This third season of my music game will be bigger and better than ever. Why is that you may ask? Well, because I finally have enough T from betting on charities to afford a gift. So unlike my previous seasons, there will be an actual award for the winner!

Send a song entry in the comments. There are only two rules for this first entry:
Your submission can not have been entered in the first two seasons of my game.
Your track must be under 5 minutes and 30 seconds long

Other than that, it’s a free-for-all so submit any song you like. Just make sure it’s great!
Most likely everyone will be accepted but if there’s too many applications, then I’ll eliminate a few people based on their initial submission.
[What are the rules for the rest of the season?]
The rules are nearly identical to my past two seasons as well as the majority of the music games on this website.
Every round there’ll be a theme and you must submit a song you like that fits the theme.
The contestant who submits the best song will win that challenge while the contestants who submit the worst songs will wind up in the bottom.
This season, I will implement a sudden death round for the bottom contestants where they can submit a track to earn their place back in the competition.
No artist can be submitted more than twice in a season. I’ll make a note of every artist who has been submitted twice to make it easy for you

Almost a month and a half ago I began this contest with twelve contestants. Then through a series of eleven challenges I was able to dwindle that number to three. I want to thank you all for participating and sending in your entries in a timely manner. I know it was hard as there’s always other responsibilities in life which take top priority. Overall, I was very impressed with this season as many songs I’ve never heard of before were submitted.
Now enough rambling, here are the results of the battle rounds:
Battle #1
‘Dreaming Alone’ vs ‘Just Pretend’ vs ‘because i liked a boy’
Reviews:
‘Dreaming Alone’ Kindred7 - My favorite aspect of this song is the lyrics, they tell a sweet story about two ex-lovers who both miss each other even though they’re in new relationships. The weakest part of the song were the vocal performances from the singers. I won’t say they were terrible but they could’ve been stronger.
‘Because i liked a boy’ coolKat - This is easily one of your strongest submissions in the contest. It has honest and raw lyrics that tell a story which allowed me to picture a movie in my mind, especially during the first verse. I also liked the retro-sounding production as well as how much the first chorus varied from that first verse.
‘Just Pretend’ Thnksfrthmmrs - Interestingly enough, all three songs in this battle were about break-ups. Comparatively, this song has the best hook but is weaker when it comes to the lyrical content. The lyrics leave much up to imagination for example he says that he and his ex were too different but doesn’t elaborate on how.
Although I did like all three of these songs and would listen to them outside of the contest, the winner is an easy choice for me. The winner of this first battle is Coolkat with ‘because I liked a boy’.
Battle #2
‘This Hell’ Thnksfrthmmrs - I liked the production that takes inspiration from disco and a little bit from country music. Overall, this was a fun song.
‘Lion’ Kindred7 - This song was lots of fun and coincidentally reminds me of a lot of the first song in the battle round with the mentions of religion. My only criticism is that this might get annoying to listen to after hearing it a few times because of how repetitive it is. Production-wise, the song reminds me a lot of the tropical house music that was popular a few years ago.
‘Leave’ coolKat - The highlight of this song would have to be her soulful voice, it’s unique and brings the song to the next level. The lyrics were interesting as well as they tell the story of a boyfriend that the singer once loved until he turned to drugs. Another great submission for you!
The winner of this round would have to be coolKat with ‘Leave’!
Battle #3
‘Come Back Home’ coolKat - I can’t stand her voice in the song. I’ve listened to some of her older stuff and she didn’t sound like this so I’m assuming she’s putting on an infliction to sound trendy. I’m sure the lyrics are meaningful but it’s hard for me to focus on anything else.
‘Take What You Want’ Thnksfrthmmrs - This would’ve been better without the Travis Scott verse but that being said I still really enjoyed this. It was initially surprising to see Post work with Ozzy Osborne, but Post has a history in rock music so it was cool to see him return to his roots. My favorite line is “you showed your tongue and it was forked in two”, because it’s a more clever way of calling her a snake. A criticism I have is with Post’s voice as he tends to mumble stuff over enunciating it which makes it harder to try and understand the lyrics.
‘Can’t Catch Tomorrow’ Kindred7 - This was fun to listen to, but I don’t see myself remembering this in the future.

[RESULTS]
I will be giving the bronze medal of this season to Kindred7. You have done a great job in this contest since you landed in the top, five different times which is more than any other contestant. However, none of your submissions in the finale stuck with me unfortunately. It was a pleasure to have you competing this season as you were very engaged with the game so I’m glad you were able to reach the finals!
Now, I am at a bit of a standstill because although CoolKat did a great job in these last couple of rounds, Thnksfrthmmrs has been more consistent throughout this season as a whole.
Since CoolKat crushed this finale so much, he will be the winner of my contest!!
Congratulations, although you had a bit of a dry spell in the middle of the season you were able to turn things around once I started asking for multiple submissions per round. I always root for their underdog and you were the underdog for a while in this competition. However, I’m now proud to call you the winner of my second music game!

Exactly 181 artists have been submitted for me during the history of my music game. For this challenge, I am asking you to submit a track by an artist who has not had one of their songs submitted before. Other than that, you have free range over submitting any three songs. Will this lack of structure hurt or hinder your performances? Only time will tell.

For this challenge, I will determine the results by doing three-way song battles for each of the three themes. Anybody who wins a battle will secure a place in the finals, meaning that the finals could potentially be a final three. Or, our winner could be determined tonight if one contestant has the best three songs. So let’s get on with it...
First Battle:
'Out of My Mind' Kindred7 - I liked the lyric video that you sent as it was interesting for me to read along to. It tells the story of his infatuation with a girl who he knows it not the perfect fit for him. This is relatable as sometimes it can be confusing as to why you're attracted to a particular person. However, I wouldn't have enjoyed this that much if I was just listening to it without a video attached.
'Goodbye to a World' Thnksfrthmmrs - This robot type electronic music just isn't for me but I'm glad that you stayed true to yourself.
'Unholy' CoolKat - I remember hearing about them a few years ago when they were associated with 5 Seconds of Summer but only ever listened to a couple songs by them. Ultimately, this was my favorite out of the three but I wouldn't say it was exceptional.
If I'm being honest, this was the weakest battle out of the three. However if I had to pick a winner it would be 'Unholy' by CoolKat. So congratulations, you are the first contestant moving onto my finals!
Second Battle:
'Strawberry Shortcake' coolKat - Some of the sound effects in the background were strange, especially that squeaking sneaker sound. I know it's supposed to sound like it's in a school hallway but it just makes it hard to listen to.
'Wine Red' Kindred7 - This reminded me a lot of early Panic! At The Disco, especially the male vocalist. I found these lyrics interesting as they remind me of the story of Adam & Eve with the mentions of an apple and a garden. I didn't love it at first but I listened to it again and it's definitely growing on me. Good choice!
'Back to Black' Thnksfrthmmrs - It's been a while since I've heard this song but it's still incredible. I love the old school, theatrical sounding production that adds to how dramatic the subject matter is.
This was a close competition between 'Wine Red' and 'Back to Black'. I preferred the lyrics of 'Wine Red', while I favored the production of 'Back to Black'. Ultimately, I will be rewarding the band that I have never heard of before. This means Kindred7 you are the winner of my second battle!
Third Battle:
'Kick' Thnksfrthmmrs - I used to love this kind of music during high school when I would listen to bands like The Wonder Years or Knuckle Puck. This was a great way to remind me of those times and a good reminder to revisit this genre. This song is so good, and would've killed it during that lyric challenge I had you guys do. I like how honest the lyrics are and the story that they tell of drug addiction.
'Carry Your Throne' coolKat - This song was very cool and is something I'd listen to again. It sounds like something that would be on the soundtrack for an action movie like The Hunger Games. It was also nice how the chorus and verses were so different from each other, with the chorus being much softer.
'Thirsty' Kindred7 - This song has a generic pop sound that I typically can't stand, but this was an exception to that rule. This would be a great song to have on during the summer and I typically like songs about having a crush because of how relatable it is for everybody.
This was the strongest battle as I liked all three of these songs. However, 'Kick' managed to rise above the rest and take the crown. So congratulations Thnksfrthmmrs you have officially made it to the finals of my music game!
It's a bit anticlimactic but you all did well this round so I didn't think it was fair to get rid of any of you. This means we will have a final three as opposed to a final two! So good luck to you three because the finals are getting posted soon.
Since it’s the semi-finals, I’m going to step it up a little. Instead of submitting two songs, you will now be submitting THREE songs. I know this sounds daunting, so I will be giving you all 72 hours to complete this challenge.
Here are the guidelines for your three submissions:
Each song has to be by a different artist.
Song 1 - Submit a song included on an artist’s debut studio album.
Song 2 - Submit a song included on an artist’s sophomore studio album.
Song 3 - Submit a song included on an artist’s third studio album.
