Season Titled, 'Retribution' (Part Seven of Ten): Episode Seven: "Trial By Fire"

--Act One--

Lady Chandler rests within her confined Quarters, remaining still and restless in her own manner. Before her stands Sir Anthony who bows his head in silence.

Lady Chandler: (Refusing his company) "I don't need your sympathy
Sir Anthony: "Then I won't give it"
Lady Chandler: "Great, then do leave me in peace"

Sir Anthony shakes his head, closing the door behind him before taking to Chandler's side.

Sir Anthony: "You can't carry on like this, My Lady" he pleads to her.
Lady Chandler: (Disagreeing) " . . ."
Lady Chandler: "Four times in the past two weeks. I haven't even had chance to mourn my dearly departed Mother"
Sir Anthony: "It's a malicious attack, I need you to be stronger than you're"
Lady Chandler: "And do what? Reject my King, My Father. A fate worse than death"
Sir Anthony: "You're not dying this way either"
Lady Chandler: (Chuckling to herself) "So you think" a smile forming upon her face.
Sir Anthony: "How do you mean?"
Lady Chandler: "For every time my Father decides to fuck his own daughter, a small piece of me dies with it. Eventually nothing will be left but a mere corpse for him to shag like a cloth on his dining room table. I may be alive but my conscious dies long before then. I refuse to be impregnated by a beast" she orders her authority, bowing her head once more.

Sir Anthony stares at Lady Chandler with great sadness, pulling himself closer to lean in, taking her by the shoulder and wrapping himself around her.

Lady Chandler: (With little Understanding) "Why do you care so much?" She asks her Knight.
Sir Anthony: "For I cannot lose one of the only pure things that are left within this City" he smiles delightfully.

Lady Chandler embraces his smile, falling back upon his shoulder as she remains by his side. The two partners now sharing these few moments together awaiting for King Noah's next warranting meeting with his Daughter.

Elsewhere, within the Castle Dungeons rests Iris who sits within her rags, little speech coming from her mouth but rambling that makes no translation. Across from her, Lady Hali sits within her confined spaces, sealed within her own dungeon as she tugs at chunks of bread.

Lady Hali: "Your the Witch I hear?" she asks, intrigued by Iris' presence.

Iris makes no attempt of communication, only prayers to her Gods for her safe guarding.

Lady Hali: "There's no God" (Disapproving Iris) "Not for what he's bringing upon us"

Lady Hali pulls herself closer to the bars, an arching corridor separating their Dungeons.

Lady Hali: "I don't fear you" (Her eyes glow, shimmering in the darkness) "I respect you"
Iris: (Her scarlet hair being pushed back as she stares blankly at Hali)
Lady Hali: "My names Hali, whats yours?" she sits, a cheerful smile upon her face.
Iris: "Hali? . . ." Iris pauses.
Iris: "Tell me, how long have you been down here?"
Lady Hali: "About a day before you arrived!" she giggles, seemingly lost in her own thoughts.
Iris: "Hali, Is that Correct?" Her mind twitches, staring upon the girl ahead.
Lady Hali: "Yes Ma'am, I mean . . ." she shakes her head, tapping at herself once more.

Iris' face saddens, watching Hali's mind fizzle away as her head leans back once more, showing signs of deep remorse and regret, thus currently unknown as to why she shows these signs for Hali herself.
As the two drift away from their Conversation, the sounds of oncoming marching from the King's Guard is heard, only Hali's words reigning through.

Lady Hali: "I think they're here for you" she points, her bread within her hand as she bites into it, a cheerful smile resting upon her hardened face.

--Act Two--

In the Libraries within the Castle's Keep, Queen Jennifer remains fixated in the books of Ellesm茅ra. She reads upon biographies, enchantments along with history upon exiled beings and previous Queens. Within these books speaks of the Reppingtal's and the Lurell's, along with associates from the Boleyns and other Houses connected to them. It reads of their exile and various execution methods. The reason behind her sudden research remains unknown as Lady Lauren enters in a bid of frustration.

Lady Lauren: (Startling Jennifer) "Jennifer!"

Queen Jennifer slams her hand against several books, closing them upon her Cousin's entrance.

Lady Lauren: "What have you got here?" she smiles, tugging at a few of the books.
Queen Jennifer: (Forcefully taking them into her hand)
Queen Jennifer: "How's Grandfather?" she asks with concern.
Lady Lauren: (Frowning) "You, Grandfather, Randall!" she sighs.
Queen Jennifer: "It's to be expected Lauren?"
Lady Lauren: "Yes, but we hold higher authority. How can we be in any possible danger?"
Lady Lauren: "The words of some old hag is going to scare a tremendous beast such as Marcus?"

She chuckles.

Lady Lauren: "I think not!" (Taking the books from Jennifer)
Queen Jennifer: "Open your eyes and smell the shit when its right infront of you Lauren!" (She angers)
Lady Lauren: "Alright . . ." (She disapproves of her cousins anger)
Queen Jennifer: "This is real . . . If anything happens Lauren I need you to take Aston as far as you can, away from all this" she pleads.
Lady Lauren: (Watching in envy) "Of Course, his all of our priority"

Queen Jennifer leans in, pressing her lips upon her Cousin's forehead before leaving, Lady Lauren's silk hair folding down into curls upon her purple dress before running her hand upon the books left behind.

Fei: (Entering cautiously) "Can I get you anything Madam?" she asks politely.
Lady Lauren: (Smiling to her guest) "Come, come . . . I'm not your Queen, I won't bite"
Fei: (Timidly entering upon Request) "I understand, My Lady but she has every right . . ."
Lady Lauren: "You shagged her husband, of course she had every right!" (Laughing alongside Fei)
Fei: (Bowing her head in shame)
Lady Lauren: "But I know what a cruel bastard that man can be, our Queen may not be able to forgive you but I can assure you that you will always have an ally in me my sweet girl. If you ever feel broken or in need of someone to speak too, just call my name. I promise you I will always be there for when you need me" Lauren Promises, Fei noticing this kind gesture as she accepts.

--Act Three--

Within the masses of crowds gathering at the gates of Ellesm茅ra, a large wooden structure stands above the blooming crowds. Below, several faces emerge to witness the burning of acclaimed Witch, Iris Sinclair whos name strikes fear into the bewildered spectacle. In the Crowds, Lady Lauren is escorted into the Royal Stands where she takes a seat beside the King's Son, Prince Paulie who gazes in excitement.

Prince Paulie: (Joyful) "Wonderful day for a burning!" he claps with delight.

A shaken Lauren becomes slightly on edge due to the young boys excitement. Lady Lauren's face slowly drifting, becoming slightly uncertain whether the method of burning should be used as an execution for such prisoners.

However, along the gravel road that sets from the Castle's Dungeons and out into the flourishing streets bestows a frail Iris who turns in her rags, rejoicing to the onslaught of the Citizens of Ellesm茅ra. She reigns pity for herself, her head bowing upon the thrown livestock that pummels her face with dark colors. Her hair remains thin like straw, folded over upon her shoulder whilst maintaining a dark brown sack that hangs broadly from her shoulders.
She soon arrives, the screaming crowds behind her mocking her for what she has become. She is helped upon the platform, jagged planks of wood cutting through her rags and exposing her pale skin. She turns with dignity, maintaining the fear that rests within her eyes before strapping her hands around the wooden pole. She stares out, gazing upon the Royal Stands where King Noah and Queen Jennifer both await with their families beside them.
Sir Anthony pulls the final knots into place, standing at the forefront of the stake as he bows to his King, departing from the structure as the executioners await.

From his Stand, King Noah stands tall, Queen Jennifer riddled with remorse as she sits with posture beside her Husband.

King Noah: "Today, Ellesm茅ra was granted with our final act. Long before our City came to be we were plagued with Witches, Mythical Beasts and Dragons scorching and turning our City into chaos. However, from this day forward I here by claim that no more will come to us! Not a single citizen of Ellesm茅ra will be fearful of what they will bring. These beasts will be extinct and we will reign again! For today! . . ." (Proudly stating) "We will BURN THE WITCH!"

The crowd roars upon his words. Iris visibly shaken from their excitement, only few being left uncertain upon the choices being made.

King Noah: "Any last words?" he asks graciously, Iris bowing her head in pity.

She reflects upon her mind, her eye socket burning red with soars as the gaping hole is roasted in the sunlight. She nods, lifting her head high above the crowd, reaching far across the crowds.

Iris: "I have no words . . . Just pity and respect. I saw what is to come, I saw what was to come. I'm proud to say that I had the chance to change that. I am proud to say that I was the one, the bringer of death. I chose a pure future, for pure minds. I will not watch as those innocents fall. Everyone will soon reflect upon my words and here my words, those who have wronged will be corrected . . . No matter how long they wait" She stares greatly into King Noah's eyes from a far.

King Noah frowns, the Crowd growing stronger upon their demands. With his order, he waves his hand in the air once more, enacting the Execution as his Wife lowers herself in her throne.
Lady Lauren, turning whilst Prince Paulie captures in desire.

Iris: "May God have mercy upon my soul" she whispers solemnly to her own.
Executioner: "There isn't no God for where your going" a brave soul stands below, a flaming torch within his hand.
Iris: "Oh I think differently, Oh let it be" she laughs with excitement.

The executioner relentlessly drops the flaming torch upon the piles. The blazes setting alight, the Crowd all pushing back at the incredibly high flames that cascade towards a brave Iris. She stares at her shimmering reflection, an envious smile upon her face as the flames begin to engulf her.
The flames climb high, her deathly screams enchanting the skies whilst fragments of her rags flicker into dust, slowly drifting upon the crowds. All that remains, upon the pile is the burning corpse of Iris.

The Crowd's die down, Queen Jennifer sitting within her throne captivated by Iris' words. She stares upon the flames as the Royal Stands are evacuated. She takes her Husbands arm, beginning to depart.

However, upon the exit of the river of crowds flowing across the City a dark smoke rises from the ashes. In the dying sun, this smoke begins to drift across the streets, sweeping through the air and riding the wind up towards the Castle Grounds. It rests momentously, gazing upon an open window before drifting towards it, peering inside to a restless Chandler who sleeps in her own confined space. The dark smoke enters the room, covering the body of an unaware Chandler before falling upon her. All seems well, however Chandler soon awakens in a fit of shock, her eyes peering open as her blue eyes stare blankly at the room ahead, until her eyes begin to fill with darkness, her body becoming still her eyes fixated in one position, covered in black smoke that lingers upon them.
