SURVIVOR: RIVALS Episode 5

Apr 5, 2020 by SurvivorGames
imagePREVIOUSLY ON SURVIVOR: At the second Redemption Island duel, Phillip and NaOnka had to compete in a classic challenge, putting together a bamboo pole with rope to retrieve a key. Whoever let themselves out first from behind a blockade with their key would win the challenge. Phillip assembled his stick first, but couldn’t reach the key. NaOnka was way behind, but figured she’d go slow and steady. She was able to get the key first and drag it back. She stepped out of the barricade, and won the challenge, sending Phillip out for good. At the Foes camp, Corinne could definitely see the guys bonding and the girls bonding, and wasn’t sure where she fit in, as she wanted to work with Terry and Rob, but also thought Francesca and Jerri were closer with the multiple-time players. Corinne asked Jerri if she was still on board to work together, and Jerri said that she was, and that the girls felt pretty tight and could run the game. “I originally planned on myself, Fran, Jerri, Rob, and Terry working together, so to know that RC and Alison are in the plan, I’m a bit confused,” Corinne said, knowing she could use this info if their tribe were to lose. At the Enemies camp, Colby was upset with Sugar, Domenick, and Angelina, not knowing that he, Aras, and Margaret would be outside the vote. Colby talked to Abi, telling her that he wanted to work with her moving forward to seek revenge. “Domenick and Angelina are playing all sides, and in my mind, they’re even more dangerous than Sugar and Russell at this point,” he said. Abi definitely entertained the idea. Russell still wanted to secure his safety and decided to go look for some idols, but after a long day’s search, he couldn’t find it. At the immunity challenge, the tribes had to compete in the same challenge as Redemption Island, except there were three doors to unlock with keys, and a puzzle at the end. Foes led in the beginning, with Rob and Terry’s quick work in assembling the poles. Aras and Colby tried to make up some ground, but Colby was surprisingly even slower than in HvV. Domenick tried to help out and make up some ground. Rob and Alison were at the puzzle first, and after a big lead, Russell and Angelina were up. Russell knew this would look good in his team’s eyes if they won. Russell and Angelina found a groove, and were able to win immunity and safety for the night. Back at camp, the Foes scrambled to figure out the vote. “Who’s at the top of the pecking order, RC?” Rob asked Terry, Corinne, and Fabio. They seemed to agree. Corinne pulled aside Fran and Jerri and asked if they were down to vote out RC, and Jerri seemed hesitant. “I just don’t know if we should turn on the girls, what if we went after someone like Chris or Terry?” Jerri suggested. Francesca said that Terry was too valuable in challenges, and Chris was a valuable number. Corinne knew that something was up, and decided to tell Rob that the girls were attempting to blindside one of the guys. Rob couldn’t believe it, as Jerri had crossed him in the past. Rob talked to Francesca and asked her if they were targeting him. Francesca answered, “I know that Alison, RC, and Jerri wanted to vote out one of the guys, but not necessarily you.” Rob appreciated the honesty, and pulled aside Corinne, Terry, Fabio, and Chris. “Those four girls are trying to ruin our plans, but we have the numbers to take out Jerri. She crossed me once in Heroes Villains, I don’t want her to do it again.” Francesca told Jerri, RC, and Alison that Rob knew about the plan because of Corinne. Alison was upset that Corinne spilled the beans. “Why don’t we pull Chris in and try to vote out Corinne then?” Alison asked. The girls thought this was a good idea. Alison talked to Chris and wanted to get his vote. “We need to ban together and go after Corinne,” Alison told him. Chris didn’t know if this was the good plan, because he didn’t want to go after Rob. Rob pulled Chris aside before tribal and said, “Chris, don’t go against me, it’s a bad idea.” Chris didn’t want to be threatened by Rob, but also knew that having Rob on his side long-term would be good for his game, since Rob was a much bigger threat than himself. At tribal council, Rob said that Jerri and Francesca had been disloyal to him. Jerri said that the plan was never to go after Rob, but Rob said that not voting with him was equivalent to voting against him. Corinne said that it would be easy to just join with the women, but in the challenges, the men were vital to the group. Alison said that there were huge threats, and small threats, but the most threatening people were the big threats that tried to be small and unnoticeable. “We know who the true flipper is, and it’s not Fran, it’s not Jerri, it’s not even Rob,” Alison said, referring to Corinne. Corinne said that this vote would clear up lots of confusion. Having confidence in Chris, Alison didn’t play her idol. The first eight votes came in, four votes Corinne (Fran, Jerri, Alison, RC), four votes Jerri (Rob, Terry, Corinne, Fabio). It was down to Chris’s vote, and he decided to stick with Rob and vote out Jerri. Alison was shocked, and Jerri couldn’t believe how early her journey ended, hoping to win her way back on Redemption Island.
