nice?! But yeah, this one ALSO had to grow on me, and it for sure did! There's so many details here that I love!! But definitely the best part for me would be the bridge and the "second part" of the chorus, along with the outro. Idk it's COMPLICATED to explain! Also, I did notice at first how this song sounds a lot like "invisible string" but with both growing on me a lot, I've come to appreciate them in different ways.
11. marjorie - This is so so beautiful, but it also kind of makes me sad :( Songs about passed away closed ones always get to me. Again, it has that super gentle yet effective instrumental that I love.
10. it's time to go - Damn, as of recently I learned who this song is about... I didn't even know Tay isn't friends with her anymore! Anyway, VERY underrated song. I love this song so much, it again has that "peaceful" vibe but it has that punch to it. And I just LOVE it when she introduces more instrumentation further on in the song. Also, it's absolutely the perfect closer to this album in my opinion!
9. coney island (feat. The National) - UNDERRATED! Taylor is obviously the highlight of this song - I just love how she sings every part of this. The National vocalist himself? I have to be in the mood for him, BUT Taylor absolutely makes this song special. I love the sombre yet pleasant feeling this song has though, I tend to replay it quite a bit!
8. dorothea - The way this JUMPED from last place to much higher! I used to not like this at all (I was especially annoyed when some ppl blogged the lyrics of this for no reason). But honestly... I relistened a few times, and I absolutely LOVE the vibe this has, and her vocals are SO good, they progressively get more enticing in the song! However, I'm still not certain what this song is about. At first I thought it was just a "comforting" song for some girl in another city. But then it's.. kind of not that? Idk!
7. right where you left me - LOOK this ain't top 5 but I SURE as hell enjoy this song, and it has grown on me so much! I love how she sings that chorus SO much, give me those goddamn high notes queen.
6. cowboy like me - This song is structured SO so interestingly, and I. adore. it. I love how it flows from one part to another, and they all sound SLIGHTLY different but in the perfect way, that it makes you feel something. I really do sing along to this song when it comes on...
5. long story short - This one is so cute, I loveeeee it. I don't have much to say on it, it's an easy fave for me really. I love the fast-pacedness of this, and I enjoy the GROWTH she exudes here, that's all I gotta say. (and the way she sings "Long story short I survi-ived" is SO good ugh)
4. closure - Quite a bit of y'all will MALD at this being high, but I don't care! This song is EPIC, it's so unique and interesting. I did not expect it at ALL when I first heard it! I goddamn love that machine-breaking sound effect, and I love the weird "flow" of her vocals too. Plus, a jab at youknowwho done in such a powerful yet calm way? Duh! I'll note one thing though, I saw someone on twitter saying that her accent in the chorus became british, and I can't not notice it now LMAO... So random but queen!
3. willow - Absolutely iconic, perfect "sequel" to cardigan (single-wise and video-wise). Such a beautiful song that has something so captivating to it, that even my mother fell in love with this song! I also love singing along to the lyrics - life was a willow and it bent right to your wind...
2. gold rush - This song is AMAZING, it's like a journey. It goes into different parts/melodies/instruments, but it does it so smoothly. Every part to me is perfect, I ABSOLUTELY love the choir-like part though. Queen of wanting her man to herself, and queen of referencing folklore! And its length? Perfect, it makes me want to replay it over and over!
1. no body, no crime (feat. HAIM) - Oh we're killing men yeehaw style, and I LOVE it! I was absolutely enamored by this song from the first listen. Easily my favourite from this album. I LOVE love love the storytelling here, I love the vocals provided by HAIM (although Taylor's the queen of giving bg vocals to women..), and I just adore the fact that Taylor can paint such a vivid picture in my head. And the crickets chirping at the end?! QUEEN of details, I hope y'all pay attention to that shit!! (idk why I'm going crazy over crickets chirping sounds..)

We're SO close to the end girlies! Ah, folklore... Such an intricate and special album of hers, a GRAMMY winner, that is. This album is truly amazing, this took me SO long to grow on me... but it finally did. My first listen was really hard actually, I started zoning out/falling asleep towards the last 4-5 songs sksksksk, but now? I enjoy this body of work so much. With each listen, I just discover more things I notice and realise about these songs. There's SO so so many things to appreciate here. If you don't like this album, I understand because I was in your position, but damn... The 180 honestly. I swear, this album is more than just a slow folk album, there's DETAILS and layers in everything. This woman is amazing, how she got this out in less than a year after Lover is still a shock to me.

17. hoax - Alright... easy least favourite =/ This is truly the only song on the album that has never grown on me or changed positions. I do NOT like that piano at all, it bothers me for some reason. I'm not a fan of the melodies either, and I'm.. just not crazy about anything really. But folklore is a huge mystery, this could goddamn grow on me one day LMAO.

16. betty - Alright now, don't kill me... Lol OK so I don't dislike this at all, not by any means, BUT.. I tend to play this not as much! And honestly, I feel like it's because the song ITSELF bothers me, like the "character" singing it bothers me? Like I imagine that greasy fuck James singing this and idk, it feels icky. Plus I do feel like the song is a LITTLE long! But on the positive side, I do enjoy the instrumentation by itself on certain parts!!
15. peace - I actually like this one, it's not a fave for sure but I can appreciate it. Again, there are some details in the production which I really love here. But there are SOME melodies here that I'm not crazy about... Maybe this will take a few more months for me to climb up my rankings?
14. the last great american dynasty (馃槶) - This actually used to be much higher but the more I listened to folklore, the more my rankings changed and I found appreciation for other songs. This song is really cute, it was a fave of mine at one point but as I said, I tend to listen to the others a bit more! Still love the storytelling here though. And that bridge DUH!! (jsyk I'm really sad this is so low)
13. the 1 - I remember when folklore dropped and 2 of my friend were dragging this one... for WHAT?? This is such a good opener, and I was so impressed when I heard it! This also just fits my mood/vibe nowadays.
12. mirrorball - This song is so interesting to me!! Literally 2-3 months ago this was in my bottom 2, and now it grew on me so suddenly.. It's amazing honestly. I love the vibe this song gives. I adore so many things that I just can't explain - the magic of folklore. But I love the "main sentiment" of the song - I'm a mirrorball, I'll show you every version of yourself.
11. invisible string - ANOTHER grower! This song is just a beautiful song, both lyrically and sonically. That switch in the melody in the bridge is just to die for. My only VERY small nitpick-critique is the "p-p-pink skies" part, but other than that, I love everything, e.g. how she sings "all along there was some invisible string". It's the little things that make the song so special and beautiful.
10. exile (feat. Bon Iver) - One of the songs that went up and down and up and down for me... But thank GOD I opened up my ears to it again lately, and it's actually because of the long pond studio sessions which were great. I love the emotion conveyed here, and how they're going back and forth.. I love both their voice but I DEFINITELY prefer Taylor (duh), she's just so amazing and gentle with her delivery.
9. mad woman - Damn, the way this was my fave on first listen, then it became my least fave.. and now my love for it came back LMAO, this album is truly something. What truly got me to love this song again, apart from the AMAZING production/chord progression, is the amazing verses. I love how she sings, I love her vengeful side, and I just love how the instrumentation becomes slightly more "intense" towards the end.
8. my tears ricochet - This one grew on me so much. Again, the DETAILS are mesmerizing, but what really made this song for me is the lyrical content and subject. The battleships will sink, and Scooter WILL be sinking. I love Taylor for carrying out such an attitude with such a gentle delivery. Hope "he" enjoys her stolen lullabies 鉂わ笍
7. the lakes - A song with a PERFECT length and perfect progression! No unnecessary pauses imo, and it flows rather quickly, which I love. This one has the essential folklore sound but also has a nice structure which you can actually follow, and it has that "rise" that Taylor does in her choruses or melodies. And the lyrics are TRUE poetry, this girl's mind...
6. seven - This is a song that makes me go 馃ズ, it's just a super super sweet song, like a warm hug. I actually used to have this lower too at one point, and I realized it's because of the "SWEET TEA IN THE SUMMER!!!11" part, BUT because the rest of the song is so so strong and beautiful and gentle, it just... took me over. I love it, it takes me to a beautiful place that I wish I were in.
5. illicit affairs - I. Love. This. Underrated. Gem. The way I get THEATRICAL when this comes on! This was probably the first song that massively grew on me. It's just so simple yet SO so effective, again, hear the details in the production with your best headphones/earphones, and it makes the experience so much better. And the passion she exudes while singing this.. ugh.
4. epiphany - Nononono y'all don't understand, y'all underrate this SO MUCH, and it hurts. This song is... truly something else. The ethereal and beautiful and heavenly feeling... And the picturesque lyrics, I just enjoy this song so much. I literally belt out HOLD ME 20 SECONDS TO SLEEP, BUT YOU DREAM OF SOME EPIIIIIPHANYYYYYY, like... this song actually means a lot to me without me necessarily relating to the lyrics. But the experience of it... an amazing heavenly experience.
3. this is me trying - If you told 2020 me that this song would be so high, I would be like "???"... I swear, I HEARD something in this. I love everything about it, she has some sort of interesting flow in the way she sings her (amazing ass) lyrics, and I DIE for it. Like, this bitch really made a slow-ish song that I can sing along in the shower. Idk I love it, and I think the length for it is also perfect.
2. august - Now, this is for SURE a song that has been a fave of mine since the first day. The progression of the song is beautiful, and the vibe is just so GOOD, it gives me a "sunny car ride in the countryside" feel. And the outro IS truly the cherry on top, just... whew. And I also love how this has the essential Taylor "feel"/sound to it, Getaway Car ladies amirite?!
1. cardigan - Gorgeous, beautiful, spectacular. This song is absolutely enchanting and mesmerizing, her matured voice is just like honey... I love the metaphors and lyrics here too, imagine making someone feel special, someone who felt like some neglected cardigan, and then taking that "loved" feeling away from them... Also the DETAILS and intricacies in the production of this song!!! Absolutely ages like fine wine, and with each listen, you appreciate this gem so much more.

18. London Boy - Easy bottom! This is the only song I don't enjoy from the album. It's SO cringy and childish, I liked it in the beginning but now it's just a no for me. I skip every time.
17. Soon You'll Get Better (feat. The Chicks) - Tbh I used to skip this one too because it's too sad/not something with replay value... But I've recently found love for it too, it has this "peaceful" vibe to it which I actually enjoy. My favourite part is actually that bridge, we been knew that Taylor is the queen of bridges!
16. Lover - Ugh ok, I do love this song, but I feel like in general I tend to play it a bit less than the rest, maybe because of its "particular" vibe. Plus sonically it's quite different from a lot of the album LOL, but I still sing along and I enjoy this song, I DEFF do!
15. I Forgot That You Existed - It's a cute bop!! I do remember kind of being taken aback (for some reason) by its sound when I first heard it LOL. I love the frivolous vibe this has.
14. Cornelia Street - It's such an iconic song tbh, I didn't use to love it but it definitely grew on me. Sadly it's not as high because I love too many songs here! Plus, I MAY find myself sometimes not in the mood for this one.
13. Paper Rings - LOL I can't believe this was the one song I hated on release day! Idk why I hated it, but it grew on me so much. It's so fun, uplifting and absolutely adorable!
12. The Archer - Honestly I do know lots of people tend to ignore/overlook this song... But it also grew on me gradually and massively since 2019. There's something so beautiful and nice and even "reflective" to it. I love the pulsating but subtle instrumental, I love the feel, I love love love that chorus, gets stuck in my head! I also love the bridge-chorus-outro, just truly a WELL composed song!
11. You Need to Calm Down - Oh a lot of you hate this one.. But to be fair, I actually still enjoy this one! It has such a bold thumping beat, and it's just so bright and colourful in a pleasant (for me) way!
10. ME! (feat. Brendon Urie of Panic! At the Disco) - Y'all will LYNCH me for this LMAOOOOOOO. Honestly, paul028 DID ruin this iconic track (btw his blogs are all a show, he's fake). But seriously, this song is SO campy and fun and bright, I just smile whenever it comes on, I sing along and have FUN! Something a lot of you can't have! IDC, it ain't supposed to be a masterpiece, it's GOOD fun.
9. Daylight - Beautiful song, beautiful closer. I do tend to sadly sometimes overlook it, but I quickly remember its gorgeous instrumentation and imagery!
8. Death By A Thousand Cuts - This song is SO unique, like I've never heard an instrumental/bg vocals like this. I do tend to overlook this one SOMETIMES, but when I don't... I remember how spectacular it is, I sing the fuck out of that bridge!
7. It's Nice To Have A Friend - UNDERRATED. Absolutely unique and interesting. At first I didn't get it, but I got it more with each listen! I love the details, the choir, the simple instrumentation, the storytelling... Truly an enchanting song.
6. Cruel Summer - Absolutely, truly an AMAZING song, amazing production, chord progression, summery vibe... It's so perfect. And I LOVE her vocal delivery, especially on that bridge!!! Bitch growled at the "devil" part! (also this is definitely a song that DESERVES its love and hype...)
5. Afterglow - I've always loved this one, but never really had much to say about it. It's just that easy to love song that I don't need to explain? I love everything about it, production is superb, and the EVOLUTION in her personality/lyrics! Queen of admitting her mistakes!
4. I Think He Knows - I've stanned this BOP since the album's release! This goes OFF, I love her subtle freakiness and that bombastic instrumental. I just have so so much fun with this one, truly never a dull moment!
3. Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince - I swear this album is PACKED with so many amazing songs. This was my #1 when the album dropped, I was S H O O K. A literal perfection. Gorgeous production and song overall! And tbh this song does give me "school saga" or something vibes, and the "cheerful" background vocals and lyrics do help that too! Her mind...
2. False God - I honestly did not expect to put this one THIS high... but does it deserve it? Oh yes. This song is a WHOLE vibe... I can't describe how much this has grown on me and how much I love this. Instrumentation is so delicate, airy, gorgeous, yet perfect. I love its placement on the tracklist so much too, the previous AND the next song are good with it (imo at least). I actually love the interesting metaphors/similes she uses in the pre-chorus/chorus too...
1. The Man - LEGEND energy, QUEEN status here. This has officially become one of my favourite Taylor songs of all time, and if you disagree, you can suck a FAT dick! This song has EVERYTHING I love... attitude, calling out the double standards, dope instrumental, Taylor saying "bitch(es)", iconic moments/memories attached to it... Just the full package, I LOVE love love this song so much.
