Race to Gold will begin this weekend. Sign ups will commence on Thursday or Friday, with additional details being released then. The official race will begin Saturday or Sunday, depending on the determined sign up process.
For those of you who were not around during the previous iterations of this event (previously known as "Race to Black"), the rules are simple. Players will make an additional account and will race to be the first one to get to the specified color level (Gold). There will be checkpoints along the way where you will be required to be at a certain point or you will be disqualified. There will also be little challenges to earn extra T$ or a change to "U-Turn" some of your competitors.
This year, prizes will be given to the top 3 players. Prizes will be as follows:
To get 2nd or 3rd, you must be the 2nd or 3rd player to reach Gold level. The race will technically not end until 3 people get Gold. Additional T$ will be given throughout the race.
NOTE: Players will be allowed to remain logged in on their current accounts, but will NOT be allowed to play games at all (including any current Survivor streaks). We have decided on this rule to allow players a better chance at hiding their identities on their racing accounts, should they choose to do so.
From now until this weekend, I suggest starting to think about what you want your accounts to be named and whether you would like to participate. Any early account creation will result in a ban, so don't bother.
All of the above is subject to change between now and the official beginning of the race. Comment below if you have any questions.
RE: Shops, Group Games ( gagaluv, NanoNerd) - The only restrictions are games (Fastings, Castings, Rookies, Frookies, Survivor, Stars, Hunger Games). All other features of the website can be used
RE: Survivor Streaks ( Eilish) -- You will have to end your Survivor streaks to play.
RE: Staying on Racing Accounts ( NanoNerd) -- Winners (top 3) will be given the option to remain on their racing account.
RE: Current Stars Players ( NanoNerd) -- Current Stars players can finish their game and still participate.
RE: Remaining Anonymous ( Sam_Hamwich) - Remaining anonymous is completely optional. It may help or hurt you to reveal yourself, but that is part of the strategy.
RE: Staying on Racing Accounts (again) ( Sam_Hamwich, JavyBaez) - TBD on whether winners can go back and forth between accounts. I was mistaken in thinking that all accounts were permed (like lonlee was when she remained on IceCaps). I'll get back to y'all on this.
RE: Prize going to main or racing account ( Sam_Hamwich) - You can choose.
RE: Buying T$ ( Eilish) - TBD on whether buying T$ will be allowed. I expect yes, but not sure about this yet.
RE: Stars Wins ( danio) -- Stars is entirely a public game, so should the public vote someone in the Race to win, then that will be taken into consideration.
RE: Current Games ( MrMinaj) - We will give people a grace period if they're in a current game. They just will not be able to join new games after the start of the race. You can finish your current ones.
RE: Transferring Karma ( Joee323) - Karma transfers are not possible, so karma earned on your RTG account cannot be transferred.
RE: Anonymity of RTG Accounts ( Snails) - Yes, it will be public knowledge that an account will be a Race to Gold account, but not who is behind the account. Previous Race to Black events would include update blogs that updated who was still in the race by blogging a list of MAIN accounts still in the race. We will be blogging a list of RTG accounts still in the race, rather than main accounts. That way, you'll be able to stay anonymous, if you choose to do so
RE: Double Voting in Stars ( Lucas_RFS) - Two votes on the same IP wouldn't count in Stars anyway.
RE: Enrollment time ( MatthewAlvarez) - We're ironing out the details, but we expect that "sign ups" would begin on Thursday or Friday. Then, accounts would be created leading up to Saturday, when people could begin joining games.
RE: NewNightmare7 - TBD, not sure what previous events did with this, but this is probably a concern either way. People could just get their friends to join in a premade, and not mark it as a "charity." This is a concern no matter the way we look at it.

And also, I’m currently in stars but I’m thinking about possibly participating. Will I have to be done with stars before I can start racing? Because It’ll pretty much wrap up right at the time it begins, but I could possibly still be in the game when the Signups begin

Sorry, I have another question… will everyone’s race to gold usernames be revealed to the public when the event is over, or will we be able to stay anonymous?
If we stop playing on our original accounts people would start suspecting us. How about we are not allowed to with our original accounts instead? Right? ParvatiSTyler93
EmmaLeigh and her original Race to Black account were never banned tbh I think that rule of banning a second account is dumb, unless they are joining many games at once like if I was active on my old account JayElVee joining one rookies with him then one on this account. But if you’re fairly inactive like me we should be given a pass.
BrandonPinzu - so if we join a game between now and the start of the race, no matter what point of the game we're at, we can finish that game and still do the race? EG joining a crooks on your main account an hour before the race starts is okay?
