So if anything, this theme just showed that 2021 had some damn good music. I liked most of the submissions, so if your song is in the lower 3rd, don't think that I hated it. Typically, I like to give comments for each song...but with 44 songs
So I will reveal the top and bottom 3 (with comments), the winner, and which two will be up for elimination.
#txashaun: Leave the Door Open - This is one of, if not my favorite Silk Sonic songs. It’s just full of so much soul. Bruno and Anderson really complement each other well.
#computer3000: Introvert - I know you joked about being cruel by submitting a 6 minute song, but I love this song. When I saw you post it, it was kind of hard biting my tongue and not letting you know how much I enjoy it. I genuinely love everything about this song: the lyrics, her flow, the instrumentation and arrangement. Like I truly believe this is art personified.
#Thnksfrthmmrs : Monsters - Honestly, you shouldn’t be at the bottom based on this song because I did enjoy it overall. I’m generally one for themes being open to interpretation, but this round had pretty specific criteria. Unfortunately, this version with Demi was released at the end of 2020. I’m sorry man =(
#StraightLoonie: Be Sweet - This is a definite bop. From the get go, the bass really pops off and doesn’t let up. All the elements of the song really work together. Thanks for introducing me to this bop.
#Voila: GOOD PUSS - So I respect you submitting a song that fits your taste because that’s what this game is all about. But FromAWindow was not joking when he said I don’t like this song. The beat is just ok, and her voice is annoying. The last 30 seconds are the best part of the song because at least something interesting starts to happen with the track. I get why people like this song, but it just isn’t my vibe.
#Maxi123: Rockland - So at first, I wasn’t really feeling this song. It just felt disjointed and the pacing of the melody was super weird. But the second half of the song was a lot better because it flowed much better. I loved her voice, but it really was the strange pacing in the beginning that killed it for me.
And the winner of Episode 1 is...

#computer3000. I also voted Introvert to win song of the year in TSC, so I definitely think very highly of this song. It's so so good. Congrats on the win!
Which mean #Voila...you are also safe as this is a non elimination round. I typically like giving people a free round so I can learn more about their music taste and hate eliminating people right from the get go. Plus it's Christmas, so I'm feeling generous. Next round someone actually will be eliminated.
Round 2 Theme: Pursuit of Happiness
As much as I really want to do a Christmas theme, I know that's not everyone's jam. So instead, I want a song that makes you feel happy and joyous every time you listen to it.
So again, please submit one song for the theme and one song as a free choice. Since it's the holidays, I'll close submissions on the 27th and will send reminders before doing so.

Well this got a lot bigger than anticipated, but thank you all for signing up. I'm usually a bit extra with these write ups, but I'm gonna keep it short and sweet this time around. We have a lot of ground to cover with 20+ contestants. Since we have such a big cast, I may sprinkle in some random double and triple eliminations. That said, let's get to the first theme.
Round 1 Theme: Song of the Year
With the year almost over, I want to hear what you believe to be the best song of 2021.
Reminder that you will submit two songs: one song for the theme and one free choice song that can be anything you want that will be used in the event you are up for elimination. If there are any questions, let me know. Good luck! This will close when the blog expires.

I have no fun title right now, but it's time for yet another music game. I'm reviving Tim's music game for a 3rd season.
Each round, contestants will submit two songs. One song will follow a theme provided by yours truly, and the second song will be a free choice. I will rank the themed songs and the free choice songs. The person who submits the best themed song will win the round, while the bottom two will be up for elimination. I will rank each free choice song and out of the bottom two from the themed round, the contestant with the with worst song will be eliminated.
There will be some guest judges throughout the season, but overall this should be pretty low key. Just submit songs that you enjoy, and if you have any questions, send me a message. I'll be accepting contestants until I feel like I have enough.
