Episode Nine: "Repercussions"

Tisha, Chandler, Quinton, Mac, and Sabrina stand in a line. Tisha’s living room dead silent as Crimson walks in front of them. Crimson stares at each of them, looking for some sort of guilt coming from their bodies. “I’m very disappointed in you all,” states Crimson, looking away from the five of them. “You all disobeyed my rules and could have gotten killed.” Chandler glances at the others beside her, “We just wanted to save Kate…” Crimson sharply turns to Chandler, “I’m more concerned with five of you dying, rather than one.” Mac stays quiet, his sister was safe, and no one had died. He waits for his punishment, he would give up anything for Kate. “When you break the rules, repercussions must be put in place in order for all of you to learn a lesson,” says Crimson, circling around them. “Because of your actions, you will all  be required to come to a private lesson, only the five of you and no one else.” The group nods at Crimson’s demands. Tisha steps forward, “I know that you’re angry that we disobeyed you, but I don’t think anyone's life should be sacrificed for the greater good of this group. I know that you were worried that we would die, but we all decided on our own on if we wanted to do this or not.” Crimson steps in front of Tisha, looking down at her, “I’m very disappointed with you.” Tisha looks up at Crimson, “You may be disappointed with us, but we saved Kate. You might be trying to make us regret our decision, and at the time that I accepted Mac’s request, I did regret it. But after Evelyn dying and saving Kate from the same fate, I know we made the right decision. At the end of the day, we are our own people and you can’t make our decisions for us.” Tisha walks away, leaving her house as the others follow.

Later that day, Chandler sits at the same cafe where Bailey and she had previously met. Bailey arrives on time, sitting in the same chair as the two sip on their drinks. Jayla stands across the street, sitting on a bench watching the two of them, her face pale and still grief struck from Veronica’s death. “How are you?” asks Chandler, starting the conversation off friendly. “I’m well” respond Bailey, smiling at her distant friend. Chandler notices Jayla in the background, staring at the ground. “Is she going to be alright?” mentions Chandler, remembering how Veronica died. “She’s gone through far worse” explains Bailey. “Veronica didn’t mean to kill Edward's son.” Bailey smiles and continues, “Last time we were here, I left you and wanted nothing to do with the Descendants.” Chandler faintly grins and sighs, “You had just gotten attacked by a demon.” Bailey and Chandler stare at each other, the two girls begin laughing. Chandler knocks over her drink, the two girls laughing harder, almost hysterically. For that special minute, it almost seems as if nothing had changed between them, just two friends sharing a laugh. The fall silent, their smiles slowly fading away as Bailey speaks, “She needs me.” Bailey turns to see Jayla, Chandler nodding her head. “I need you too,” says Chandler, looking down at her spilled drink. “I know you do, but you have the others as well.” Chandler shakes her head, understanding Bailey’s train of thought. “Will I ever see you again?” asks Chandler. “You’ll see me once and awhile” replies Bailey, standing to return to Jayla. Bailey and Chandler hug, the two the separating as Bailey makes her way across the street. “Who knows!” shouts Bailey from across the street, “Maybe we’ll become friends again!” Chandler smiles at Bailey’s statement, waving goodbye to Bailey and Jayla. Chandler then turns to return to home. Bailey and Chandler had gone their own ways, but they both knew it wouldn’t be the last time they would see each other.

“I’m sorry that I caused all this…” expresses Kate, walking back to Mac’s house with him. “You couldn’t prevent this” explains Mac, holding Kate’s hand. “This perfect world that Crimson built up for us was bound to cave in.” Kate looks her arm, a small bruise from the battle remains there as she continues speaking, “So what happens now?” Mac sighs, “Well now I have to go to a special lesson taught by Crimson” moans Mac, biting his lip. “You’re going to stay and put up with her?” says Kate, shocked at Mac’s decision. Mac looks up at the sky, “It’s hard to explain, but as much as I hate Crimson sometimes, we’re all a big family and we stay together.” A glimmer of a smile comes from Kate, “So where do I fit into all this?” Mac looks at her, “You can join us if you want, or do whatever you dream.” Kate and Mac stop, Sabrina walks towards them in the opposite direction, Kate letting go of Mac’s hand. “I’ll let you be alone with her” state's Kate, walking by Sabrina as she makes her way home. Mac and Sabrina slowly walk towards each other, standing in front of each other. “Hi,” says Mac. “Hi” replies Sabrina. Sabrine starts by saying, “So look, I know there’s been lots of drama in your life right now but-” Mac grabs Sabrina and kisses her. The two move their heads away from each other after a few seconds. Sabrina smiles, “I thought you were dating Kate!” Mac looks at Sabrina strangely, “What?” Sabrina puts her hands on her head in frustration, “I thought you were dating Sabrina so I was sorta avoiding you earlier.” The two look at each other, Mac starts laughing at Sabrina as she lets him. “I was a tad jealous…” confesses Sabrina, letting Mac finish his laughter at Sabrina. Mac grabs her hand, “You sure are something, Sabrina.” Sabrina looks at Mac jokingly, “You’re the only one to blame.”

Crimson enters Tisha’s basement, no steel door there but only a new wooden door in its place. At the bottom, Natalya, Arlene, and Edward sit on the cold metal ground. “Back where you belong” snickers Crimson at the sight of Natalya. “What do you want?” moans Arlene, sick at the thought of being captured. “I just want to watch you in this moment, you can’t do anything but feel your failure” states Crimson. “You killed John and many of my other students were put in danger by you three.” Edward looks up at Crimson, “I was being controlled by Bobby you bitch. My child just died and I can’t even hold him in my arms…” Crimson looks down at Edward, his face full of sadness and the first time that Crimson had ever seen him in defeat. “You killed John, and now your son was the price you had to pay for your actions.” Natalya laughs at Crimson, “You idiot, I killed John, not Edward. I may have killed him because we were on opposite sides, but at least I have loyalty to the ones I'm close to. Also, it won’t be long before Bobby and Ruthie come to rescue us, and once again, one of your Descendants will have to pay for your mistakes.” Natalya stands, running towards Crimson as she lights a firebolt to shoot at her. Natalya is hit by an invisible purple shield, flying backward and hitting the wall. “What is this?” murmurs Natalya. “Like you said, I learned my lesson and placed a spell wall around you three.” Arlene watches Natalya and doesn’t react to her pain, “Screw yourself bitch.” Arlene watches Crimson walk back up the stairs, closing the door as the three of them are surrounded by darkness.

Brittany, Mia, and Wendy open the door to Crimson’s bedroom. The three of them sneaking in as Crimson heads to the basement to talk to Edward and the others. “We shouldn’t be doing this…” says Mia. “I just want to know if she the broken parts of my phone” explains Brittany, looking around the room. “We could get in serious trouble…” adds Wendy, siding with Mia. Brittany looks under Crimson’s pillow, a small book hiding under the pillow as she grabs it. “What is this?” asks Brittany, showing the book to Mia and Wendy. Wendy takes the book from Brittany, opening it. Mia and Wendy turn the pages of the book, “What is all this…” questions Mia, shocked by the reading of the book. “Look at this one!” points Wendy, making Mia stop. Brittany peeks at the two who read a certain page. The door slams open, Crimson standing at the door, “Get out!” Mia drops the book, Wendy and Brittany running by Crimson to leave the room. Crimson stops Mia before she exits, “Did you read any of this?” Mia freezes in her track, her body shaking. “Only one page…” Mia points at the page which she read. “You mustn’t tell anyone about what you saw” commands Crimson, letting Mia now leave. Mia nods, leaving the room as she is unable to forget what she had just read.

“At least they are safe now” expresses Ariel, sitting on a park bench with Anthony and Adore. “I’m hurt they didn’t ask for my help” confesses Adore, crossing her arms. “Well I mean you could have died and they are a close-knit friend group” explains Anthony. Ariel looks at the restaurant where Anthony and herself used to work. “Why do we have to explore our powers?” asks Ariel, confused and wanting answers. Anthony doesn’t answer, he is unable to explain it to Ariel. “Well I mean it’s out destinies!” says Adore. “I’m shocked you wouldn’t want to know more about yourself.” Ariel turns her head towards Adore, “I already know plenty about myself thank you very much. And, I wouldn’t mind being normal and just going back to the time where I was a bartender.” Anthony goes to place his arm around her, “Ariel…” Ariel pushes his arm away and stands, “Forget it! Anthony, I know you want to embrace your powers, but I never asked for this!” Ariel walks away, disappearing as Anthony sighs. “Sorry if that was my fault…” apologizes Adore. “It was somewhat, but I find you do get the short end of the stick a lot of times for speaking the truth.” Adore smiles at him, “Thank you.” Anthony laughs, “I didn’t ask for this either Ariel! I didn’t ask for powers or people to die, or for you to get upset. Oh, did I tell you that I broke up with my boyfriend too?” Adore shrugs her shoulders, “Well your life kinda sucks right now…” Anthony nods his head in agreeance, “I know, but I didn’t ask for it to happen.”

As night reaches the town of New Haven, Mac enters his home to find Kate in the kitchen. “So Sabrina thought that you and I were dating” explains Mac. Kate looks at his in amazement, “Really? That’s kinda funny!” Mac smiles, opening his fridge to get a glass of water, “We’re all good now, though.” Kate takes a small letter out from her pocket, “I never got to thank you for writing this to me.” Mac turns to look at her, “What do you mean?” he asks, unsure of what she talks about. “The letter that you sent me to return home” explains Kate, opening up the letter as Mac reads, “Dear Kate, I think I've lost my way the past few months, and I think I just need someone in my life right now to guide me in the right direction. If you’re feeling up for it, I’d like for you to return to New Haven as soon as you can. With lots of love, Mac.” Mac takes hold of the letter, setting it down and looking at Kate, “I never wrote this.”

Clouds form around New Haven as rain begins to crash down from the sky, everyone inside until the storm passes by. Tisha sits in her living room alone, Crimson upstairs in her bedroom as she hears echoes of Edward’s voice from downstairs. Tisha stands, pacing her way towards the wooden door as Edward’s voice gets louder and louder, holding her hand to open the door. A knock at Tisha’s front door stops Tisha’s action, her head turning to her entrance as she forgets about Edward. She makes her way towards the door, opening it to see Samuel there. His body shivering from the cold as his clothes are wet from the rain. “I know that I've been gone for a while, but can I come in?” Tisha quickly lets him in, letting him sit on her couch as she goes to get him a blanket and some tea. “Where have you been all this time?” asks Tisha, concerned for Samuel’s health. “Alone at my house…” whimpers Samuel, his face pale and eyes beating red. “I just wanted to say…” starts Samuel, Tisha sitting down beside him. “John meant so much to me so I've prepared a funeral later this week to remember him. And… I heard about Evelyn so I was just going to ask if you wanted to have Evelyn and John in the same funeral?” Samuel faintly smiles, Tisha looking at him before hugging him. “Thank you” she replies, the two of them losing someone close to each other. Rain beats down on the windows of Tisha’s house, Samuel, and Tisha both sleeping in her living room that night, preparing for the funeral to come.

Season Finale Episode: "The Funeral"

Questions:
Thoughts on The Episode?:
Thoughts on Tisha's Growing Independence?
What did Mia discover is Crimson's book?:
Who wrote the Letter to Kate?:
Any Predictions for the Season Finale?:

Comments

So I never got to explain what I thought last episode because it didn't save, BUT I can make up for it this time.  Also, if you are accepting early applications Aydanmac01, I am ready to give you Carlisle for Season 3 now that I have seen what has become of Arlene.

Thoughts on The Episode?: It was a great way off tying up loose ends from the battle.  :)
Thoughts on Tisha's Growing Independence? I think Tisha really needed it.  She and Crimson cannot stay in the same shadows forever.
What did Mia discover is Crimson's book?: It is a dark secret of Crimson's, and I think it has something to do with what she did to Jenni.
Who wrote the Letter to Kate?: I think it is going to be from a NEW character that will appear in Season 3.
Any Predictions for the Season Finale?: I think it will be a funeral for not only Danny, but Veronica, John, and Evelyn too.  Also, I feel Jenni will confront Crimson for what Crimson did to her.

Questions:
Thoughts on The Episode?: I'm glad we got some closure to the battle and opening up new arcs especially with the letter.
Thoughts on Tisha's Growing Independence?: I knew it was coming and I'm glad, as the series progresses its becoming more known that Crimson is losing many of her former followers.
What did Mia discover is Crimson's book?: I feel its something that'll weaken her, something that she may have held back but also hinders her at the same time. Kind of like a diary?
Who wrote the Letter to Kate?: I feel similar to Mark, a completely new character whos introduced in S3 or someone we believed to be gone from S1/2
Any Predictions for the Season Finale?: With it being titled 'The Funeral' I feel that the funeral for the deceased will be held with the big reveal for S3, maybe even the closure to one more character before the season ends?

Amazing episode, feel like it was a calm before the storm type episode for the season finale!
Loving Tisha! I'm so happy she is finally growing independence and taking things into her own hands. #QueenTisha
I think its something big and something dark. Something that will change people's views of Crimson and add to her storyline.
At first I was thinking it was Sabrina for some reason, but it definitely sounds like someone unfimiliar to us wrote it.
My predictions for the season finale is that it is going to be dramatic and AMAZING. With the title being "Funeral" there will be farewells to characters who have died in season 2. But the show won't be the show without drama so I predict something big will happen at the end of the funeral causing a lot of drama and action and a set up for season 3. I think we may also be getting a cliffhanger!
