SURVIVOR: DYNAMIC DUOS 2 Episode 6

Dec 23, 2021 by SurvivorGames
imagePREVIOUSLY ON SURVIVOR: Kenny was on the outs, and knew he had to make a huge move. “I’m sitting here seeing who’s still left on this tribe, and it kinda amazes me that we have two winners here AND a pair of people who played on a season together,” Kenny said. Kenny decided that he’d give it his all in the immunity challenge, but if they lost, he had a plan to try and take down the majority. Tony, meanwhile, celebrated with Denise. “I owe you one,” Tony told her. Denise was happy with her standing within the tribe. “As long as Tony’s here, I’m less of a target,” Denise said, “And I’m grateful for that.”

At the Jelly tribe, Bret was examined for his toe injury and was ultimately cleared to continue playing the game. “I’m very grateful because I didn’t see many people like me on tv when I was younger achieving things like this,” Bret said, “So I hope I can be an inspiration to the chubbier gay kids out there who just want to prove what they’ve got. This was my Survivor moment and I want to make it count.” Bret was embraced by his tribe. Wendell took a moment to reflect on his own game, seeing how there were things bigger than the game, while Christine took the time to share how proud she was to know Bret and be aligned with Bret. “He’s a great guy, and I know that I chose the right ally,” she said.

At the challenge, Wendell saw that Dom was gone. Wendell broke down emotionally saying “I didn’t expect it to hit me this hard because everything has always been about competition.” He cried some more saying “but with Bret having the medical scare and now seeing Dom gone, I definitely see the bigger picture and will now live every day to its fullest.” The challenge required the players to dive for rings under the water to then use them to throw around a series of poles. Throwing for PB were Stacey and Hali, while for Jelly, there were Wendell and Ricard. Immediately, Jelly got off to a huge lead, while PB failed to keep up. Ricard was missing a few of his ring tosses, and PB finally got to throwing, except Hali and Stacey were both struggling. Wendell was able to get the win for Jelly, sending them to safety for the second time in a row.

Back at camp, Kenny knew he was completely on the outs, but decided to approach Shantel, Stacey, and Hali about blindsiding one of the four big threats. “Obviously I’m an outsider, but I want to pitch myself as a vote,” he said, “And I do think having two winners and two people so closely connected is a threat.” Shan knew that they were threats, but also knew that keeping around strength was important. “If there’s a way to get out a huge threat while also keeping the tribe strong,” Shantel said, “That would be the optimal move.” The alliance of 6 met up to discuss their plan, with Hali recommending Tony. “He’s the obvious pick right?” she said, but Denise said “Why not Kenny since I think he’s more unpredictable,” in an attempt to sway the attention off of Tony. This confused Shantel. “Why is Denise saying ANYONE is more unpredictable than Tony?” she asked, amused. Shantel put it together that Denise must be working with Tony and must’ve been the person who told him about the split vote and blindsided Dom. At the same time, Denise was filling Tony in on the plan saying “I think it’ll be Kenny going if I’m convincing, you just have to vote Kenny,” to which Tony agreed.

Shantel then approached Hali and Stacey. “I think Denise has to go tonight,” she told them. Hali was confused, but Shantel said that “Denise must have told Tony to vote Dom and that’s why he’s still here. She’s trying to get us to vote for Kenny when it makes total sense to vote Tony. I say we cut off Denise because then we’re splitting up that alliance, and we still keep around Tony for strength.” Stacey appreciated the move because she knew they couldn’t keep losing and Tony would help them in challenges. “We do need Lauren and David in on the plan,” Shantel said. Hali talked to Lauren and David about the plan, and David was all in, though Lauren was hesitant. “I just hope we’re not blindly following an even bigger threat in Shan,” Lauren said. “My only concern is that we’re keeping Tony, but if we can still get out another winner,” David said, “I think it’s a big move.” Shan also approached Kenny and told him her plan to try and go for Denise. Kenny said that he saw this as a sliver of hope.

At tribal council, Tony said he knew every day was numbered, and he just hoped that the team saw him as a big enough asset in challenges. “That’s what’s tough,” Stacey said “Because it’s obvious he needs to go soon, but we also need him if we want a chance at Survival in these immunity challenges.” Kenny then said “I’m worried because it’s clear other than Tony, I’m the person most on the outs and they could very well decide it’s me tonight.” Shantel said that this was a turning point in the game where it’s no longer about challenge strength or trust or social bonds, but a mix of all three. “You need to get out someone who is a threat, but also won’t weaken the tribe by getting them out, and that’s a tough tightrope to walk,” she said. After the vote, nobody played an idol. The first two votes for Kenny came from Denise and Tony. Kenny voted for Denise. It came down to Lauren, David, Shan, Hali, and Stacey, who all voted for Denise, ending her Survivor journey. “You got me,” Denise said, having no bitter feelings, though Tony knew he now was in deep trouble if he couldn’t make something happen. But at the end of the episode, it was revealed that the two tribes of PB and J would dissolve into three tribes: Peanut Butter, Jelly, and Jam.
