Episode Ten - Season Finale: "Destiny"

A light flashes against Natalya, wakening her from her sleep as she moans. A small door opens as Crimson begins to make her way down the stairway into the basement. Light peeks into the room from the open door due to a lack of windows. Crimson holds out her hand, illuminating candles around Natalya letting her see. Natalya lays on the ground, shackled to the floor by her legs and hands. “I wonder how long we’ll have to keep you down here…” says Crimson, now in front of Natalya. “It’s already been two days, and you’ve kept your mouth shut” adds Crimson, pacing herself around the room in a circle. Natalya says nothing. Crimson stops and grabs Natalya’s head, staring into her eyes she asks, “Where is Edward?” Natalya looks deep into Crimson’s eyes before spitting on her. Crimson takes a step back, punching Natalya across the face. Natalya’s head bops up and down before looking up at Crimson. “You’ve caused enough trouble” says Crimson, now grabbing a candle from the floor. Holding the flame to Natalya’s face, she demands “Tell us where he is!” Natalya remains silent. Blood drips out her mouth from Crimson’s punch as she cackles. Crimson begins to walk back up the stairs, leaving a cackling Natalya alone in the shadows. As she closes the door, she turns to see Mac and Sabrina facing her. “Is this necessary?” asks Sabrina, uneasy about torturing another being. Mac puts his hand on her shoulder for support. Crimson sighs, “She invaded this house and almost killed John. It is necessary…” Sabrina looks at Mac, showing her sadness. Crimson starts to walk away only to be interrupted by Sabrina again, “So what happens now?” Crimson turns again to look at Sabrina. “You can choose to stay and learn to control your powers, or you can leave and go back to your normal lives.” Crimson walks away leaving Mac and Sabrina to themselves.

Tisha and Quinton stand at the front of the house, a new door put in place. Tisha opens the door as the two make their way outside to the porch. “What happens now?” asks Quinton, staring out into the countryside. “We learn how to use our abilities, and then we find Edward” she explains. Quinton now walks up to Tisha who stands on the other side of the porch, “I don’t get why it has to be us…” Tisha looks at him, “Because if we don’t, then no one will.” Tisha walks by Quinton, pondering the status of her life. It was only a few weeks since school had ended for the summer, just a week since Bailey’s attack and two days after the battle at Crimson’s house. “I care about you Tisha” adds Quinton, making his way back to her. They stare into eachothers eyes, a cool breeze passing by as the sun sets in the background. Quinton cups his thumbs around her chin, Tisha looking up into his eyes as they both smile. “I just want to understand what I am and where I came from” admits Tisha, now looking down and drawing back from Quinton. “I need to understand myself before I can make others happy.” Quinton bites his lip at her rejection, smiling to hide his disappointment. “That makes sense” responds Quinton, trying to please Tisha. Tisha looks at New Haven in the distance. The town and her friends weren’t the same anymore. Everything had changed. “Let’s go back in” says Tisha, making her way back into the house as Quinton follows.

“Part of me can’t grasp what happened two days ago” reveals John, laying in a bed recovering. “I was almost dead…” he adds, looking at his body as no scars or wounds remain. Sabrina and Samuel sit in chairs facing John, his grin pleasing them both at the sight of his joy. “Thank you for whatever you did Sabrina” utters Samuel who holds John’s hand for comfort. Sabrina looks away for a moment, “I don’t exactly know what I did.” John looks at her, “Well i’m just glad you did it.” Sabrina stands to exit, but is stopped as Crimson enters the room. “I may be the only one to remember, but you manipulated the air when John was injured” says Crimson, pointing at Samuel. Sabrina and John turn towards him, “That’s right!” they say unanimously. “I don’t know what came over me..” expresses Samuel. Crimson steps beside him, “In most cases, people learn of their abilities when one emotion of their body is put to the extreme. In this case, the sight of John dying awakened you powers. The same with you Sabrina. Now, I need a word with John alone” Samuel kisses John’s hand before standing to leave, closely followed by Sabrina as she shuts the door. Crimson sits in one of the chairs before speaking, “You still have not encountered your powers?” John looks down, “It’s complicated, but I did when I was a child but it disappeared one day.” Crimson smiles, “That’s why you found this house.” John tilts his head at her, looking in confusion before she continues, “This house had a magical spell put on it, only letting Descendants able to see and enter the house. The only other way to enter is if a human was offered entrance by those already in the house.” John looks back up at her, “So everyone here is a Descendant?” Crimson nods her head as she stands up, “Yes, with the exception of Bailey who was allowed in by Mada.” Crimson pauses for a moment, enjoying the silence before ending her speech, “You should rest now.” John faintly nods before closing his eyes, Crimson then leaves the room.

Jenni wakes from her sleep, Tisha and the others crowding around her for support. Jenni leans her head back, shutting her eyes. “I’m better off dead” she pouts, raising her hands and placing them on her head signifying stress. “You’re important to us Jenni! You got used by Edward and Natalya.” explains Sabrina, smiling to boost her confidence. “I was so stupid, but they told me all of these lies and that you were evil” cries Jenni, covering her face. Tisha steps closer to Jenni, “We’ve all made mistakes, and it would be foolish for us to not give you a chance.” A small spark flies from Jenni’s palm as her hands shake, “I can’t control it!” she says louder. Tisha takes her hand, feeling a small static zap her palm. “You can’t give up now. Everyone in this room has wanted to give up at some point, but we all have a destiny to play and you are just as important.” Jenni pauses, smiling at Tisha’s words. The others gather around her bed, waiting for Jenni to tell her story.

New Haven sleeps once more as darkness fills the sky. A lonely house opens as a cloaked man walks outside. Revealing himself, Edward stands outside his lawn as a small black car drives up to his house and turns off. The driver door opens as a woman pops out. The woman takes off her black sunglasses. Evelyn makes her way up the lawn, meeting Edward halfway in the middle. “You are late” he says, looking at her in disappointment. “I get here when I want to” responds Evelyn, smiling into Edward’s eyes. “We have lost Natalya then?” asks Evelyn. Edward nods to confirm, “For now, but not always.” Evelyn sighs, walking a few steps away from him. “It’s a pity, but her time was coming to an end anyways. The others have given me the instructions for your next move.” Evelyn puts her hand into her purse, pulling out a small piece of paper. She hands it to Edward as her reads the confidential orders. Edward then rips the paper, throwing it away into the breeze. “I won’t be seeing you for a while then?” asks Evelyn. Edward does not respond, walking back towards his house. Evelyn smiles once more at him, then turning to walk away down the sidewalk. Edward opens the door to his house, a small boy now standing there. “Where are we going?” the small boy asks. Edward bends down to his knees, “Don’t worry Danny, Daddy has a new job.” They both make their way to the car, Edward closing the door to the house one final time. Edward now enters the car before turning it on and looking at a map. Danny sits in the back before Edward announces, “It’s time to say goodbye to New Haven.” The car then starts to move as it fades away into the shadows, never to be seen again.

Midnight strikes the clock as Chandler and Tisha are the only one still awake in the house. They sit in the living room, new furniture being placed as a ticking clock is the only sound heard from their silence. “You were supposed to die” repeats Chandler. “I’m not sure why it didn’t happen” answers Tisha, watching the clock move back and forth. “Someone must have intervened and changed the future” says Chandler. “It doesn’t make sense to me, I had two visions of you dying from the demon and yet it targeted other people.” Tisha’s mind drifts with theories to Chandler’s comments, “Maybe I was just lucky.” Chandler makes eye contact with Tisha, “I slept with Edward before I knew what he was. He could have easily killed me, but he didn’t.” Tisha takes in this new information from Chandler wondering about Edward. Why had he done this? “Edward isn’t the man I once knew. Something happened to him” replies Tisha, picking at her hands. “Do you think we’ll be alright?” asks Chandler, now playing with her hair. Tisha stands, looking at the place where Mada died, “I don’t know, I can’t predict the future.”

Chandler and Tisha now make their way towards spare beds provided by Crimson. The house drawing quiet to the end of a successful day. The house is peaceful as everyone can sleep calm for one night, knowing the demon is gone. The ticking of the clock in the living room reaches 12:59 before a final stroke of the hand gongs. The signal of 1:00 AM sweeps the house for a brief moment as things return to normal. Mac, Sabrina, Chandler, Crimson, Samuel, John, Quinton and Tisha all sleep. One door is left open leading into a bedroom. The person on the bed lays there. A window beside the bed reveals the full moon of the evening as the moonlight shines its way onto the skin of the sleeping person. Tisha wakes, dehydrated and thirsty. She opens her door, letting herself into the hallway. Down the stairs she travels, making her way to the fridge. The ticking of the clock but irrelevant sound in her mind. Sipping on water, she closes the fridge. She turns her head as she hears a small sound coming from somewhere in the house. She peers into the living room, only to find nothing. She makes her way back upstairs, passing the opened door room. Tisha returns to her bed and drifts off back to sleep. Into the opened door room, no sound is made as a gentle breeze comes from the open window. In that moment, Bailey opens her eyes.

Episode Nine: "The Battle"

As the bolt of fire inches closer to Chandler, Crimson casts a firebolt to intercept it. Quinton is able to cast a weak bolt of water from his palm, directing it towards Natalya who dodges it. Natalya runs up to Quinton and punches him as another bolt of fire hits Natalya in the back. Natalya falls to the floor for the moment, the bolt of fire tingling her skin, making a hole in the clothes which she wears. Natalya stands, clenching her fists from the pain caused by Crimson’s firebolt. Natalya and Crimson begin to channel a wave of fire and cast it towards the other one. The flames meet in the middle as neither side seems to be stronger than the other. Quinton launches a faint water bolt from his hands, missing Natalya completely. Edward walks over to Quinton, kicking him while he lays on the floor knocking him out.

Jenni watches them fight, shocked by what she is seeing. Both channels of fire disappear as neither can gain the advantage. Crimson tackles and pins Natalya to the floor. Natalya yelps into the air, “Help us Jenni!” Natalya pleads at her, one of the few times where her expression to Jenni was not one of hate but for her own survival. Jenni does not move. Tisha runs down the stairs, wanting to aid Crimson as she struggles to keep Natalya pinned to the floor. John and Samuel make their way into the kitchen to hide. Edward casts a spell on himself, clocking his body and becoming invisible. “I don’t know..who to trust…” mumbles Jenni. “Remember, they killed Bailey” echoes the voice of Edward, his body not able to be seen. Jenni starts frantically looking around herself, unable to trust anyones word. “Jenni! Please!” screams Tisha, now in the living room and rushing to Crimson. The voices of Tisha, Edward and Natalya topple over each other in Jenni’s mind, canceling out her ability to think clearly. Jenni’s head violently shakes as her eyes roll to the back of her head, caused by an unknown pain. Every light in the house now flickering on and off as Sabrina tucks her head into Mac’s body, wrapping his arms around her for protection. Chandler cowers in the corner, praying that she does not die in this manner. Jenni’s body begins to convulse, foam dripping from her mouth, others too focused on aiding Crimson or Natalya. Static runs through her hair making it rise, bolts of electricity entering and exiting her body causing her eyes to glow a bright yellow. Jenni silences the room, her shriek filling the house as all heads turn towards her before a shockwave of electricity is unleashed from her body. Paralyzing everyone in the house, and causing them to lose consciousness.

Minutes pass as everyone lays passed out on the floor. Tisha and Edward are the first to wake slowly. The house is now dark with fibers of yellow bolts which every so often zap from the walls. The house appears to now be a battery which is negatively charged by Jenni’s shockwave. The furniture of the house cast again the wall, now tainted with black from the electricity. A sole chair rests in the middle of the living room. Jenni sits on it, her eyes continuing to glow yellow as electricity and static continue to sporadically fly from her body. Others awaken, making way for Natalya to speak, “Help us!” she demands to Jenni, who sits on the chair. Natalya is immobilized by a spell from Jenni, causing her to pause in place and drop to the floor. Jenni’s head lightly turns to Tisha, “Help me..” she begs ever so faintly, almost unable to be heard.

Jenni almost speaks, but is cut off from the demon who smashes his way through window. The demon collides with Jenni, knocking her out and causing the yellow glow from her eyes to fade away. Edward walks beside the demon and pets it, revealing its loyalties. Tisha, Crimson, Mac, Sabrina and Chandler all rise to face Edward and the demon. Chandler soon realizes that the scene of her visions resembles this very moment. Quinton still passed out on the floor, does not move. “Edward…” mutters Tisha, trying to contain herself from exploding. “It’s all for a greater cause” explains Edward pointing at the group, signaling for the demon to attack. Samuel and John recover from the shock wave in the kitchen, creeping into the living room to watch the battle. “Stay back!” orders Crimson, at Mac who has yet to discover his powers. The demon charges at Crimson who steps to the side, letting the beast slam into a wall. The beast stands back on its feet, now more fueled with anger. The demon spots Samuel and John who watch passively in the corner and makes his way to them. Samuel and John now notice the demon has seen them and run back into the kitchen. Crimson casts a bolt of fire at the beast, attempting to lure it away from them with no success. As Samuel and John now stand in the kitchen, the demon charges at Samuel who is able to dodge, letting the beast collide with John. Crimson and Tisha make their way into the kitchen to help followed by Edward who goes invisible once more. The demon begins to claw and rip at John’s body as blood splatters everywhere. Samuel watches in horror as his friend is ripped apart. The demon then leaves John’s body alone, barely alive. Edward now reveals himself beside the demon as Samuel runs up to John for support. Samuel cannot speak at the sight of John’s clawed body from the beast, blood gushing out. Mac, Sabrina and Chandler hide in the living room, cowering from the shrieks that come from John’s voice. Natalya and Quinton, still motionless on the floor. Tisha runs to Samuel’s side as he comforts John, gasping for air. Crimson watches John as his life leaves his body. Crimson, now ignited by rage, illuminates her hands on fire as her eyes begin to glow red. The anger fuels her abilities to become more powerful. She unleashes a single firebolt at the demon, piercing its heart as it exits the other side of its body. The demon howling into the air, his body tumbling onto the floor as black blood leaks out from his punctured body. Edward now runs back to the living room and grabs Chandler by her neck. As everyone with the exception of Tisha, John and Samuel confront Edward, his hand glows a dark black as he says, “You let me leave, or I will poison her mind with nightmares and she will never be normal again…” No one moves, not wanting to endanger Chandler as she cries. “Don’t hurt me!” she mumbles, Edward’s grip around her neck hurting her.

In the kitchen, Samuel holds John’s hand, his pulse weakening from the demon’s attack. The room is riddled with holes from the Natalya’s barrage of firebolts. Tisha watches the two interact, knowing their time together is coming to an end. The demon’s corpse begins to dissipate, similar to Mada. Black particles fly into the air, the body disappearing leaving only the black blood from the fatal wound. Samuel’s body shakes knowing what is to come, a single tear dropping from his eye. In that moment, Samuel’s world freezes as a faint wind begins to blow in the house. Tisha’s hair caught by the forming wind, flows to one side of her body. “What’s happening?” asks Tisha, noticing the wind picking up inside the house. The wind grows stronger as a whirlwind begins to form around Samuel. His eyes glow cyan from his sadness. Samuel screams as the whirlwind is unleashed from his control and flies through the house, colliding with Edward who releases Chandler from his grasp in the living room. Mac and Crimson rush to Chandler, helping her up. Sabrina looks around the room, seeing Edward has vanished from invisibility to make his escape from the house.

Rains starts to fall from the outside of the house, the sun now just peeking out signaling morning. Crimson’s house still stands, holes now everywhere in sight and her front door all but completely destroyed. Silence grows in the house as everyone gathers around John and Samuel who wait for John’s departure from the world. Quinton now awake, makes his way to the kitchen. Passively watching, he glances around the house. Crimson holds Natalya cuffed with Mac and Chandler who assist her. “Thank you for all your work” says Crimson, bowing at John for his help. Mac tries to say something but is unable to conjure up words. He holds Sabrina’s hands, who is deeply saddened by a second person now sentenced to an even worse death than Bailey. “You weren’t supposed to die. My visions told me it was Tisha…” explains Chandler, grasping Natalya’s shoulder. “The future is unpredictable and can always be changed” says Crimson, watching Natalya from behind for no potential escape. “This can’t happen!” moans Sabrina, now rushing up to Samuel and kneeling to touch John as his eyes barely remain open. “First Bailey, and now this! Why?” cries Sabrina, distraught at the event that have taken place. John smiles, “I didn’t know how I felt Sam, but now I fell right with you.” murmurs John. Samuel squeezes his hand, kissing the side of his cheek, “I felt the same” he adds. Samuel tucks his head into John’s body, making his tears. A sparkle now flies out of John’s body. Another appears as more continue to burst from his body. “Look..” says Chandler, pointing at John. Samuel leans back as John’s body gleams a white colour. A flash of sunlight blinds everyone in the room. Unable to see, they all cover their eyes as John’s body flashes a bright light as rays of holy light emanate from his wounds. Suddenly, a light breaks their sight. They all now watch as John’s wounds fade, the light washing them away like dirt. The light now vanishes, leaving John’s body on the ground. John miraculously stands, looking at his hands in amazement. “John!” rejoices Samuel who now hugs him. “They’re gone…” whispers Chandler, his fatal wounds now a memory of the past. Mac turns to look at Sabrina, her eyes glow a holy white colour. Sabrina’s body glows, her eyes returning to normal as she gasps for air. Mac holds her up before she speaks, “What just happened…?” she asks, now seeing John before her alive. “Of course” starts Crimson, “You are a Holy Descendant, you can heal people.” Mac and Sabrina now turn to each other, Sabrina’s face now a ray of excitement from the discovery of her powers.

Jenni now wakes in the other room, alone she sees into the kitchen as everyone hugs. Her memory slowly returning to her as she remembers what she has done. A singular spark flies from her body, “I can’t control it..” she mumbles, closing her eyes as darkness fills her mind.

Episode Eight: "Awakening"

== Flashback ==

The male and female from the previous flashback are seen driving in a car down the highway. It is night and guiding them to their destination is the light from the moon as the world around them grows ever more dark. The road is barren as they travel the way alone, no cars in sight travelling either direction. The woman turns to look at the little girl and boy who sleep in the backseats, dreaming as their childhood imagination wonders in their minds. The car hits a bump as the woman returns to her normal position as the male drives the car. “We must hide them both” she whispers to the man, revealing fake passports and identifications. The car makes it’s way past a sign reading, “New Haven, population 781” The man looks at his rear view mirror, glancing at the girl in the back beside the boy. “We are no longer the people in our past” explains the woman. “They will try to find us and them..” referencing the children in the back. The woman sighs before a small voice mumbles from the back, “Mommy?” The little girl has awaken and stares at her mom in curiosity. “Oh Sabrina, I love you…” she replies before the man slams on the breaks of the car as an oncoming car collides with them. The woman and man both appear to be dead as their heads rest on the forward cabinet of the car. The boy in the back is not seen as the little girl sits in her seat, unbruised and tugging on a teddy bear.

== Present Time ==

The morning sun rises into the sky as the events from the Crimson’s backyard fade into the memory of yesterday. Crimson’s house stands tall as the sun begins to hit the old exterior walls of her house. Within, Crimson is seen sitting on a couch crying. Tisha appears from another room as she pauses before entering, unsure if her mentor would enjoy her company. Tisha slowly paces herself into the room with Crimson taking notice of her presence. Crimson ceases her crying and stands up as she looks at Tisha. “I’m alright now” she says. “It’s just hard showing strength around the others and you all the time when i’ve lost so much of my own.” Crimson glances at the place where Mada sacrificed herself before saying, “I just feel alone sometimes. I dedicate myself to this and it comes with other sacrifices that i must make.” Tisha’s eyes twinkle at the pity she feels fro Crimson. Tisha walks towards Crimson, holding her hands while replying, “Everyone feels alone at some point. It’s not always bad.” Tisha smiles trying to show Crimson hope. Crimson laughs, “It looks like the tables have turned and now you are teaching me” Tisha grins, moving away from Crimson and making her way to the window as she sees the sun rising, “I’m not afraid with knowing that I know nothing” responds Tisha, her eyes drifting at the scenery from the countryside. “I’m sorry that I yelled at your friends yesterday” replies Crimson, following Tisha to the window. “You were doing what you thought was right” answers Tisha, turning to face Crimson as the two stare in each other's eyes. Tisha smiles, “This is really unprofessional, but I think we could be great friends” announces Tisha, holding out her hand and attempting to create water from her palm. Crimson follows her gesture, instantly igniting her own palm as a flame flickers. Tisha is unable to create the water but says, “You’re a Fire Descendant then?” Crimson’s face beams with content as she answers, “It took you long enough to figure that one out” Tisha begins to walk out of the room leaving Crimon to herself, “I already knew, but I couldn’t convince myself to say it.” Tisha exits, leaving Crimson alone before she mutters, “She has promise”

Sabrina, Chandler, Mac and Quinton surround Bailey’s unresponsive body as her signs of life diminish. “So it wasn’t an animal…?” mumbles Sabrina, as she holds Mac’s hand for comfort. Chandler inspects Bailey’s body, the body of the unconscious girl turning even more pale as the days go by. “That vision I had yesterday, it was of an animal attacking Tisha and killing her.” The other three look at her before Quinto speaks, “It wasn’t an animal that you saw, it was a demon.” Chandler turns to face Quinton and the others, biting her lip as she know what she must ask next, “Did this demon attack Bailey too?” Sabrina looks at Mac and Quinton who both nod in agreeance. Sabrina draws back her hand from Mac, trying to hide her shocked expression, “Who would do this?” she asks. Mac and Quinton both look at eachother, “We don’t know” they say simultaneously. “She was walking home from the Summer Festival when she was attacked in the dark” Chandler looks up at Quinton, “Have there been any other attacks?” she asks, tossing her hair to one side of her head.  “It attacked here once and it got someone who was teaching us…” explains Quinton. Sabrina takes a step closer to Bailey’s body, “All attacks have happened at night?” Quinton and Mac both nod again. “Maybe it can’t come out in the sunlight like a vampire or something?” announces Sabrina, touching Bailey’s cold skin and running her hands over the scratches and cuts. “It’s strange how the demon hasn’t attacked recently” adds Mac who goes to the window facing New Haven. Chandler, Sabrina and Quinton all look at each other to Mac’s statement.

Sitting alone in Tisha’s house, Evelyn crosses her legs while she scavenges through her purse. She pulls out a small disposable phone before dialing a mysterious number. Placing the phone against her ear, she begins to speak, “Long time no see” she says, now walking around the room. “She doesn’t know anything and she won’t find out.” she says, replying to the other person. “Tisha doesn’t know a thing about my past. She’s high in the clouds right now thinking everything is alright and she can keep thinking that for all I care.” Evelyn hangs up on the mysterious caller as she makes her way to her bedroom and locks the door. Unzipping her suitcase, she stares at an unknown item in her bag as she laughs, “We’re back in business.”

As the day passes by, Crimson gathers Tisha, Mac, Quinton, Chandler and Sabrina in her living room. Crimson stands as she announces, “Each of you have something special in yourselves just like myself. If our differences unite, we create harmony and can bring justice and help those in need. I know some of you are apprehensive to embrace your gifts.” She looks at Quinton before continuing, “This will not be easy. Your training will be gruesome and the hardest thing you have ever endured. You saw what people can do to your friends like Bailey, and if you want to survive, then you must delve into the unknown of your bodies and learn to control them. You-” Crimson is silenced by the knocking of her front door. Tisha stands to answer the door as the sun begins to sink back down, signaling the end of the day. As she open the door, John and Samuel stand in front of her. “We have something to show you…” says Samuel. He flashes a book at Tisha showing the demon that had attacked them. Tisha is unable to speak but ushers them into the house as she closes the door to the house, seeing the last remnants of the sun. Samuel places the book on a table as the others gather around forming a circle around it. “Who are they?” asks Crimson, who is the only one not to form around the circle. “Friends” responds Tisha, as she takes a closer look at the book. The others in the room are quick to notice the demon as Samuel speaks, “This was the creature that attacked Bailey and it isn’t exactly an animal but more of an ancient conjured beast tied to Norse mythology and religion.” Crimson now steps forward to inspect the book, “You’ve been researching I see.” She stares at the Demon as John speaks, “There were ancient Gods who gave people elemental powers to protect the world, but some may have used it for their own gain.” Crimson smiles, walking away from the before turning to the group, “You have less or so, a good idea of our past.” Crimson quickly holds out her hand, igniting it as a flame appears to show John and Samuel. They both grab each others hands, shocked by what they see. “We’re like her” adds Tisha, going to stand beside Crimson. The others join her Crimson and Tisha, facing John and Samuel.

“This is a lot to take in…” mumbles John, Samuel and himself now in Crimson’s kitchen as the other stay in the living room waiting for their return. “I told you I wasn’t crazy!” whispers Samuel. John is shocked as Samuel grabs John and kisses him. It lasts for 5 seconds before Samuel leans back to let John speak. “Wh-Where did that come from?” questions John, almost unable to speak. “It just felt right to me” explains Samuel. John tilts his head at Samuel, “I’m not sure how I felt about it…” Samuel’s face slowly falls from a smile, back to a frown by John’s rejection. John continues, “I just-”

His sentence is not able to be finished as a bolt of fire pierces through the front door of Crimson’s house. Samuel and John run back into the living room as Crimson ducks for cover as oncoming firebolts slash through the walls of her house, leaving holes everywhere. Mac and Sabrina duck behind a couch as Chandler follows them closely. A bolt of fire skims beside Quinton’s arm, leaving a small open wound as small amounts of blood trickle out. Tisha runs upstairs to hide in a bedroom as the door swings open. Edward makes his way into the house with Natalya and Jenni who walk in accordingly after him. Tisha pokes her head from upstairs, only to see Edward. She pauses for a moment, realising that he is attacking their sanctuary. Tisha tries to conjure from her hands, shaking them and repeating a line of magic. Nothing happens, leaving Tisha feeling useless. “Now the fun begins” announces Natalya, readying her powers for a battle. “Prepare for battle” adds Edward. Jenni halts, seeing Sabrina and Chandler hiding behind a couch. “What were they doing here?” she thought to herself. Jenni now looks around the room noticing all of her friends in the room along with Crimson. Natalya pushes Jenni aside, casting a flame towards Chandler making her scream. The sun now all but gone, lets the darkness seep into the house as the roar of the demon is heard in the distance.

Episode Seven: "Offspring"

Hours later, John and Samuel sit on a couch in John’s livingroom, both taking a refreshing sip of water as they break from their investigation into Bailey’s attacker. John watches Samuel as he continues to read through the ancient Norse book for answers. Their research has reached a slow point as nothing new has yet to be discovered with the exception of the symbol of darkness on the demon's body. “Nothing new” declares Samuel, as he closes the book. John sighs as he knows what he must say, “We should go show this to Tisha and the others, they were close to Bailey and might know more.” Samuel looks at John, “I thought you didn’t like Bailey?” John stands and heads towards the window, “I didn’t, but it’s the right thing to do.”

Elsewhere, Natalya slashes the chains off Jenni’s wrists as she drops to the floor. Her hands curve around the bruises on her arms as she realizes her freedom. She rises the her feet as she approaches Edward, “What’s next?” Edward exits the basement followed by Natalya and Jenni as they make their way to Edwards kitchen. There, he pulls out an image from a drawer. “On the outskirts of New Haven lies a sanctuary for those who desire to help those who are corrupt. We must make the first move and strike them in their home.” explains Edward. “Their leader holds them together. My servant has already gotten rid of one, we must kill the rest.” Jenni examines his image of coordinates to the house before replying, “Why must they be killed again? Like I get that they are evil and corrupt humans but people can change?” Natalya and Edward look at each other before Natalya replies, “You have a friend named Bailey? Well they sent a demon to attack her, and now she is dead.” Natalya looks at Edward as he notices her lie but says nothing. Jenni leaves the kitchen as she runs into a spare bedroom, throwing a table across the room as a bolt of lightning flashes from her palms hitting the wall and making a hole through it. Jenni looks at her hands as they flicker with electricity. Edward enters the room with Natalya who listens from a distance. “You can avenge your friend. Make them pay…” he says, as Jenni turns towards him. “I will kill them all” mutters Jenni as she returns to the kitchen to inspect the map alone. Natalya moves closer to Edward before whispering, “If she continues down this path, she could die. Are you willing to sacrifice her?” Edward places his hand on the hole which Jenni’s bolt of lighting destroyed, “She’s just one girl”

Sabrina and Chandler look in awe as they see Tisha and Quinton levitate the water successfully in the backyard of Crimson’s house. “What is all this..?” asks Sabrina, who is in amazement at what she is seeing. Chandler tilts her head as mixed emotions swirl around in her head. “How is this possible?” she ponders to herself. Crimson suddenly comes running into the back at the sight of Sabrina and Chandler, “Who let them in?” she demands. No one answers as the others look around in confusion, “Who let them in?” she demands louder. Mac raises his hand, “They just followed me in because Chandler had-” Crimson turns to Mac as she yells, “You cannot just let any humans you want in here! Many are not to be trusted…” Mac begins to yell back at her, “Chandler forced me to bring her Tisha! She won’t stop freaking out!” Tisha looks at Mac and Chandler, she is confused at all the fighting. Mac and Crimson repeat their yelling at eachother with both stepping towards the other, ready to fight as Quinton and Sabrina rush to Mac’s side. Chandler watches from afar as those around her begin to slow their actions and a ticking noise appears in her head. Her eyes close as another vision of the future enters her mind. The demon appears once more as it begins to attack Tisha again. This time, ripping its claws into her body as Tisha wails in pain and agony. The vision ends with Tisha’s head resting on the ground as her eyes close, symbolising her death. Chandler snaps back to reality as her scream silences the others before she passes out and collapses onto the floor.

Tisha gasps, rushing to Chandler’s side with Mac, Quinton and Sabrina close behind. Chandler doesn’t open her eyes for several minutes as the others wait for her to wake around her. Crimson approaches Chandler’s body and places a hand on her head, “I should have known…” sighs Crimson as she stands. “What’s wrong?” asks Sabrina, who watches from behind Mac. “Chandler isn’t human, she’s a Poison Descendant. Tisha, you and Quinton are Water Descendants.” Sabrina and the other peer around at each other, startled by Crimson’s news.

John and Samuel pass through the middle of New Haven, the clock striking just past 7:00 PM as the sun begins to set. Samuel leads as John follows reading the book. “I’ve read that thing about a million times and there’s nothing new to discover” pouts Samuel. “You idiot” says John. “Some of these pages have hidden pages in between the Norse symbols…” Samuel turns to John as he shows how the Norse symbols contain small faint letters in between each marking of the symbols. “Oh my god…” says John. “The legend tells of these ancient gods called Guardians… they, they created this order giving elements to humans like offspring to defend against others who would harm them.” Samuel grabs the book, “Where are you reading this?” John points to the symbols. After reading them, Samuel says, “We need to tell Bailey’s friends..” as he shows a picture of the demon with the symbols on it, words saying “A New Order” appears on the demon’s body as painted blood runs down the page, hinting at its symbol for death.

Episode Six: "The Trial"

The chains around her arms cling as she tries to move. Dirt covers Jenni’s body as she struggles to maintain balance against the wall. Bruises appear on her body and her face is pale from lack of nutrition. Her head bobs back and forth as she attempts to fall asleep, each moment being destroyed as Natalya slaps her across the face to remain awake. “You’re pathetic” remarks Natalya as she laughs. Jenni begins to cry at the sight of Natalya’s cruel nature. Natalya goes to hit Jenni again but stops herself at the sight of Edward entering the room. “Sir” Natalya says, as she bows. Edward walks by Natalya and places his hand on Jenni’s head. He moves her head, inspecting her before staring into her eyes and smiles. “You have a power, something given to you to help us” explains Edward. “If people knew what you were, they would kill you. Your powers are a gift, a gift to rid this world of corrupt humans and their hate. Help us, and we will help you.” Jenni stands there, ignoring Edward's comments at her disgust for him. She spits at him, “Go to hell!” she scream before the lights in the room begin to flicker and blackout, leaving the room in darkness. “We can help you…” echoes Edward’s voice. “Just lets us help…” adds Natalya. A small beam of fire appears from Natalya’s hands as she lights the dark room to see. Jenni starts to cry once more at the sight of Natalya’s abilities. “I thought I was alone” sobs Jenni as tears hit the floor. The lights return as Natalya extinguishes her flame. “There are people in this town who are blind to our powers Jenni. They have been told lies by people they thought they could trust. We must tell them the truth.” explains Edward.

Crimson leads Quinton and Tisha outside to the backyard of her house. Standing there, is a glass of water on a small table around a cobblestone path. Quinton and Tisha take their place vertically opposite between each other, separated by the small table. “The first step in embracing your power is not to contain them, but to control them. Together, you are going to levitate the water from that glass.” Quinton and Tisha look at each other, “But we can’t” moans Quinton. “Denying is the first step to failing” adds Crimson. Quinton and Tisha both stare at the glass of water before Tisha holds out her hands. Quinton closely follows her moves as they both concentrate on the glass. Their arms begin to vibrate but the water stays still. After minutes of trying, nothing changes. “This isn’t working!” pouts Quinton. “Focus” observes Crimson, who watches them. “Do it for Mada, do it for your friend Bailey” As Quinton and Tisha look at one another, they whisper “For Bailey” The yard is silent as Quinton and Tisha focus on the glass. Suddenly, the water begins to levitate out of the glass. A line of water gets higher and higher into the air as Quinton and Tisha look in amazement at their success. The water then drops back in as Quinton and Tisha run to each other for a hug. “We did it!” they say as Crimson watches, “The first trial is completed”

Mac watches from the window at the sight of Quinton and Tisha hugging. They return to their positions and try once more to levitate the water higher than before. Mac turns his head towards Bailey whose body has not shifted since her arrival to the bed. Her condition was getting worse and Crimson had estimated that she only had a few weeks left of live inside of her. Mac sighs at the thought of Bailey gone forever, she was already gone but her body was still present. “I don’t know how we’ll survive without your fun Bailey” he spoke to her body. Mac hears the rejoice from Quinton and Tisha’s voices as their second attempt in successful.

Mac makes his way out of Crimson’s house before entering into the middle of New Haven. A walk was what he needed to clear his mind. Being near Tisha and Quinton all the time was getting boring and he needed to get in touch with his other friends. Mac stumbles into a small park near the town hall. Children are playing on the swings as others travel around him with their various pets and friends. Sabrina sits down beside him as he watches the children play. “Hey” greets Sabrina, as she smiles. “Why did you want to meet all a sudden?” she asks. Mac exhales before he glances at her, “Do you know when something happens and you wish you could change it?” Sabrina nods her head. “I wish this hadn’t happened to Bailey” he adds before Sabrina rests her head on his shoulder and smirks, “Bailey would not like that you’re depressed about her. She would want you to move on and enjoy your life.” Mac laughs, “She would be yelling at me saying what the heck is wrong with me!” says Mac. They both giggle as they reminisce over times with Bailey. “She’s a firecracker” implies Sabrina. “But she’d always tell you the truth” adds Mac. Sabrina and Mac stand as they walk around the park listening to the humming of birds and the joy of children's laughter. “I’ve missed you these last few days” admits Mac. Sabrina grins as they make their way further along, “It was a bit boring without you” confides Sabrina. The two lock eyes for a moment but are swiftly cut off by the arrival of Chandler who bursts between them. “Mac!” she screams. “Where is Tisha?” she asks desperately. “What do you mean?” asks Mac. “Something isn’t right…” explains Chandler, who looks at Sabrina. “Are you alright?” gulps Sabrina. “Take me to her. Take me to Tisha!” she demands Mac.

“I found it!” exclaims Samuel who recovers a dusty book from a cabinet. “What are you looking for?” questions John who cannot cope with the idea of aiding Bailey. Samuel reveals a book to John who begins to read the title, “Ancient Norse Mythology?” Samuel runs over to his computer as he explains, “Many tradition today are based off religions from ancestral times. Maybe this is the one that will explain the animal that attacked Bailey.” Samuel opens the book and starts to flip through pages until he reaches an image. “The demon had Norse symbols on his body” explains Samuel. “They have to be connected” John looks around before saying, “Maybe Bailey had what was coming to her. She was rude, arrogant and selfish.” Samuel doesn’t listen to John’s comments “Look!” Samuel points to a picture of the beast and remarks a symbol on its body. “It’s an ancient Orlanthi symbol.” John tilts his head, “Orlanthi?” Samuel looks up at him, “Orlanthi is a group of symbolic runes. These are designated from vikings and Norse followers. That symbol is the definition of the word Darkness in modern English. The real question is, what animal is this? No known animal has these symbols on its body.” John looks close at the image seeing the symbol while Samuel zooms in on the Norse symbol.

As all the water levitates above the glass, Tisha and Quinton let go s the water falls back into the glass. “Very good” says Crimson who makes her way over to the duo. “The more you both practice, the better you will be at controlling your powers.” she explains before heading back inside the house. Quinton and Tisha remain outside as they both sit on a bench. “Why did you want to leave?” asks Tisha. Quinton doesn’t answer at first but finally says, “Maybe I didn’t believe, or I was scared, or maybe I just wasn’t ready.” Tisha looks at him, “What made you ready?” Quinton stands up as he looks up towards the clear blue sky. “It took the death of others to realize what I could be” he says. Tisha smiles at him before crossing her legs. The attack on Bailey, Evelyn’s arrival and Mada’s death had all affected her negatively. It was great to finally be proud for once. Mac comes bursting out of the door followed by Sabrina and Chandler. “What are they doing here?” demands Quinton pointing at Chandler and Sabrina. “She’s crazy” adds Sabrina. “She swears it’s true” says Mac. Chandler runs up to Tisha hugging her, “I thought you were dead..” she cries weeping into Tisha’s clothes. “What’s wrong Chandler?” asks Tisha. Chandler regains her composure before looking into Tisha’s eyes, “I saw you being attacked by a wild animal… it ripped out your throat and killed you.” Tisha, Mac and Quinton exchange glances as their minds all think of the demon.

Episode Five: "Sacrifice"

Evelyn walks through the kitchen as she places her purse on a chair opening Tisha’s fridge. Tisha follows close behind, shocked by the arrival of her distant cousin. Evelyn reveals a bottle of wine before finding a glass to drink. “What are you doing here?” demands Tisha, who slams the fridge shut. Evelyn takes a gulp of her wine before saying, “Evicted from my shitty apartment as usual, but that place was a freak show.” Evelyn proceeds to run upstairs to a spare bedroom and place her suitcase in the room. “So how long are you staying?” asks Tisha as she pokes her head into the room. Evelyn pulls out a dress from her bag and shows it to Tisha, “I just bought this! Pretty or no?” demands Evelyn, ignoring Tisha’s question. “It’s pretty…” responds Tisha as she begins to exit the room. “I won’t be here for long Tisha, just let me get back on my my feet” answers Evelyn, as she closes the door. Tisha makes her way towards her kitchen once more seeing the empty wine glass and sighs.

Hours pass as the sun begins to fade once more on the Town of New Haven. Everything seems to have gone back to normal as news of Bailey’s attack sweeps the town. Most take it as a rare occurrence with a wild animal who got too close to civilization however, as Mac and Quinton watch Bailey’s body at Crimson’s country house, they are the few who know the truth. “Is she dead…” mumbles Mac who stares at Bailey. “She still has a pulse but it is getting weaker” responds Mada who enters the room followed closely by Crimson. Mac looks down at the sight of his friend dying, at what he thought could have been prevented if he went with her. “Only time may heal her” adds Crimson who attempts to put a hand on Mac’s shoulder but pulls back once Mac and Quinton walk out of the room into the hallway. “I’m so done with this shit” says Quinton. “I didn’t ask for this? None of us did! We should just leave” Mac and Quinton walk down to the main level as Tisha enters through the door as they were about to leave. “What are you doing?” asks Tisha, who looks confused. “I’m done with all of this” responds Quinton as Mac holds his head down behind him. Tisha blocks Quinton from leaving as he tries to get around her, “None of asked for this, but it got personal when that thing attacked Bailey and i’m not going to leave right when it almost killed one of our friends!” Mac bites his lip as he says, “Maybe we should just stay Quinton…” Quinton turns his head towards Mac as he answers, “I’m not their toy to play with” as he points upstairs regarding Mada and Crimson. “You should just-” Mac is unable to finish his sentence as Quinton pushes him back. Mac falls onto the floor as Tisha runs to him, “Mac!” she yells. Quinton watches Tisha and Mac as he turns to leave.

BANG! The door slams open as darkness enters the house with the demon who has found their location. Quinton goes to punch the beast as the creature headbutts him into the wall. Tisha screams as the demon disregards Quinton and makes its way towards Mac and Tisha. “Run!” cries Mac as he motions for Tisha to abandon him. Tisha doesn’t move as the demon inches closer to them. A bolt of fire hits the beast as Crimson appears on the stairs conjuring fireball after fireball to stop the beast. The demon dodges her bolts of fire as it tackles her to the ground knocking her out. The demon then leaps to Mac and Tisha. Tisha begins to run as the beast looks over top of Mac. Mac stares into the eyes of the beast as its claws dig into Mac’s legs. Mac cries out in horror as the demon roars. A bolt of magical energy hits the beast as Mada begins to repeat a phrase summoning a magical beast to fight the demon. Mada commands the magical beast to attack the demon as the two magical entities start to clash with one another. The lights begin to flicker as Mada’s hands curve and she begins to levitate above the ground. “Be casted back to the hell where you came from!” she yells as Tisha watches from the corner. Mada’s eyes begin to glow purple as her magical beast is killed by the demon. A bright purple light encircles Mada as a bolt of energy appears from her hands and casts the demon from the house. The demon is thrown through the windows as it scurries away into the darkness to regenerate its energy. Tisha mouth is wide open as she stares at Mada who looks at Tisha, “Goodbye my friend” Mada’s body explodes into thousands of pieces of magical energy. Silence rests over the house as Tisha re-enters the room unable to speak.

Minutes pass as Tisha sits beside Mac. The just lays beside him before Crimson awakes to the aftermath. Crimson shrieks in horror at the news of Mada’s sacrifice as tears stream down her face. Quinton wakes to the scene of Crimson and Tisha aiding an injured Mac stand. “His legs are injured but he will live” stutters Crimson, as she is barely able to speak. Crimson makes eye contact with Quinton shouting, “You cannot leave! This demon will not leave you alone until you are all dead!” Quinton looks at the destroyed door where the demon entered. “You were all given these elemental gifts for a reason, you cannot hide from your destinies. Mada made her sacrifice, are you willing to make yours?” adds Crimson.

As the residents of New Haven slumber in peace, Chandler exits Edward’s house after another nightly encounter. She scratches her hair before beginning to walk down his lawn. The moon shines ever so bright to show her the way as she reaches for her keys to her car. She freezes in place as her mind begins to twist and turn. Her eyes close as the darkness in her mind and vision soon form a picture of Tisha being attacked by an animal. The animal rips out Tisha’s throat as now stares at Chandler who opens her eyes back to present reality. She gasps and looks around at the silence of her present life. Her hands shake as she whispers, “What was that..?”
