In a small cabin, lights flare. A cabin filled with guests dance as drinks pour into small cups. From behind the small mini bar dances Gabi Kolcheck. She smiles bravely, walking in studded boots and a short sports bra as she walks through the crowd. Outside, her father Sheriff Darren Kolcheck sits silently within his police car. His stern eyes fixated upon the cabin, his daughter in full view of him as she dances infront of the window.
February 21st, 2010.
Gabi: "Daddy, what have I said, leave them be. They're with Cade's group!" she laughs silently.
Darren shows no hesitation, bringing up the files of all those present in the group. He shakes his head, thinking back as he runs his hand across many of them.
Sheriff Darren: "No, there's something I'm missing" he waves his finger at Gabi.
Sheriff Darren: "There's something your not telling me, I could've sworn I recognized that man, the young one in the car with the girl"
Gabi hesitates. Her eyes gently circulate as she chuckles, leaning upon the desk as taking her Father's hand.
Gabi: "Mom was always right about you, you know that! you're too invested in your work" she jokingly states.
Gabi: "These people are not your concern, Cade told me last week that they were descending into the shafts later today, focus on the real crimes Daddy"
Gabi shares an affectionate concern for her Father, Darren reluctantly accepting his Daughter's words before placing the files into his desk.
Sheriff Darren: "Just do me a favor, keep an eye on the group for me? If Cade asks just tell him I sent you. Take this with you, I don't want you getting hurt up there alright?"
Gabi takes a small weapon, a pistol from her Father.
Gabi: "I'm meant to be a fitness trainer, since when was we deciding to oust me as the Deputy?" She reveals, her real profession being Deputy of the Casanova Hills Resort.
Sheriff Darren: "Just do it for me, alright sweetheart?"
Gabi: (Sighing briefly) "Yes Daddy" she accepts prior to leaving.
--Change of Scene--
Further up into the Resort, the group awaken from their sleep. Many of the group remain dreary eyed, making short movement to get out of bed until Anastasia waltzes into the rooms.
Anastasia: "Come on guys! What are you doing?! We're meant to be leaving in 20 minutes!"
Inside the cabin, Peresphone sniggers as Kassidy tries to move. She rubs her eyes, coming to her senses.
Kassidy: "Damn, I don't miss this one bit" she whistles out, Bellamy jumping onto her from behind.
Bellamy: "Shhh, what are you saying? You love this!"
Persephone: "Come on Kass, you sure you don't want a little adventure?"
Kassidy: (Breaking a smile) "Let me get a shower" she rolls herself out, Anastasia declaring a smile.
As Kassidy enters the shower, over in the other Cabins Keyon awakens in the arms of his boyfriend Norman who lays on his back with eyes wide open.
Keyon: "Shit, are we late?" he panics.
Norman: "No, no we have time . . ."
Norman's distant attitude concerns Keyon who sits up, leaning upon Norman's chest.
Keyon: "Whats wrong? Your not ill are you?"
Norman shakes his head.
Keyon: "Then what?"
Norman: (Sighing) "What are we doing? It's been nine months and I feel like I barely know you"
Keyon's face clears of all expression, climbing from Norman and out of the bed, pulling up his pants as he takes his shirt.
Keyon: "Not now, we're not doing this again. Last time you did this I had nowhere to live for three days, I had to stay in a motel because of it. For once in your life Norman stop being so self absorbed and be concerned about others. Not everything is about you!"
Norman sits silently, watching Keyon enter the bathroom as Valentino rises from the bed opposite them. A sharp grin peels from his face as he glances over at Norman.
Valentino: "Lover's tiff?"
Norman: (His head rises, disgust upon his face) "Fuck off, V"
As Valentino reclines in his own enjoyment, his 'associate' Melania sits in one of the bathrooms sobbing to herself. Her body leans upon the toilet, her hand folded over her shoulder as she weeps into her hand. However, within the palm of her hand she clutches to a small pregnancy test in which reads a positive reading for the young girl.
::Scene Two::
October 25th, 2008.
Within the cabin, the party has come to an end. The cabin lays bare, trash scattered across the floor as Gabi rests in one of the bedrooms. Her body lays bare, covered in a single duvet. Her hair hangs low in a small bundle of knots. She holds her hand against her head, turning over to find the face of Valentino Ruiz beside her.
He holds a declaring smile, both of whom lay bare beside one of another from the night before. Valentino however remains more aware. His head leans in, holding out something that belongs to Gabi.
Valentino: "Recently promoted to Deputy? Well Sugar Tits, who would've thought!"
Gabi: "Give me that back you son of a bitch"
Valentino quickly leaps from the bed as Gabi wrestles with him, pulling away as she clings the duvet to her.
Valentino: "Uh? I'm sorry does Daddy's girl want to keep her reputation?"
Gabi: (Her head tilting to one side) "You bastard"
Valentino: "Come on Sugar Tits, you know what I want" he smirks, winking at Gabi who bursts out in a bundle of laughter.
Valentino throws Gabi's badge to the side, throwing himself onto her as the two fall back onto the bed. Both partners showing considerable affection to one another as they prepare to have sex.
February 21st, 2010.
As the trucks are loaded, Anastasia awaits the group and the final stragglers to emerge from the Cabin.
Bellamy: "Come on Scott! What took you so long?"
Scott trembles, carrying out his bags for the truck before ultimately tripping. Bellamy laughs hysterically as his sister Kassidy shows sympathy, striking Bellamy across the arm before going to Scott's aid.
Scott: "Why am I here?" he asks quietly as Kassidy smiles.
Kassidy: (Taking his hand) "Come on, we should get going"
At the front of the trucks, Cade stands with his sister Peresphone, Anastasia joining the two.
Cade: "Today guys is about safety! Once we get there you all follow Ana's lead. She knows a small system underlying the entire Resort that she wants to check out, you all have maps of where we're going. If you have any questions feel free to ask myself, Ana or Perry!"
Anastasia: "Yes guys, most important this trip is about having fun. Now, lets get going"
The group cheer as the two tour guides climb into the first truck whilst Anastasia climb into a separate one with Lorraine and Rosalie. Behind them, Norman, Keyon, Kassidy, Bellamy and Scott travel together whilst Valentino awaits for Melania's arrival outside.
Lorraine: "So this cave system is already mapped out?"
Rosalie: (Holding up the maps) "By the looks of this, we enter through here and exit at the top"
Anastasia's face glances in the mirror as she takes the lead, driving through the woodlands with the group behind her.
Back at the Cabins, Melania finally departs with her belongings in her hand.
Valentino: "Come on blondie, what took you so long? Touching up those horrific roots I bet!"
Melania throws her bags onto the truck before being grabbed by Valentino.
Valentino: (Snatching at her arm) "Next time I'd admire a bit of affection from my property"
Melania: (Forcefully taking her arm back) "Next time I'd like to refrain from the touch of man!"
::Scene Three::
July 6th, 1992.
A six year old girl with luscious brown locks sits within a small orphanage. Nobody in sight. Her eyes wander, gazing to a small office that reads 'Sister Marie Washington' upon the door. Her body rises, gently tiptoeing her way into the room to see a box of chocolates. Her small hand rises, grabbing several of these chocolates before throwing them into her mouth. However, her small ears twitch at the sound of groaning. Her head turns timidly, coming to see Sister Marie Washington upon a couch as Father Stefan.
Sister Washington's eyes open, gazing at the girl in a fright.
Sister Washington: "Melania Cooper! What are you doing you silly little brat!" she angers.
She pulls at her lower half, Father Stefan jumping to his feet as Sister Washington approaches little Melania who stands frightened and unsure of what she saw.
Melania: "Miss, I'm sorry! I didn't know what I saw! I swear!" she panics.
Sister Washington: "Oh thats right, you won't know. Receiving the touch of man is a sin! You must be punished for provoking Father Stefan to do such a thing!"
Melania remains stunned, being grabbed by the Sister as Father Stefan follows them out. Melania screams as she is dragged through the Orphanage and into a small broom cupboard where Sister Washington pours bleach into a small bucket.
Sister Washington: "I'll teach you to arouse men like that!"
Melania: "Sister! I promise, it wasn't me!"
From the corridors, the other nuns gather.
Sister Jones: "Sister, what is this?!" what stands stunned.
Sister Washington: "Our Father Stefan has sinned through the pressure of this monster! She will be from the touch of man for as long as she shall live"
Melania: "Sist-!" she gargles as her head is fiercely thrown into the bucket.
Hours pass, Melania still resides in the broom cupboard as she twiddles her thumbs. Her eyes remain puffy and red as her hair hangs in clusters of bleached knots. Her words circulate in her head, promising to refrain from the touch of man.
--Change of Scene--
August 9th, 2009.
Melania Cooper stands in the streets of New Jersey, holding up signs promoting Celibates. Her words transpire through her signs as Valentino Ruiz stands beside his car, watching her from a distance as he blows smoke from a cigarette.
Melania: "God is my lover, my father and my leader" she calls out, the public walking by.
Melania: "Keep from the touch of man, be your own individual. Be the woman that God intended us to be! I devote my life, my passion and my lust for God to him. He is my keeper, he will show me the way as I remain untouched by the needs of a sexual beast. I am tight and will remain so, my gardens will not flourish. My waterfall will not run. I am holy without sin and that is how I will stay"
Valentino claps, throwing his cigarette aside as he approaches Melania who turns to him with great defense.
Melania: "Stay from me you unholy being" she clutches at a small cross.
Valentino: "Damn look at you, which nuthouse did you just escape from?"
He takes note of Melania's outfit, a small buttoned dress with school girl shoes.
Valentino: "Or you've been kept upon some plantation and just travelled through time from the 1960's" he laughs.
Melania shows no expression as her sign lowers.
Valentino: "Could I take you out for dinner?"
Melania: (She places her hand upon her stomach) "I am hungry . . ."
Valentino: "Well let me be the first to admire your beauty"
Melania: "Don't touch me!" (She bats his hand away) "I am my own woman, I am nothing more than an associate!"
Valentino shakes his head, agreeing to her terms as they walk alongside eachother through the streets of New Jersey.
::Scene Four::
February 21st, 2010.
Valentino: "You really are a nutcase aren't you?"
Melania doesn't respond. Her head leans to one side, her eyes gazing upon passing tree's as they approach the site of where the group awaits.
As they climb out, they find the group debating with one another.
Cade: (To Anastasia) "Ana, this isn't what I have on the map. The entrance is completely different" He whispers.
Anastasia: "Oh no, its due to erosion. Trust me, I've been here before"
He smiles, accepting the answer as they return to the group.
Anastasia: "We'll be taking it in turns. Perry will go first then Cade and so on. I want you all to take it slow alright?"
As Anastasia gives the group a briefing, Peresphone laughs.
Peresphone: "I'll see you all down there!"
She flings herself from the edge into an abyss attached to a harness, her flashlight from her helmet gazing into the deep as running waterfalls enter the Cavern. On the ground above, Anastasia and Cade run to the edge.
Anastasia: "Perry! I said slowly!"
Upon reaching the ground, Peresphone takes in the scenery of stunning caves running throughout one another.
Peresphone: "Get down here! It's beautiful!" she cheers, the group all showing confidence in the location.
However, further down the hill from the group Gabi comes to a halt in her small car. She climbs out, reaching for her backpack before something scurries across the dirt feet away from her. She turns suddenly, holding her gun close. Her eyes wander, seeing nothing around her before closing her car door and slowly approaching the group, keeping her distance from them so she remains undetected as her Deputy Badge hangs from her jeans.
As the group continue down, Rosalie stands beside Lorraine who struggles.
Lorraine: "What if I can't do it?"
Rosalie: "I'll be down there, don't panic"
Anastasia: (Holding Lorraine's harness) "Lorraine, listen to me. We've done this plenty of times before, theres nothing to be scared of"
Rosalie begins to descending. Lorraine's breath shortening as Anastasia releases the harness, allowing Lorraine to fall back and begin descending.
On top, Anastasia watches the group descend as she becomes the last one. Her eyes gaze upon the cavern system's mapped out route before tossing it into the dirt and setting herself up, descending herself into the Cavern.
--Change of Scene--
February 23rd, 2010.
Lorraine: "That was the beginning of the end" she informs Sheriff Darren.
Sheriff Darren: "My Daughter? She was there right?"
Lorraine: "Briefly . . . They were all there before they came"

I was surprised with Gabi and Valentino's relationship, when I first read it I thought Val raped her but I reread it and was shocked
Melanie is preggers oh no, I think she'll keep it
I don't like Ana she seems so off and shady
I love Norman and Keyon's relationship it's so cute even with the arguing I still love it
It was sad seeing Melanie's past
Thoughts Upon the Episode?: A great 2nd episode, I love all of the clips we get of everybody's past. It's exciting to see the show is as much about the characters as it is the horror.
Thoughts upon Gabi/Valentino having a previous relationship?: Shook - didn't even see it coming. I hope it makes for an awkward reunion, especially now that Melania is pregnant.
How will this affect Gabi's job to watch the group?: Well, it's clear it won't work out well. In fact, this is probably what leads to her death, considering she's on there "briefly." Still, it's fun to see her involved.
Thoughts upon Keyon's/Norman's fractured Relationship?: SAD! I was rooting for them episode one. I am glad to see how human they are though - hope they work it out.
Thoughts upon Melania's Flashback?: Even more camp & I loved it. He's right, she's a nutcase. That being said, she's one of the stand-out characters for sure!
How will Melania's Pregnancy affect the story?: It could affect her and Valentino's relationship. He isn't the "father" type. Hopefully, Gabi adds a bit of flavor as well.
Thoughts upon Melania's first meeting with Valentino?: He was kinda hot, smoking and watching her across the street; a very cool dude. I would have said yes. I'm glad he wasn't scared away by Melania's crazy.
What is Anastasia doing and why did she throw away the Map?: God, idk. I hope she knows what she is doing bc I don't.
What will happen now that they're in the Cavern?: It's safe to assume that shit will hit the fan soon. I see a Wendigo in our near future!
Thoughts upon Lorraine's conversation with Sheriff Darren?: I expected Gabi to be their only briefly, but it is sad to see her father confused about where she is / what happened to her. Plus, another hint that the Wendigos are coming!
Favorite/Least Favorite Characters?: My favorites include Gabi, Melania, Valentino, Keyon, & Norman. Least Favorite is probably Anastasia - GIRL what you doing??????!!!
Thoughts Upon the Episode?: Another lovely episode Drea! It was great getting to see more of a backstory for Gabi, Valentino & Melania. Hope we get more of a backstory from the other characters in the future, hopefully!
Thoughts upon Gabi/Valentino having a previous relationship?: That threw me for a loop, but that's definitely going to affect the way Gabi looks after the group with a slight Valentino-bias. Wouldn't be surprised if she held something against Melania due to this.
How will this affect Gabi's job to watch the group?: As stated prior, she'll definitely have a slight bias towards Valentino and will probably envy Melania.
Thoughts upon Keyon's/Norman's fractured Relationship?: It's messy and sad, but I think it'll be too late for them to work it out - don't see much hope for one of them being able to make it far and am predicting one of them to die early on.
Thoughts upon Melania's Flashback?: Oh I felt for the poor girl, but her backstory gave her more definition and individuality which I liked. Glad that we got to learn more about her since she's without a doubt an interesting character.
How will Melania's Pregnancy affect the story?: I wouldn't be surprised if this sparked a change in behavior coming from her, mostly being felt with disappointment and shame after abiding by an instilled mindset in re: celibacy but I don't expect Valentino to take much responsibility or change in anyway.
Thoughts upon Melania's first meeting with Valentino?: I was a bit dead at her promoting celibates in the middle of the streets but didn't think much of it. I appreciate knowing how they first met now though, stan talent stan Melania.
What is Anastasia doing and why did she throw away the Map?: We just don't know what tf Missus Ana is up to, but it's definitely not going to well.
What will happen now that they're in the Cavern?: It's pretty clear that next to come will be the many deaths to expect whilst in the cavern, along with drama to occur as this is all happening.
Thoughts upon Lorraine's conversation with Sheriff Darren?: Very brief, but gave us insight on what's to come. Assuming the last sentence was foreshadowing the future wendigos.
Favorite/Least Favorite Characters?: My faves are definitely Persephone (inlove), Melania, Gabi & Lorraine.
Thoughts Upon the Episode?: I think it was a wonderful follow up to the Premiere! Began to dig into more of the characters past and their connections beforehand. Honestly enjoyed it very much so! Love that the show focuses on different aspects, other than the horror part.
Thoughts upon Gabi/Valentino having a previous relationship?: I didn't prepare for that at all, interesting to say the least. It'll be amusing to see how she interacts with Melania, despite this situation. I hate the way that Valentino reacts and treats women, though.
How will this affect Gabi's job to watch the group?: She'll be biased, obviously. I wonder how the other members will feel, not knowing the newest town deputy is tagging along for a cave exploration trip to watch over everyone and make sure nothing shady happens.
Thoughts upon Keyon's/Norman's fractured Relationship?: I want to see more of it develop throughout the next episode or two, honestly. This isn't their whole relationship, think it's just a lover's quarrel and Norman is too self-centered, so it might not end up working out and I wouldn't be surprised if Norman died off early between the two.
Thoughts upon Melania's Flashback?: Happy to understand now why she is so persistent to enter relationships or sexual engagements with a man, Sister Washington put her in place for deciding to sleep with Father herself, but Melania felt guilty and ultimately continued with the Sister's declaration of Christianity.
How will Melania's Pregnancy affect the story?: This is going to cause more chaos and drama, plus she might attempt distancing herself and wonder about having an abortion or giving up the baby, which she will obviously never receive either of the chances to do.
Thoughts upon Melania's first meeting with Valentino?: It made me appreciate Melania's character and her cause more as an individual! Love her!
What is Anastasia doing and why did she throw away the Map?: This girl think she has everything figured out, but she doesn't, trust me!
What will happen now that they're in the Cavern?: The characters clearly get trapped inside, wendigos will be introduced more and survival will begin to falter as numbers dwindle.
Thoughts upon Lorraine's conversation with Sheriff Darren?: Foreshadowing future events, it's beautiful!
Favorite/Least Favorite Characters?: Melania, Keyon, Gabi, Lorraine.
