Eurovision 2023 Rankings: 2nd

May 8, 2023 by spinfur
So unlike last year I'm actually going to jump the gun, and since rehearsals are starting, it's time to really post my Eurovision rankings, and my thoughts of all the songs from this year, and now hopefully I won't have to scramble getting this out before the Live shows happen.

I also want to preface and say this edition is really strong, and there are so many good songs I really like so some of these cuts are going to painful to see, you have been warned.

ANYWAYS it's time to release this years Eurovision opinions! Let's begin!

2nd: 馃嚫馃嚜 Sweden - "Tattoo" by Loreen

Is it fair to really put a goddess against mortals? We all know Loreen from 2012 when she won with her song Euphoria, and she's been trying to return because I remember her song Statements that failed to make the contest in 2017, but this is honestly miles better than statements. This feels like Euphoria but like a bit more freshness built into it, and if you know anything about me I'm a HUGE sucker for an emotional ballad I can relate to, like if you don't believe me, take a lot at my top 2 slots last year and that'll show you that I really enjoy strong ballads. I think Loreen's odds in the betting odds are boosted because she's known as the goddess of Eurovision, however this song is still super strong on it's own, and I wouldn't mind seeing this win.

I also love how Loreen has matured through the years, I don't really see much on her regarding social media, but from just from her videos, and just her behavior is just very majestic and mystical.  You can tell she's just here to have fun and experience the same feelings she felt back in 2012, and I really appreciate it. Also can we talk about her voice and how it's just even more rich then it was before? Like everything just had a glow up since the last time we saw her on the Eurovision stage, and I'm so happy to see her back since I think a lot of us had memories celebrating her win back in 2012.
