Episode Nine: "The Blood within My Veins"
::Opening Scene::
"Ethan, if you're hearing this I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for whats to come. I've tried to hard . . . I really have. I don't want to amount any disappointment from you, Jade, anyone. I just want to rest. I'm tired. I'm so tired. I don't know how much more I can take"
A girl weeps.
Ethan stares blankly upon the screen, watching a sorrowful Venelope break down infront of him with nothing but the disks laid out across the oak wood table.
Venelope (Computer): "There's something you should know. Something of what is to come. I want you to know because I trust you, I don't want vengeance Ethan I just want publicity. Make it known what they did to me . . . Make it known that they killed me."
Ethan's face falls, his face turns pale as his stomach churns. His eyes fixated upon a wheezy Venelope who holds up the first disc.
::Scene One::
As her eyes blur in the dashing sunlight, Jade awakens as she lays spread across the wooden flooring. Her hair breaks down into chunks as she grips at her torn shirt, gasping for air in small amounts before tugging herself up to see a bandage wrapped firmly around her stomach.
???: "It's healing. I managed to stitch you up and remove the bullet" a voice quakes.
Jade's body seizes to function as she just rests upon some old furniture that lays bare in the worn out room.
From the shadows, Addison rummages holding a small plate of fruit and nuts within her hand.
Jade: "Who are you? . . ." she questions.
Jade: "Where am I?!" Jade begins panicking as Addison soothes her.
Addison: "This is my home. My parents aren't in, they're out. With my brother" she smiles.
Jade's face remains stern, glancing at the room around her with broken windows, dusty mantelpieces and insects crawling from the cracks.
Addison: "You're Venelope's guardian correct? I've heard so many stor-!"
Addison pauses upon Jade's approach as she jilts her way onto Addison.
Jade: "Why am I here? What happened!" she insists upon knowing as Addison frowns.
::Flashback::
Addison (Present Day): "It began with me arriving at Vinepool Parking Lot. I hadn't had a very good day, I thought I'd go for a stroll get some air . . ."
Addison arrives at the Vinepool Parking Lot, her body stands perched upon a ledge upon the sixth floor of the building. She breathes heavily as she inhales the air from outside. She steadies herself, glancing over the edge with the intention to jump.
However, from behind she hears the engine of a car.
Addison (Present Day): "Thats when I saw you . . ."
Jade exits from her car, striding over in her finest outfit towards a small white car.
Addison (Present Day): "It was a man . . . he was wearing a suit"
The man shoots at Jade, striking her in the stomach as she falls against the car. She jilts in agony as he begins to approach her. From above, Principal Nolan Kizler appears from the shadows as he holds his small handgun to Jade's forehead as she begins to drift in and out of consciousness. He readies his aim until Addison rustles in the back, thus distracting Nolan long enough before another engine comes from below startling him into retreating, leaving Jade in a pool of her own blood.
Addison peers out, glancing at the scene as she covers her mouth. She soon scurries over to an unconscious Jade before resting her hand upon the wound.
::End of Flashback::
Jade: "You did all that? . . . Why didn't you take me to the hospital?"
Addison: "You pissed someone off Miss. I didn't think it was safe, do you know who it was?"
Jade's brow tilts, she turns her eye to the window as she nods sympathetically.
Jade: "I have a pretty good idea" she expresses with great understanding.
::Scene Two::
Disc One: The Sherman Twins.
Venelope: "Brea and Susan Sherman. The ones who were jealous of our interactions. The ones who felt envy over my relationship with you . . . Ethan. Primarily Susan. I can't blame them for their actions, I held no loyalty and I expected nothing from them. Until the Ball in which Susan tore my own hair from my head. I screamed for help but all she did was laugh. All I could do was sit there and weep. Nobody to help me. Nobody to save me. I was alone. As for Brea, the sister who holds no voice. No righteous stance. She is envious for a position of leadership which she'll always be denied. She's jealous of that and sat there whilst I was made a fool of upon that stage. I've lived a hard life . . . but to see two girls reach to that level, it hurts me. It hurts to me to see them be so hostile and so violent to another"
Venelope ends the video as the images of Brea and Susan appear through pictures she has taken.
She begins to cough aggressively, reaching for some water as she takes a sip, however beside her glass rests a fallen bottle of sleeping medication in the form of small capsules that lay spread upon the tables with the bottle gently rocking side by side.
She shakes her head, reaching for the second disc as she waves it in the air.
Disc Two: Clark Marwood.
Venelope: "You may be wondering where his friend, Logan Friar is. I was hostile towards him at a cost, Logan is a misunderstood individual who I do not blame. He holds no ground for the responsibility of what must come next and what took place. He may of been present but upon hearing him, hearing of his sorrow and remorse I hold no pleasure in taunting him when he has been through enough. I'm not ready to be another Renee. Another Susan. Another Clark. Logan deserves better and I'm hoping you can help him with that. As for his friend, Clark. He deserves nothing. He chose a relationship with Renee Covington out of spite, out of pure knowledge of his growing popularity and that never changed once he obtained the things he needed from Renee. You knew him more and the way he used to taunt me, the way he assaulted me. I walked through those streets in the shit he threw at me. I could've been something . . . but he took that away from me"
The pills shortly diminish in quantity, growing less and less as Venelope continues to sip away at her water.
Venelope: (Shaking her head) "I'm sorry . . . I'm just really tired"
::Scene Three::
Jade peers through the window, being stabilized by Addison who supports her.
Jade: "Where are we?"
Addison: "At my home!" she smiles delightfully.
Jade: "B- . . . But, thats my house!" she points across the street to see her home.
Jade: "How is that possible? Nobody lives across the street from me"
Addison bows her head as Jade hobbles back, she shakes her head as she comes to her senses.
Jade: "Venelopes on her own, how many days has it been? I need to get back to her!"
Jade panics, lifting herself upon a small piece of wood as Addison shortly follows behind, her face looking solemn as she whispers under her breath.
Addison: "Three days . . ."
::Scene Four::
Venelope stumbles from the kitchen, clutching hold of the third disc as she begins to stumble, taking her hand as she positions herself infront of the camera.
Disc Three: Skye Marquez.
Venelope: "Skye was my friend. My only friend. I never thought I'd see her name upon these discs until today. A friend is someone you can depend on. A friend is someone who's always there for you and thats what she told me. For what she experienced, for what happened to her I thought she'd understand. However, with no warning, without reward, without hope she led me into a trap and I don't know if I can blame her. I ask you Ethan to judge that for me. Was Skye the reason for what happened? Why has she not tried to help. Where has my friend gone?"
The pill bottle rolls off the table, onto the floor as Venelope's vision goes blurry.
Disc Four: Renee Convington.
Venelope: "The final disc, Ethan . . . I'm sorry. Everything that has happened, everything she did. Standing here, in this very room. Scaring me. Taunting me."
Venelope begins choking.
Venelope: "This isn't the final disc, I've left the final one in a special place but please, for me Ethan. I'm sorry. I really am"
Venelope closes the laptop, removing the disc and writing the numbers upon them before sealing them in envelopes, however Disc Zero lays upon the table in a brown envelope. Venelope's head rises as she falls back upon the cushions of Jade's vintage sofa, her lips turn a mild red as her cheeks glow. Her eyes stare up, her world spinning around as her arm dangles from the base. Her hand strikes the floor, her luscious curls folding down across the sofa as time passes.
::Scene Five::
Two Days Later.
Jade exits Addison's home, hobbling across the street as her voice screeches, passing pedestrians stopping as they all turn to watch Jade hobbling across the street and turn to Addison who departs her home.
Addison turns slowly, staring out as the fellow residents all glance up at her home. The charcoal black building hanging in ruins, the door hanging off of its hinges as Addison stares solemnly above before resting her eyes upon the ground.
Ethan's head falls into his hands, the discs end upon a loop as Venelope's smile appears upon the screen once more, haunting Ethan's mind.
Jade's pain hurls her through her door, into a small coat stand that sits in the small corridor. She jilts, screaming for her child.
Jade: "Venelope!?" she wanders.
She hobbles closer to the lounge, entering to see Venelope laid out upon the Sofa, the image of her face being shielded by the Sofa's make. She hobbles closer, calling out once more.
Jade: "Venelope, whats all this?" she questions, noticing the laptop.
However, as she grows closer Jade's foot presses into sludge, a sound that makes her hurl with the stench fills her body.
Jade: "What the hell?!"
Her eyes however soon fall to the floor, Venelope's vomit resting upon the ground as the empty bottle of pills stands within it. Upon the sofa, little Venelope rests with her eyes open her hair soaked in drying vomit that trickles from her mouth.
Jade: "Oh no . . . Ve- . . Venelope?!" she quakes, falling to her knee's as she jilts in pain.
She lifts Venelope into her arms, holding her head close.
Jade's screaming fills the streets of Raindale upon the day of Venelope Hanson's death.

Kind of suspected him as no one else really hated Jade the only other person who it could have been was maybe Renee

Ok correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Skye tell Ethan not to go... if she did than it's technically his fault
Wtf. Addison is my favorite character because she confuses me very thing about her is confusing. Nobody says she lives there so is she a ghost of some sorts?
Read 1-9 in all go, so thought I'd leave a comment on this one :)
Thoughts upon the Episode?: Easily the heaviest hitting. Venelope's fate and all the revelations make this episode my favourite.
Thoughts upon Venelope's Suicide?: Until the first disc, something I did not expect happening. I thought Venelope was in it for the long haul. Heavy resemblance to 13 Reasons Why.
What will Ethan do after hearing what Venelope had to say?: The hope is he makes things right and avenges her.
Thoughts upon Nolan being the one who shot Jade?: Not totally shocked, seem like the only logical choice to do it.
Was Addison going to Jump?: It's hard to say, but I feel she would've. Great she didn't, and that she was able to save Jade.
Who's Disc Zero?: Nolan seems the logical choice. It could be a shock if it happened to be Ethan, but that would need some major explaining.
Did Skye deserve a Disc?: I actually do think so. She couldn't face her own demons, and she's down the path of redemption along with Ethan.
Reaction to the Revelation of Addison's Home?: Wow. Addison is as scarred as Venelope when you think about it. I think her or Ethan will take the mantle as the "main character" in the series.
Where is Addison's Family?: I truly think they're dead (and she was most likely behind it). She's hardly been apart of the main story line aside from being a friend of V's. With her helping Jade and such, I hope we:
1) See her take a bigger role in the overall story
2) Get more flashbacks with her
Favorite/Least Favorite Characters?: My favourite is probably Addison, who has been interesting and mysterious throughout (shoutout to Alex too, can't wait to see how he fits into the main story). Yes Nolan and Renee are obvious choices for least favourite, but I do think they are good villains and add to the story as characters a lot. My least favourite might be some of the characters who aren't really fleshed out as much (Ian and Clarke). Clarke just seems like a bad person, and hasn't done much other than be that. Ian is just the good friend who helps Jackson, but not much else. That being said, you made Logan and the twins (who I thought would be fill-ins really) better as the story progressed, so I assume these two will be the same!
IceIceBaby I can't wait for more! This saddening plot point in my eyes starts the "final act" of the series, which should be great :)
