Coolkat this is your first top two in a while, I’m glad to see you back on top. I was especially a fan of your ‘80s pick while your modern pick was enjoyable but still left me a bit to be desired. Meanwhile @humanjet1 you were in the top during my solo-write challenge but have not won a challenge since round 3. However, you won’t have to wait any longer since you are the winner of this challenge! CoolKat you are safe as well.

This means my bottom 2 this round consists of Kindred7 and Maxi1234 . Kindred7 you have had a string of good luck through this competition, however you have reached a bit of a roadblock. I didn’t fall in love with either of your songs this round. However, you have shown lots of promise in the past so I will be letting you get another chance in my top four. This unfortunately means that Maxi1234 will be going home with a 5th place position. Congratulations on making it so far, you have always submitted fresh songs that I had never heard before. You are welcome to return back for a future season but your time in this season ends today. Thank you!

‘Out of Time’ Thnksfrthmmrs - I wouldn’t go out of my way to listen to this again but I liked how mellow this was. I knew for sure that he would be submitted for this category so I’m glad you were able to send in a song from him I hadn’t heard before.
‘Nights’ humanwebjet1 - Great choice! The story told through the lyrics isn’t exactly something I’ve never heard in a song before but I still found this fresh and interesting. My only critiques would be that the bridge was underwhelming and the lyrics got a bit repetitive by the end.
‘Adios’ Kindred7 - This was a fun and upbeat song but I was distracted by it because I kept on thinking of other songs that the song sounded similar to. The biggest similarity was Blinding Lights by The Weeknd.
‘Fly Me Courageous’ humanwebjet1 - I’m glad you submitted a song from the rock genre because that type of music was very important to the decade. My favorite parts were the lines that began with “woah”, because of how cool his voice sounded. I thought the song was fairly generic until I heard that part.
‘All Of Me’ Maxi1234 - This was fun, but was forgettable especially compared to other songs I’ve heard in this round. I don’t mind some cheesy pop music, especially from this decade, but there wasn’t anything that sets this apart from the pack.
‘I Was Made for Lovin’ You’ Kindred7 - Naturally I’m going to compare this to the other ‘80s rock song that was submitted to me, and this falls flat in comparison. I said in the review for “Fly Me Courageous” that I was worried the song would sound too generic. I was worried about that for this song as well, but in this case I was right to be worried.
‘If You Want To’ coolKat - I’m a big fan of her song ‘Black Velvet’ so I had high hopes going into this song and it didn’t disappoint. It has a great hook and her voice makes it even better with how raspy it is.
‘Just Like Heaven’ Thnksfrthmmrs - This song takes a couple listens to get into, for me at least. I’ve gone from not understanding this song to respecting it after a few listens. Although I'm still not in love with it, I’d go back to listen to this before most of the other submissions so that means something.
‘Over’ coolKat - I liked listening to this one and it fits perfectly with the theme. My biggest criticism is that the chorus is too simplistic.
‘Fantasy Girl’ Maxi1234 - I’m sure this does well in music critic circles, but I couldn’t get into this one. It was too all over the place compared to music that I’m used to listening to, I wasn’t sure what to make of it.
