Since it's challenge EIGHT, this task will be inspired by the 1980s. Last season we had a challenge inspired by the 1990's that I enjoyed so I hope I can recapture that excitement.
Similar to last challenge you will be submitting two songs since there's so few of you left.
Here's the rules for your two submissions:
[I decided to slightly change the rules for the first song submission]
Song 1: Submit a song released during the 1980s. Simple as. However there is one twist: The song can not have peaked within the top five of the Billboard Hot 100. This will make listening to your submissions more interesting as they won't all be songs I've heard dozens of times at parties or on the oldies station. If you need any help verifying this, just let me know!
Song 2: Submit a song that was released recently (since 2020), but is heavily inspired by the 1980s. This could be due to the lyrics, the production, the instruments, you name it. As long as it sounds like it could've been a hit 40 years prior.
I'm excited to hear what you guys come up with. I won't have a strict deadline this round because it's Memorial Day weekend and I understand people are spending time with family Just submit your entries as soon as you can, since I trust you to at this point of the game. Good luck!!
[Prohibited Artists]
