It's almost time to get started with the Race to Gold event of 2022. Sign Ups will begin starting NOW (read the below heading titled "Sign-Up Process" This blog will contain all of the details that you need to get started with the race as well as the overall rules of the race.

Rules of the Race

Players will make an additional account and will race to be the first one to get to the specified color level (Gold). There will be checkpoints along the way where you will be required to be at a certain point or you will be disqualified. There will also be little challenges to earn extra T$ or a chance to "U-Turn" some of your competitors.
This year, prizes will be given to the top 3 players. Prizes will be as follows:
To get 2nd or 3rd, you must be the 2nd or 3rd player to reach Gold level. The race will technically not end until 3 people get Gold. Additional T$ will be given throughout the race.
Original Accounts

Players WILL be allowed to stay on their original accounts during the race. HOWEVER, original accounts MAY NOT play ANY game (Fastings, Castings, Rookies, Frookies, Surviovr, Stars, Hunger Games) during Race to Gold. This INCLUDES current Survivor streaks.
Players will be given a 7 day grace period to be eliminated from "long games" (Castings, Rookies, Stars, Hunger Games, Survivor). If you are not out of your week long games by August 27th at 12:00PM EST, you will be disqualified. Any playing of fast games (Fastings or Frookies) once the Race begins will also result in disqualification.
The only exception to the above is if you make Stars finals on your original account and it does not end until Sunday, August 28th.
ANY games played with both your Main Account and Race to Gold account in any capacity will not only result in a disqualification, but you will be banned for use of multiple accounts.
Original accounts are allowed to maintain shops, blog, play or host group games, and use other features of the website that DOES NOT include playing the games listed above. This rule is subject to change. Race to Gold accounts are not allowed to purchase designs from shops owned by the original account. The same goes for using your Race to Gold account to cheat in any other capacity. YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND BANNED.
Remaining anonymous is completely optional. It may help or hurt you to reveal yourself, but that is part of the strategy. All accounts will be revealed at the end, especially the winners.
Sign-Up Process

READ THIS PORTION CAREFULLY. ANY VIOLATION OF THE SIGN UP PROCESS WILL RESULT IN DELAYS FOR YOU GETTING STARTED OR POTENTIAL DISQUALIFICATION.
In order to sign up for Race to Gold, you must do the following:
1. Decide on your Race to Gold account name and CREATE IT. You may do so now.
2. DO NOT PLAY ANY GAMES, BLOG, MAIL ANYONE OR USE ANY WEBSITE FEATURES ASIDE FROM CHANGING YOUR AVATAR UNTIL THE RACE OFFICIALLY STARTS.
3. Mail Pollster (https://tengaged.com/mail/?action=mailto&to=Pollster ) with the name of your Race to Gold account.
4. Your main account/Race to Gold account will then be added to a master list that will only be seen by coordinators of the event.
5. Wait until the Race begins tomorrow to start Racing.
NOTE ON VERIFICATION EMAILS: You may not initially receive your verification email to validate your account. This is normal. The automated system will flag your Race to Gold account as a multiple account. This is why it is crucial to mail Pollster with your information (not only to be added to the master list and be able to participate, but also so your account gets validated. I will go through and re-send verification emails throughout the day, so keep an eye on your inbox and do not panic if it takes a bit to get there. I'll re-send them all before the Race begins.
DO NOT MAIL MODERATORS REGARDING RACE TO GOLD SIGN-UPS (unless it's just a question). ONLY MAIL POLLSTER FOR OFFICIAL SIGN UP.
Checkpoints/Quests

Periodically, there may be checkpoints that require you to be at a certain point in the race in order to avoid disqualification. For example, there may be a requirement for you to reach 200 karma by a specific date or you will be disqualified. These may or may not occur and will entirely depend on the status of the race going forward.
There will also be side-quests that may be achieved by Race to Gold accounts. Winners of side quests will receive their T$ at the end of the race on their main account. Some will be known in advance, others are hidden. Sidequests will be posted on Pollster's profile at the start of the race.
NOTE: The first person to achieve the quest AND mail Pollster that they have done so in order to "claim" the win will receive the credit for it. We will not be monitoring these heavily (besides the hidden ones) and therefore it is your responsibility to keep on top of them. Just because you're the first to achieve one of them does not mean you'll get credit, unless you are the first to mail us regarding your win.
There will also be events throughout the race that will provide users with the opportunity to "U-Turn" another player. This may include the Tengaged public at times, so be aware. U-Turns will be in the form of a temporary ban (such as 24-48 hour bans).
We will also be sure to provide periodic updates on the Race to Gold accounts that are still in the race.
Automated System

I will do my best to monitor the automated system throughout the race. This system is designed to identify and limit multiple accounts. I will override it as necessary, but if there are any issues with your account (such as a limit in plussing power, etc), please reach out to moderation and we will assist.
Edits/Questions

Any answers to questions or edits to the blog will be posted here, so please periodically check in to see if there is any additional information provided.
Edit 1. Verification emails have mostly not been sent out. They will be sent out prior to the race
Edit 2. There is no restrictions on purchasing T$. Us as moderators do not feel comfortable forbidding this without approval from randomize
Edit 3. Gifting your main account from your racing account is not permitted. Gifting your racing account from your main account is permitted.
Edit 4. Any use of your main account to further your Racing account is prohibited. An example of this is spamming a design into auctions on your racing account and purchasing it on your main account.
if there are u turns for other players in the race, does that mean it's public knowledge which accounts are RTG accounts? you could disguise as a new user?
