Eurovision 2024 Rankings: 33rd-31st

Mar 21, 2024 by spinfur
Hello everyone I am back once again to give my unsolicited reviews and rankings for this years Eurovision entries. I'm just gonna jump on the horse and get ready to rank all of the entries because what else would I do?

Oh before I start I will preface this every blog that I will not be including that one country in my rankings, I want to stand in solidarity of Palestine so this is my way of doing so. If you have an issue with it then this isn't the Eurovision blog ranking for you .

Without further ado let's begin!

Spain - "ZORRA" by Nebulossa

Again another one of those songs that are really just "what is this" like I could appreciate Eaea last year because of the cultural heritage behind the song despite me not liking it but I'm just really confused at this song being selected. Was BenidormFest that bad or something? It also gives me a dated sound that I don't think is for this contest, and while I do appreciate the message of woman empowerment, and also a nod in the music video to trans musical artist Manuela Trasobares. It's just not a song I can personally get behind, and it just seems very dated but a bit more modern then Iceland's was. This song isn't offensive, but I'm not really hopping on the Spanish train for this song. It's okay, but nothing that I really like so unfortunately I have to cut it here.

Czechia - "Pedestal" by Aiko

I'm sorry but I honestly wanted Red Flag Parade to win, and I was honestly shocked seeing Aiko win this National Final. I mean I've heard of some of Aiko's songs like I really enjoyed her song Instincts, but this one really fell flat for me. Something about the beginning vocals really are grating to my ears, and she can't really sing... I mean Czechia usually has problems with their acts not singing well, but this one I don't know. It's a fun chorus so that's why it's not the WORSE song in the selection, but something about this song is still a bit grating to my ears so I have to cut it here since the songs above are less offensive to my ears then sections of this song. It's decent for what it is but not strong enough for me to keep it any longer.

Moldova - "In The Middle" by Natalia Barbu

Moldova usually serves decent songs or song that I can grow to like, but this one I'm not so sure about, I think they kinda dropped the ball compared to the other entries on the list here, and bringing back yet another returning artist is a bit risky. This song is just super forgettable to me, and I can't really remember much about it except the violins which says a lot since if I can't remember anything else from the song it isn't something I'm gonna really support. I do hope Moldova changes up their staging a bit before the semis because I can see potential, and I understand the meaning of the song relates to their staging, but for me it's just not going anything, so I think it's honestly forgettable. Sorry Natalia, I have to cut you here.

Moldova
Czechia
Spain
Iceland
Finland
Armenia
