So unlike last year I'm actually going to jump the gun, and since rehearsals are starting, it's time to really post my Eurovision rankings, and my thoughts of all the songs from this year, and now hopefully I won't have to scramble getting this out before the Live shows happen.
I also want to preface and say this edition is really strong, and there are so many good songs I really like so some of these cuts are going to painful to see, you have been warned.
ANYWAYS it's time to release this years Eurovision opinions! Let's begin!
13th: 馃嚞馃嚜 Georgia - "Echo" by Iru
GOD THE VOCALS HERE! Okay so I was introduced to Iru back in HSC when her song No Jerk Around Me was participating, and from there I knew she was an artist to be on the look out for. Georgia is such an amazing song vocally like the girl knows how to sing, and I think it's pretty cool we see those people from JESC grown up and coming back to participate in the real Eurovision. I know people gripe on the lyrics and how it doesn't make sense, but honestly for this song I really don't care, and how she performs it, and just the art behind the song. The way she just performs it is absolutely stunning, and I really hope to see Georgia qualify to the final this year because they are due for it.
12th: 馃嚚馃嚲 Cyprus - "Break A Broken Heart" by Andrew Lambrou
Now speaking of vocals bibles, here's the best male vocal in the competition in my opinion. I really enjoyed seeing Andrew in the Australian national final last year, like sure I wanted Sheldon to win, but his vocals were insane. I'm also glad to see him do a ballad unlike last year where he did a more upbeat song. Honestly I would have preferred Australia to snatch him up for this year, but it seems Cyprus snatched him up first which I'm not complaining. This song is really stunning, and I just think I really love how his voice sounds in this song. It's not top 10 worthy, but just the absolute insanity that chorus has really does wonders to my mind so I'm happy to place him here.
11th: 馃嚚馃嚳 Czechia - "My Sister's Crown" by Vesna
This was another song that kinda grew on me, like I much preferred Pam Rabbit as one of her song's was actually my top spotify song for I think 2020 or 2019, either way when I first heard this after all the songs were released I just didn't understand the hype. Like the message is super strong, but the song itself I had mixed feeling about. I think they were giving such high expectations, and now that every song is out, and we get to soak into the songs given to us this year, this song isn't as hyped as it originally was. Though I'm not going to knock Vesna down fully because the song is truly amazing, and the message comes through and is really powerful. I also really love the rap part that they include in the song, like I wish they brought more of their music video to the staging, but hey it's still a strong song and I wouldn't be mad if they qualified to the final!
