Nice work, the ten of you have made it to the third round of my music challenge!
For this round your task is to submit a song by an artist or band who isn't well known. This will be a great opportunity for you to give the spotlight to an underrated musician. I won't specify how unknown your artist has to be just try to submit somebody you don't think I've heard of before. I'm excited to discover some hidden gems!
Okay so this is going to be a risky submission…. For two reasons: 1) it’s not English, and 2) I’d be shocked if you heard of this group. They aren’t … not known… But in the western world I think a lot of people who even like Korean music don’t know them. Theres also no incredibly large fan base in Korea either, at least never as big as it should’ve been.
Basically they’re VERY underrated, like it baffles me as to how they’re less well-known than BTS, Blackpink etc. because their music is more consistently good, and they’re involved in their own song-writing. Their production company (one of the biggest in Korea) basically really really dropped the ball on them - they ended up being told to make Japanese music later which is fine but that wasn’t as well-marketed either. I figured I’ll submit one of their Japanese songs bc they’re some of their newer songs (instead of my favourite Korean song), but it’s one that I think makes me feel a bit sad bc I do think they were screwed. I think they’re incredibly talented, so if I lose by submitting them, it’s ok.
