So unlike last year I'm actually going to jump the gun, and since rehearsals are starting, it's time to really post my Eurovision rankings, and my thoughts of all the songs from this year, and now hopefully I won't have to scramble getting this out before the Live shows happen.
I also want to preface and say this edition is really strong, and there are so many good songs I really like so some of these cuts are going to painful to see, you have been warned.
ANYWAYS it's time to release this years Eurovision opinions! Let's begin!
16th: 馃嚭馃嚘 Ukraine - "Heart Of Steel" by Tvorchi
Honestly I was happy hearing that Tvorchi won the national final as I recognized that name from HSC, the song itself is also a pretty strong grower on me, like I really love the strong message, and the production of the song is just amazing. Lyrically it's pretty nice as well, like I can't fault Stefania last year because it was such a strong song, but I feel this has the same energy as Ukraine's song last year which is really good. I think this year will be a bit more fair in regards to Ukraine's participation, however I think it is a contender as just it builds on everything. Not the best song from them, but I really think this was such a strong song from them and good entry to try to keep their crown.
15th: 馃嚚馃嚟 Switzerland - "Watergun" by Remo Forrer
When this song first came out I remember seeing the reactions saying that this song was worse then Switzerland's song last year, and that they are gonna flop the televote, and etc etc. and while half of that maybe true, I think this song is MILES better than Switzerland's song last year. I could actually see this song qualifying over something like Netherlands, and I know people are going "well they have friends in this semi" well the audience vote doesn't vote based on friends a lot of times. I think song is so beautiful, and I'm always a sucker for sad boy ballad that means something to me. The lyrics are really beautiful, and I just really love his voice. I think people counted this song out, and never really gave it a chance. This song is just really beautiful, and although it's not my favorite, I'm a fan and this artist isn't selling their song out for NFT's which is another plus!
14th: 馃嚞馃嚙 United Kingdom - "I Wrote A Song" by Mae Muller
Now we're really getting into difficult cuts because I think from this point forward I have every song left added to my playlist. So it's just a matter of what I would listen to repeat on hours on end. Mae Muller's song is a BOP let's be honest, I love songs that just give me fuck your ex mentality, and it's such a fun and upbeat song. I also love that this song is closing the grand final because it would be an excellent closer especially Mae and just her energy in general, plus all the clapbacks she's given to people based on her pre-party performances when she was sick. This is a song I absolutely live for, and the energy is honestly unmatched. I hate having to cut this song right here, but for now there is where I will place it!
