The race has been under way for a week now, so the coordinators of the event have decided to throw some twists at the racers.
You may have noticed that Pollster now has a little friend... UTurn!
UTurn's purpose is simple. When you see UTurn in a game, it means that the winner of the game will be able to U-Turn a player who is participating in Race to Gold. The specifics of the U-Turn will differ each game, but will be outlined in UTurn's enrollment message, so be sure to pay attention.
A few notes on U-Turns:
-- U-Turns are not exclusive to RTG accounts. If an non-RTG account wins a game that UTurn is in, they will be granted the power to UTurn someone.
-- Once won, U-Turns will need to be used during a specified time period. If not used, the public will be able to decide which account gets U-turned.
-- In games such as Frookies and Fastings, UTurn will only vote if he is the only account that has not done so, in order to prevent delaying the game. All actions in the game (nominations, voting, etc) will be random.org'd.

It's almost time to get started with the Race to Gold event of 2022. Sign Ups will begin starting NOW (read the below heading titled "Sign-Up Process" This blog will contain all of the details that you need to get started with the race as well as the overall rules of the race.

Rules of the Race

Players will make an additional account and will race to be the first one to get to the specified color level (Gold). There will be checkpoints along the way where you will be required to be at a certain point or you will be disqualified. There will also be little challenges to earn extra T$ or a chance to "U-Turn" some of your competitors.
This year, prizes will be given to the top 3 players. Prizes will be as follows:
To get 2nd or 3rd, you must be the 2nd or 3rd player to reach Gold level. The race will technically not end until 3 people get Gold. Additional T$ will be given throughout the race.
Original Accounts

Players WILL be allowed to stay on their original accounts during the race. HOWEVER, original accounts MAY NOT play ANY game (Fastings, Castings, Rookies, Frookies, Surviovr, Stars, Hunger Games) during Race to Gold. This INCLUDES current Survivor streaks.
Players will be given a 7 day grace period to be eliminated from "long games" (Castings, Rookies, Stars, Hunger Games, Survivor). If you are not out of your week long games by August 27th at 12:00PM EST, you will be disqualified. Any playing of fast games (Fastings or Frookies) once the Race begins will also result in disqualification.
The only exception to the above is if you make Stars finals on your original account and it does not end until Sunday, August 28th.
ANY games played with both your Main Account and Race to Gold account in any capacity will not only result in a disqualification, but you will be banned for use of multiple accounts.
Original accounts are allowed to maintain shops, blog, play or host group games, and use other features of the website that DOES NOT include playing the games listed above. This rule is subject to change. Race to Gold accounts are not allowed to purchase designs from shops owned by the original account. The same goes for using your Race to Gold account to cheat in any other capacity. YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND BANNED.
Remaining anonymous is completely optional. It may help or hurt you to reveal yourself, but that is part of the strategy. All accounts will be revealed at the end, especially the winners.
Sign-Up Process

READ THIS PORTION CAREFULLY. ANY VIOLATION OF THE SIGN UP PROCESS WILL RESULT IN DELAYS FOR YOU GETTING STARTED OR POTENTIAL DISQUALIFICATION.
In order to sign up for Race to Gold, you must do the following:
1. Decide on your Race to Gold account name and CREATE IT. You may do so now.
2. DO NOT PLAY ANY GAMES, BLOG, MAIL ANYONE OR USE ANY WEBSITE FEATURES ASIDE FROM CHANGING YOUR AVATAR UNTIL THE RACE OFFICIALLY STARTS.
3. Mail Pollster (https://tengaged.com/mail/?action=mailto&to=Pollster ) with the name of your Race to Gold account.
4. Your main account/Race to Gold account will then be added to a master list that will only be seen by coordinators of the event.
5. Wait until the Race begins tomorrow to start Racing.
NOTE ON VERIFICATION EMAILS: You may not initially receive your verification email to validate your account. This is normal. The automated system will flag your Race to Gold account as a multiple account. This is why it is crucial to mail Pollster with your information (not only to be added to the master list and be able to participate, but also so your account gets validated. I will go through and re-send verification emails throughout the day, so keep an eye on your inbox and do not panic if it takes a bit to get there. I'll re-send them all before the Race begins.
DO NOT MAIL MODERATORS REGARDING RACE TO GOLD SIGN-UPS (unless it's just a question). ONLY MAIL POLLSTER FOR OFFICIAL SIGN UP.
Checkpoints/Quests

Periodically, there may be checkpoints that require you to be at a certain point in the race in order to avoid disqualification. For example, there may be a requirement for you to reach 200 karma by a specific date or you will be disqualified. These may or may not occur and will entirely depend on the status of the race going forward.
There will also be side-quests that may be achieved by Race to Gold accounts. Winners of side quests will receive their T$ at the end of the race on their main account. Some will be known in advance, others are hidden. Sidequests will be posted on Pollster's profile at the start of the race.
NOTE: The first person to achieve the quest AND mail Pollster that they have done so in order to "claim" the win will receive the credit for it. We will not be monitoring these heavily (besides the hidden ones) and therefore it is your responsibility to keep on top of them. Just because you're the first to achieve one of them does not mean you'll get credit, unless you are the first to mail us regarding your win.
There will also be events throughout the race that will provide users with the opportunity to "U-Turn" another player. This may include the Tengaged public at times, so be aware. U-Turns will be in the form of a temporary ban (such as 24-48 hour bans).
We will also be sure to provide periodic updates on the Race to Gold accounts that are still in the race.
Automated System

I will do my best to monitor the automated system throughout the race. This system is designed to identify and limit multiple accounts. I will override it as necessary, but if there are any issues with your account (such as a limit in plussing power, etc), please reach out to moderation and we will assist.
Edits/Questions

Any answers to questions or edits to the blog will be posted here, so please periodically check in to see if there is any additional information provided.
Edit 1. Verification emails have mostly not been sent out. They will be sent out prior to the race
Edit 2. There is no restrictions on purchasing T$. Us as moderators do not feel comfortable forbidding this without approval from randomize
Edit 3. Gifting your main account from your racing account is not permitted. Gifting your racing account from your main account is permitted.
Edit 4. Any use of your main account to further your Racing account is prohibited. An example of this is spamming a design into auctions on your racing account and purchasing it on your main account.
Race to Gold will begin this weekend. Sign ups will commence on Thursday or Friday, with additional details being released then. The official race will begin Saturday or Sunday, depending on the determined sign up process.

RE: Stars Wins ( danio) -- Stars is entirely a public game, so should the public vote someone in the Race to win, then that will be taken into consideration.
RE: Current Games ( MrMinaj) - We will give people a grace period if they're in a current game. They just will not be able to join new games after the start of the race. You can finish your current ones.
RE: Transferring Karma ( Joee323) - Karma transfers are not possible, so karma earned on your RTG account cannot be transferred.
RE: Anonymity of RTG Accounts ( Snails) - Yes, it will be public knowledge that an account will be a Race to Gold account, but not who is behind the account. Previous Race to Black events would include update blogs that updated who was still in the race by blogging a list of MAIN accounts still in the race. We will be blogging a list of RTG accounts still in the race, rather than main accounts. That way, you'll be able to stay anonymous, if you choose to do so
RE: Double Voting in Stars ( Lucas_RFS) - Two votes on the same IP wouldn't count in Stars anyway.
RE: Enrollment time ( MatthewAlvarez) - We're ironing out the details, but we expect that "sign ups" would begin on Thursday or Friday. Then, accounts would be created leading up to Saturday, when people could begin joining games.
RE: NewNightmare7 - TBD, not sure what previous events did with this, but this is probably a concern either way. People could just get their friends to join in a premade, and not mark it as a "charity." This is a concern no matter the way we look at it.
I wanted to blog to see if there was any interest in the hosting of a variation of the previously known "Race to Black" event. I've put Race to Gold in the title as that seems like an appropriate jump, but I'm open to ideas.
The rules are simple. Anyone looking to participate in the Race will make a new account (when directed by moderation) and the first person to a determined color level/karma amount, wins the event (likely Gold to account for the increase in game payouts). Potential prizes may also be given to runner-up(s).
Rules would be fully ironed out later on this month (IF THERE IS ENOUGH INTEREST), but before going through with the planning, we wanted to see if there would be enough interest in the event overall.

I hope you all had a good time hunting for eggs this weekend. After a weekend that was full of a ton of work, I can happily say that the results of the 2022 Tengaged Easter Egg Hunt have been finalized.
EDIT: Prizes have been handed out! Congrats again.
As a reminder, the top 3 grand prize recipients will receive the following prizes:
1ST PLACE: 500T$ + 1 Stars Ticket

As an incentive for people to look for eggs even if they felt like they were behind in the race for the grand prize, those who found eggs each day were also entered into a daily raffle. Participants will also receive 3T$ per egg that they claimed. The totals will be posted below. Prizes may take a day or two to all go out. Stars ticket recipients will be mailed more information about their ticket in the coming days.

PLEASE NOTE: If there are any discrepancies with your personal counts and ours, please feel free to let us know. There were some instances of people deleting comments (which is almost always caught) so that may explain some differences in your personal tallies. In some instances, two people may have been credited due to users being filtered and mailing us before the egg was claimed. Missing eggs are a combination of unclaimed regular or golden eggs.
Happy Easter Weekend (Or Happy Friday for those who don’t celebrate)! The Tengaged Moderation team has teamed up with SmoothStalker12 once again to bring back the Official Tengaged Easter Egg Hunt!
Here is how the 2022 Tengaged Easter Egg Hunt will work:
— The Event will take place tomorrow (Saturday), Sunday, and Monday.
— Each day, approximately 200 total eggs will be hidden on a Tengaged user's **FIRST** blog. A total of approximately 600 eggs will be hidden throughout the weekend.
— The eggs will be hidden throughout the day, meaning if you are late at seeing the announcement, that does not mean you do not have a chance!
— The first user (and ONLY the first) to comment that they claim the egg will receive credit for finding the egg. You must comment directly below on the blog where the egg is posted, not on this blog. The exact comment that you post does not matter, but make sure to say something along the lines of "claims the egg."
— All you have to do is look in the 1st blog a user has made and look for an Easter Egg. They will have been posted either by brandonpinzu, CheapCheep, koolness234 or SmoothStalker12. See below for some examples. Make sure that they were posted on either April 16th, 17th, or 18th, and were only posted by those users.
— Eggs only count if you claim them for yourself. You cannot claim for another user.
PRIZES:
— You will receive 3T$ for EVERY EGG that you claim. There will be a cap of 600T$ for the weekend to be earned through this method. So, if a user finds over 200 eggs, they will still count towards their grand total, but they will not receive the additional 3T$ per egg beyond 600T$.
— Users who find the top 3 amounts of eggs will be eligible for grand prizes:
1ST PLACE: 500T$ + 1 Stars Ticket
2ND PLACE: 300T$ + 1 Stars Ticket
3RD PLACE: 200T$ + 1 Stars Ticket
— Each day, three raffles will occur where two random users who found an egg will be entered into a draw to win either a Stars ticket or 100T$ (one of each per day). That means, in addition to the prizes above, three additional stars tickets and three 100T$ prizes will be given out. If you find an egg, your name is entered into the draw. Finding more than one egg will not enter you multiple times.
— If you win a Stars ticket, you can choose when to be entered into Stars. More info will be given to those who win them.
Additionally, there will be some GOLDEN EGGS hidden throughout the weekend. If you find a golden egg, you will receive 100T$. They will be much rarer and much more difficult to find, so good luck!
NOTE: HIDDEN EGGS MAY BE HIDDEN ON INACTIVE USERS BLOGS. IT CAN BE ANY TENGAGED USER WHO IS NOT BANNED.
