Hello everyone I am back once again to give my unsolicited reviews and rankings for this years Eurovision entries. I'm just gonna jump on the horse and get ready to rank all of the entries because what else would I do?
Oh before I start I will preface this every blog that I will not be including that one country in my rankings, I want to stand in solidarity of Palestine so this is my way of doing so. If you have an issue with it then this isn't the Eurovision blog ranking for you .
Without further ado let's begin!
36th: 馃嚘馃嚥 Armenia - "Jako" by LADANIVA
From the very top of my rankings last year to the very bottom it suffers the similar fate as Spain from last year, it's just not for me. I really think her voice is really grating to my ears and I do love the cultural elements but it really isn't enough for me to actually like the song. I don't know something about this really I just can't get behind especially how Armenia created this beautiful song last year. While this is beautiful in it's own way, just not something I really like for my music tastes. The voice isn't really something I like, and I just had issues listening through the full thing cause I'm not the audience for it. Good for them to bring some Armenian heritage to their music this year, just really not for me.
35th: 馃嚝馃嚠 Finland - "No Rules" by Windows95man
Finland... what in the god's name is this? You went from something wild and crazy that is Cha Cha Cha to this... disappointing song. The main thing I hear is that deep voiced man sounding so similar to the "You touched my tralala" man, and now I cannot unhear it. This song is so bad and the only reason it's not last is at least the other person can sing pretty decently? I guess? There's some elements I enjoy here but it says so much that the jury in the Finnish national final gave this the least amount of points. It's not for me, it's not really a good song in my opinion, and Finland really dropped the ball here. I don't want to listen to this ever again... but unfortunately I'm going to have to come May so... I guess good luck me!
34th: 馃嚠馃嚫 Iceland - "Scared of Heights" by Hera Bj枚rk
This would be a good song... if this Eurovision was in the 1980's. It's not terrible but it's not good either, it's really just super dated that in comparison to the other songs I cannot rank this song anywhere near the top of the list, not even near the middle, just overall this seems like a good place for it right here and now. Honestly I saw a youtube comment about "Can we have Bjork? We have Bjork at home" and this is the Bjork at home lol. She's gonna have fun out there in Malmo for sure, but we all know this isn't going to qualify anytime soon. It's good to see her back, but times have changed, now it's time to move on. As I shall move on with the rankings!
