Episode Six: "Those We Couldn't See"

John now stands before Samuel, slightly smiling as Samuel begins to cry. Dropping to the floor, Samuel’s eyes pour out tears as they hit the floor. John crouches over, looking into Samuel’s eyes. The first signs of morning appear, rays of sunlight peek inside Samuel’s house that help illuminates John’s appearance. Samuel holds out his hand, going to touch John’s body as it passes through John’s transparent body. Samuel pauses, holding his hand as it cuts through John’s ghost-like body. “Why are you doing this?” asks John, standing back up as he looks down on Samuel. The bronze object dimly glows in the background, Samuel glances at it for a moment before looking up at John, “I’m doing it for you.”

Wendy’s eyes open, finding herself lying in her bed. Her vision is blurry as the candles in her room remain lit. Her window blinds now open let in the morning light with Adore and Brittany sitting beside her bed. Wendy moves her head, looking up to her ceiling to notice that the rope which supported her neck is now sliced in half. Brittany rises, inching her way over to Wendy before slapping her across the face. Brittany tries to maintain her firm composure, her body slightly vibrating. “You’re such a fucking idiot,” says Brittany calmly, trying not to yell at Wendy. “How dare you call me and say you’re going to end your life. Don’t make us feel guilty for your actions” continues Brittany, her eyes blood red from staying up to guard Wendy against doing something stupid again. Adore remains quiet in the background, looking down at the floor in disappointment. Brittany paces around the room, “I don’t know what you want from us Wendy, we’re trying to be your friends but you’re closing yourself off from us.” Wendy turns her body, covering her face with a blanket on her bed to hide her shame. Brittany sighs, trying to stay relaxed, “Stay here and don’t do anything, we need to phone Tisha and tell her what you’ve done” commands Brittany, Adore standing to follow her as they exit the room. Wendy’s bedroom goes silent, Wendy starting to cry as a small breeze forms in her room. Wendy hears footsteps as someone sits down beside her, the person releasing a deep breath. “What has happened to you,” says the person, Wendy now revealing her face as she notices that it isn’t Adore or Brittany. Wendy screams, locking eyes as the person is revealed to be Mia. Wendy starts to hyperventilate, closing her eyes. “This is just a dream, please don’t let me have visions…” Mia places her hand on Wendy, ceasing her hyperventilation as a warm glow of heat transfers to Wendy’s body. “This isn’t a dream” announces Mia, the ghostly girl smiling at Wendy. Brittany and Adore are heard slamming against Wendy’s door, trying to get back into her room. The door remains locked by a mysterious force as Mia rises, “I don’t have much time.” Wendy peeks out from under her blanket, watching Mia travel around her room. “It’s so good to see you” mumbles Wendy, barely able to make out words. Mia holds a hint of a smile, “I told you not to spend your time mourning me, you’re supposed to be doing great things.” Wendy bites her lip, “We were best friends, you were everything to me…” The knocking from Brittany and Adore continues to sound as the girls talk. “I chose the path that I wanted by saving Sabrina” explains Mia, sitting on the edge of Wendy’s bed. “I feel so alone…” adds Wendy, the girl still in tears. “I am here with you every moment. Be strong every moment of your life.” Wendy starts to nod her head at Mia’s comment. Mia stands and goes to hold Wendy’s hand, “Live the life that I couldn’t.” Wendy shakes her head in agreeance, wiping her tears away. Mia stands back up, tilting her head to look out Wendy’s window. Looking into the distance, the breeze inside Wendy’s room begins to pick up once more. “Sometimes you have to let go to move forward, but don’t worry, I’ll always be with you.” Mia’s body begins to fade back into nothing, “Also, please slap Brittany for us in the future? She needs a taste of her own medicine sometimes” giggles Mia, her body now disappearing. The room now grows quiet once more, Wendy looks around as she faintly laughs. The door slams open as Adore and Brittany rush in, seeing Wendy laughing alone in her bed.

Crimson walks home, the battle with Esdeath now over. She didn’t feel welcome at Tisha’s house, and with Jenni’s presence there, it didn’t feel right to be there. A cool breeze forms as it touches Crimson’s face, blowing her hair to one side. Crimson quickly turns, igniting her hand on fire as she hears footsteps coming from behind her. Her old teacher Mada stands before her, the feeble old woman still cheerful as ever. Crimson approaches Mada, holding in her emotions. “How…” whispers Crimson, unable to explains Mada’s appearance. “Someone has activated The Orb” replies Mada, the wrinkles on her face being visible to Crimson. Nothing had changed about Mada, even in ghost form she still looked joyful. “What happened to you Crimson? What had become of you?” questions Mada, pitying her apprentice’s current state. “I made a mistake… J-Jenni…” responds Crimson’s, trying to explain herself. Mada takes her apprentice’s hands, “There is no perfect human in the world, and no perfect Descendant. We all make mistakes, but we can all learn from them, and carry on.” Crimson looks down at the ground, “I’ve failed you, Mada…” Mada tilts Crimson’s head back up, “Nonsense! Every now and then we take the wrong path, and sometimes we just need a little guidance.” Mada smiles and she turns, beginning to walk away. “We never stop learning Crimson, just because you teach other, doesn’t mean you can’t stop to learn for yourself.” The breeze picks up once more, Mada’s body vanishing into the distance as Crimson is left alone. “We all make mistakes…” repeats Crimson, Mada’s words not leaving her mind.

Mac and Sabrina drive back to his house, coming from Tisha’s where Sabrina informed him on the earlier events of the evening. “I could have came with you, it’s not safe for you to fight Esdeath by yourself,” says Mac, giving heck to Sabrina for her actions. Sabrina crosses her arms, “Chandler was dying, I wasn’t just going to let her die like I did. I don’t need you to do everything with me, I mean I'm sure you were doing more important things like helping Alexis with her powers” snaps Sabrina, looking out the car window. “She has improved a lot ac-” replies Mac before he is cut off by Sabrina, “Can you just shut up about her? God, every time we’re together you’re talking about her.” Mac increases the speed of the car as he responds, “She is quite talented.” Sabrina laughs, “I bet.” The two of them going silent as the car drives further down the street.

“I’m glad to see that you’re moving on” smiles Ariel, her ghostly body greeting Anthony in his house. “How is this even possible?” mutters Anthony, his mouth wide open. “I cannot explain it to you, but you will find out in the future. Those which humans cannot see normally are appearing to those close to them” answers Ariel, Anthony’s old friend comforting him. “You need to help Wendy and Samuel, their souls are lost. Their fates are not sealed yet” adds Ariel, dressed in all white. “Are you in a better place now?” asks Anthony, looking at his friend. Ariel smiles, “I’m with the others, and we’re always watching over you.” Anthony goes to hug Ariel, his body going through hers. “Only we can touch you, but the thought of you touching me again will happen one day” explains Ariel. Ariel’s body begins to fade, “Just remember Anthony, don’t take life too seriously, or you’ll find that time just flies by.”

Darkness surrounds Edward as he lays in Tisha’s basement, now alone as he tries to sleep in peace. A small gust picks up in the basement, soon Edward feeling a small hand wrap around his palm. The body snuggles around him as he opens his eyes to start crying. With his is Danny, his son snuggling with him while he can in their dwindling time. “You never got to  hold me while I was dying, so I'm letting you now” whispers Danny, his heat transferring to Edward. Danny lets his father rock him back and forth, the little child closing his eyes as his father soothes him to sleep. “You need to get out of this cell brother,” says another voice, Bobby also appearing to Edward. Looking around, Edward doesn’t question what is happening, he just lets it unfold. “Don’t let our deaths go in vain” adds Bobby, leaning against the metal wall. “Please don’t trust that bitch Esdeath,” says Natalya, her ghost form appearing to Edward. “Look around you, all of us have died for the side you fought for, maybe it’s time for a change in plans” whispers Danny, enjoying his final moments with his father. “I’m sorry son…” answers Edward, tears falling onto the ground. Danny opens his eyes, “Don’t be sorry, just go help others so they don’t have the same fate as me.” Danny’s body now fades away, Edward now cuddling nothing but thin air. “Take care brother,” says Bobby, now fading away as well. “Adios, no sappy comments from me,” says Natalya, rolling her eyes as her body disappears, Edward once again alone, but not the same as he was before.

Jayla sits alone in one of the many hidden rooms in her hideout, the Justice Syndicate having no new jobs for her. Bailey sits in the other room, not willing to let Jayla kill herself. “Get over it,” says a voice, Jayla looking around the room to see where it is coming from. “Bailey?” says Jayla, looking confused. “You were never the brains of the operations,” says Veronica, now showing herself to Jayla. Pouting her face, Jayla holds the gun to her head, “This isn’t funny whoever you are…” Veronica steps towards Bailey, smacking the gun out of her hand. “You need to stop this” demands Veronica, looking at Jayla with disappointment. “You’re the one who died” shouts Jayla, angry at Veronica’s ghost. “That was my fault, and now you’re making Bailey feel guilty for your emotions? The Jayla I knew would have never done that…” expresses Veronica, placing a hand on her hip. Jayla screams at the top of her lungs, “This is all your fault, you were my friend and you left me!” Veronica moans, “I’m not going to make this a pity party, I died, move on.” Jayla rubs her head, “But how…” Veronica points to the other room, “There is a girl in there who won’t leave this hideout because she’s afraid that you’ll kill yourself. She could have left, there’s nothing keeping her here. But she stayed, she stayed because she had no one once, and she knows what it’s like to be alone. We brought her in, and now she’s making sure that you aren’t alone.” Jayla doesn’t answer, knowing that she is in the wrong. “So can you just shut up with this crap and move ahead? Bailey and you can just as good of friends as we were. Look, she’s in that other room.” Veronica’s ghostly body now goes away, leaving Jayla in solitude as she contemplates.

Jenni and Violet sit inside Tisha’s house as they sit in her kitchen. “You can stay here for as long as you need,” says Tisha, trying to be compassionate towards them. Jenni touches her head, the aching feeling of a migraine getting stronger and stronger as she clenches her fists. “I can’t do this…” mumbles Jenni, looking down at Tisha’s hardwood floor. Tisha leans on her counter, “What do you mean?” Jenni looks up at Tisha, “I’m trying to stop the inevitable, why do I promote peace when it will never happen?” Violet pats Jenni on the back, “You just need patience and hope.” Jenni laughs, “Well Natalya is dead now. I didn’t like her, but no one deserves to die.” Jenni shakes her head in guilt, “I was drugged, tortured, lied to, and now I feel powerless again” moans Jenni, her foot tapping the floor. “I know my word probably means nothing, but I value it” replies Tisha, smiling at Jenni. “You can’t find peace by avoiding life, and nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it, Jenni.” Jenni grins at Tisha, “Thank you.”

Outside on Tisha’s house, Arlene and Carlisle sit on her lawn, Natalya’s dead body remaining near them as they talk. “I don’t understand…” mumbles Arlene, still in shock at Carlisle being alive. “It’s a long story” replies Carlisle, gazing into Arlene’s eye. Arlene faintly smiles, the first sign of happiness which is ever seen from her. “Why didn’t you follow Natalya?” asks Carlisle, trying to figure Arlene out. Shaking her head, Arlene looks at the floor. ‘I don’t know…” Carlisle nods his head, “What has happened to you, sister?” Arlene raises her voice in frustration, “I’m still the same person I was when we were kids.” Carlisle notices a black tattoo on Arlene’s arm, the symbol of Satan on her arm. “I’ll try and help you, but like Tisha said, it’s your choice,” says Carlisle, looking over the battlefield where the demons once stood. Arlene looks away from Carlisle, “I feel something, but I can’t describe it…” she thinks to herself, making eye contact with Natalya’s dead body.

“I know what you’re going to do, I never wanted this…” explains John, following Samuel around his house as he attempts to ignore him. “I’m doing this for you!” shouts Samuel, running back into his study room. Samuel picks up the bronze object, showing it to John. “Please don’t do this…” begs John, his innocent eyes full of sadness as he looks at Samuel. Samuel pauses for a moment, looking in John’s eyes before touching the bronze object, making it light up again. John’s ghostly body begins to fade away. “What happened to the man that I knew?” whispers John, his body slowly fading away. Samuel sighs, turning to look away from John, “He’s doing what’s right.” John bites his lip, “This isn’t rig-” John’s body is now gone, leaving Samuel alone in his house, determined to finish his goal.

Jayla runs into the next door room and shakes Bailey, “I can’t explain it, but Veronica was here!” Bailey looks at her in confusion, “She’s dead…” Jayla puts her hands on Bailey, hugging her, “I’m so sorry, please forgive me for what I've done.” Bailey slowly wraps her arms around Jayla, going along with whatever she’s doing. “I think you need some sleep…” says Bailey, ushering her friend back to the main room. Jayla smiles, “I don’t need sleep, I need to help other.” Bailey nods her head, “Okay sure, what happened to you? Before you were about to kill yourself…” Jayla lets out a deep breath, “I can’t explain it, but I know I'm finally happy.” Bailey looks at Jayla for a second, showing a glimmer of a smile as the door to the hideout bursts open, Ivy and Esdeath making a surprise entrance into the room. Ivy swiftly closes her eyes, entering Jayla’s mind as Jayla falls to the floor in pain. Bailey screams, moving to find her crossbow as Esdeath send a water bolt towards, knocking her unconscious. Jayla’s eyes begin to flutter and vibrate as Ivy poisons her mind. Her body starts convulsing rapidly just as her eyes explode, blood flying everywhere in the room. Jayla’s body remains motionless, her eye sockets gone as blood seeps out of them. Ivy and Esdeath step over her dead body and pick up Bailey, “We aren’t done with you yet” cackles Esdeath.

GREAT LIKE ALWAYS. ALEXIS NEEDS TO STOP GETTING BETWEEN ME AND MY MAN.
Omg yes loved seeing them all especially King John.
John and Mia had the most impact I feel.
Yeah. They ain't never gonna get along. I mean I'm sure there is some way, but nobody sees it. I don't think Jenni is delusional persay, she is just somewhat wrong? If that even makes sense haha
Poor Jayla :( I didn't really like her but it was sad to see her go. #PrayForBaileyEpisode7

It was an episode really to just kind of lead people on the right path.
I'm glad it was played out this way.  In that sense though, I wish Arlene's parents got to visit her to guide her, like so many got people to guide them.
I feel Mia, Edward's visitors, and Mada had the biggest impacts
She isn't delusional because I know what she wants to accomplish, but Jenni needs to realize that she's having a pipe dream by dreaming of peace.  She needs a compromise.
Sucks Jayla died, but as far as Bailey goes, Seriously!?  She was hung in the balance Season 1.  We need someone like Tisha to hang in the balance.

Extra Note: Sabrina has been on a decline this season because of her jealousy.  Just because Mac is teaching Alexis doesn't mean she should be ravenously angry all the time.  At the same time though, Mac has also been on a decline for even teaching Alexis.  There needs to be a middle ground for Sabrina and Mac that they can stick to.

Questions:
Thoughts on The Episode?: It was a nice welcome back from past character especially knowing we can still revisit some since Ghosts are now part of this universe.
Thoughts on the return of the ghosts of deceased characters?: It was a nice welcomed visit returning to the character many of us never thought we'd see again.
Did any of the ghosts have a major impact?: I want to say Mia had the biggest impact because she is the sole reason as to why one of the descendants are still living today.
Is Jenni delusional thinking that the Descendants can live in peace?: Yes, always will there be conflict and I feel Jenni even after the actions Crimson took needs to come to a realization that things can never be peaceful before she loses what many have already lost. Either themselves or someone they love.
Thought on Jayla's death/Bailey being taken captive?: As I guessed, Jayla was a catalyst to further Bailey's story. Jayla was always destined to die but I was hoping for another outcome.

aydanmac01 Back on my computer so now I can answer questions properly again xD

Thoughts on The Episode?: This was a really, really good episode! That shock ending was crazy and the whole ghosts thing showing up everywhere is really weird!
Thoughts on the return of the ghosts of deceased characters?: I thought Wendy was hallucinating, but once it happened to Edward and Jayla I am now starting to wonder if maybe there's something else going on? And is it sinister? :O
Did any of the ghosts have a major impact?: It appears to have helped the three affected with their grief, even Jayla despite her dying right afterwards...
Is Jenni delusional thinking that the Descendants can live in peace? LOL yes! I mean, once this series hits the series finale, Jenni may then find the peace she's striving for. But she won't be finding that now unless she finds a revelation that helps her allow to have enough peace to satisfy her without affecting the enemies/drama that's incoming.
Thought on Jayla's death/Bailey being taken captive?: I honestly didn't care too much for Jayla up until this point. She wasn't my most favorite character (I've stated previously however that I feel each character is somewhat important, otherwise they wouldn't be in the series)
That being said, Jayla found much needed redemption and she warmed up to me right before her death. It was a shocking death! I fear for Bailey's survival, she's honestly made such a comeback from her negative reception in Season One (I myself didn't even like her LOL) and now she's developing SO well. She's already almost lost her life once and barely survived. I'm not sure if Bailey's gonna get so lucky this time.

Also, I predict Jayla is going to show up in Bailey's visions!

I also agree with icarus_mark on Sabrina + Mac.

Sabrina's jealousy is getting a little overbearing and I have a feeling their distant relationship may actually push Mac and Alexis cross the 'just friends' line and go into romantic territory

Questions:
Thoughts on The Episode?: It was super excited and so intense in the end. Still waiting for Katherine tho!! < 3
Thoughts on the return of the ghosts of deceased characters?: I loved to see some old faces around.
Did any of the ghosts have a major impact?: Yes, actually. Mia < 3
Is Jenni delusional thinking that the Descendants can live in peace? Descendants can't live in piece. When 1 enemy falls down, another arises. That's what I am hoping Katherine would do. :)
Thought on Jayla's death/Bailey being taken captive?: I loved Jayla's death scene. Soo well written. Also Bailey may survive, may not .. I guess we will see.
