Eurovision 2023 Rankings: 7th - 5th

May 8, 2023 by spinfur
So unlike last year I'm actually going to jump the gun, and since rehearsals are starting, it's time to really post my Eurovision rankings, and my thoughts of all the songs from this year, and now hopefully I won't have to scramble getting this out before the Live shows happen.

I also want to preface and say this edition is really strong, and there are so many good songs I really like so some of these cuts are going to painful to see, you have been warned.

ANYWAYS it's time to release this years Eurovision opinions! Let's begin!

7th: 馃嚤馃嚬 Lithuania - "Stay" by Monika Linkyte

And the award for the song that had the biggest growth on the during this Eurovision season, it's one of those songs you really have no opinion of when you first listen to it, then it gets stuck in your head, and then you just singing it out in public, and you just have to listen to it again to really find the true meaning. This song is so catchy in some strange way, and I just can't help but enjoy every bit of it. Plus the more I listen to the lyrics, the more I relate to the song, and the more I'm just really happy she actually won the National final. She's such a class act, and even though she's a Eurovision veteran I can't help but love this song more and more everytime I listen to it. This song is so amazing, and I just really hope she qualifies, like I really need her in the final since she just shines a light on the song, and don't even get me started on her vocals they are honestly amazing.

6th: 馃嚜馃嚜 Estonia - "Bridges" by Alika

Another artist that I was introduced to in HSC with her ICONIC song Bon Apetite and GOOD LORD this was such a different direction then what I was expected her to take, but hey it actually works out for her because this song is just so beautiful, and her vocals and just her voice just everything is such a total package, it's such a strong song that I could close my eyes and imagine myself flowing with the music like water, or even just listening to it in my car on a long drive away from a place I hate. This song just takes your on a journey, and the emotion of the song, the absolutely build up, there's so much potential in this song and I really am in love with this song I just can''t say really anything bad about it, yes it's a ballad you should know I'm a sucker for a good ballad.

5th: 馃嚠馃嚤 Israel - "Unicorn" by Noa Kirel

I love the absolute levels of the reactions I've seen on this whole song, like it had its ups and downs but the more I hear this song the more I really appreciate what it does, and like people complain it fails at mixing genres, but I think this is quintaesstiel Noa Kirel... like she brings pop, she brings club, she brings camp, what more do you want? I can't but to jam out to this song, and even though at first I thought the chorus needed like a drop to bring it all together, I still love the song as a package. Plus we need to talk about that rehearsal clip, THAT is how you fucking dance the house down boots. I cannot WAIT to see this live because it's going to be ICONIC. Israel wanted to redeem themselves from MBD, and I'm going to be completely honest THEY DID THAT. This song is SOOO good and this is the perfect song to really present themselves on the Eurovision stage.
