So unlike last year I'm actually going to jump the gun, and since rehearsals are starting, it's time to really post my Eurovision rankings, and my thoughts of all the songs from this year, and now hopefully I won't have to scramble getting this out before the Live shows happen.
I also want to preface and say this edition is really strong, and there are so many good songs I really like so some of these cuts are going to painful to see, you have been warned.
ANYWAYS it's time to release this years Eurovision opinions! Let's begin!
22nd: 馃嚦馃嚤 Netherlands - "Burning Daylight" by Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper
One thing I've come to know about The Netherlands is they really know how to cook up a pleasant ballad, however this isn't the best they've send. When it comes to things like Duncan Laurence and S10 who have stunning vocals and beautiful emotions, this just lacks in comparison. Also I have a gripe about how they basically used Duncan as a selling point to essentially sell the song, and that's like a huge gripe because Netherlands has been using Duncan as their claim to fame. The song is okay, but the spotlight should be on Mia and Dion who are the main singers of the song. I really don't know much about them, and the fact they had to adjust the key down so they could sing it properly. The whole things just bothers me because it seems like they are just throwing Mia and Dion to the wind and giving up on them. Like I said song isn't bad, but it isn't great either.
21st: 馃嚤馃嚮 Latvia - "Aij膩" by Sudden Lights
The song is a song that has strong chorus, but the song really lacks which the rest of it. I think there's some appreciation to be found with how they are staging it because sometimes the simple things really bring strong impressions, and I think their staging here is really nice from what I see in the rehearsal clips and the national final, but as for the song itself, yeah it can fade into the background and become very forgettable. I really enjoy the chorus, it's so beautiful and the vocals are there which is top notch, as for the rest of the song I don't really have anything else to say because I can't exactly remember it. Nothing much else to say, really strong chorus, but everything else is lacking so I'm just going to move on.
20th: 馃嚥馃嚛 Moldova - "Soarele 艧i Luna" by Pasha Parfeni
Honestly I know I placed Moldova 20th here, and I had them SUPER low last edition, but I have to admit that Moldova is a Eurovision powerhouse and there isn't any denying that they always bring it with something unique and fun. I remember last year dancing to their song, and this year gives a different vibe but I still want to dance, and have fun with this song. It gives me very witchy vibes with the song, and the flutes and traditional instruments involved just really make me smile. This was really hard putting this song so low, but this is getting to the point where I have to put songs I really enjoy lower then songs I love. Moldova needs to eventually win Eurovision because I think they deserve it after being fun and keeping that Eurovision spirit of togetherness.

I had never heard of them. But Mia & Dion are lucky there is a studio recording because when they finally performed this live.. It was so out of tune it was embarrassing lmao. They better get their act together or I'll be ashamed watching our performance this week
