This round is inspired by two of the most coveted Grammy awards: Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Although these awards sound very similar, it's their differences that will be the basis for your task.
In simplest terms: Record of the Year awards production, while Song of the Year awards songwriting.
Song 1- Submit a song that is lyrically exceptional. One that tells me a story and has me clinging to every word. I will mainly be judging on that aspect, but if the vocals or production make the song hard to listen to, I will take off points.
Song 2 - Submit a song that excels in it's production and has a great instrumental track that accompanies it. I would still like a song with lyrics, but submit a song that could sound as good if you were just to hear the instrumental version. Similar to your other submission, I will still be judging on other aspects of the song, just not as heavily.
I hope I explained that well, but if I didn't shoot me a mail and I'll answer any questions. Good luck!
Alright, time to take more risks after my safe play last round.
For LYRICS I'm submitting Hate Me, a song about the singer's mom continuing to show love and care despite all the horrible decisions he's made and how he feels he doesn't deserve it.
And for SOUND... Comforting Sounds. Yes, this is 9 minutes. Idc. The soundscapes on display here are nothing short of magical. I would recommend listening with a good set of headphones.
