PREVIOUSLY ON SURVIVOR: Alec was happy to have made final five and have an idol in his pocket. His goal was to get Michael to final four with him. Courtney knew that voting out Yau would guarantee her safety, but was worried going forward. She immediately went to Jenna and Natalie hoping to make an Old School alliance and say “don’t you wanna go Old School to the end?” while she also went to Alec and Michael saying “who wants two winners in the final four? It’s doomsday. Use me and we can vote off a winner.” Nobody was buying what Courtney was saying. At the immunity challenge, Courtney knew she probably had to win, while Alec was hoping Michael or him would win so he could use the idol on the other. The challenge was to hold their arm above their head with a large bucket of water above them. If their arm dropped, they’d be soaked with water. Jenna was out first, followed by Michael. It was down to Alec, Natalie, and Courtney. Courtney knew she had to just keep her mind focused and she could actually win it. Alec was next to drop, pissed that he couldn’t pull it off. It was Natalie and Courtney, and Natalie finally dropped, not being able to hold much longer. Courtney won a shocking immunity, shocking everyone, including herself, and turning camp into turmoil. Back at camp, Jenna and Natalie talked and Jenna said “well I guess we have to vote Michael now,” in which Natalie responded “do you think Alec would use an idol for himself or Michael?” Jenna thought Alec would be stupid not to save himself first, so Michael was the best bet. They talked to Courtney and Natalie said “I am so down for the Old School girls taking it all. Let’s go after Michael and hope Alec plays the idol for himself.” Courtney nodded, and then ran off to Alec. “They’re going after Michael, but it doesn’t matter because I would be stupid to take a winner to the end, and I’m with you all the way.” Alec didn’t know if he could believe this and talked to Michael. Michael said that they really had no choice, and they had to decide on either Jenna or Natalie. “Natalie has been the most wishy washy, and I feel like we could beat Jenna easier than Natalie in the end,” Michael said. Alec told Courtney that they were probably going after Natalie. At tribal council, Courtney said that she was basically in the middle of it all. “On one side, I can stick with the Old Schoolers, my original tribe. On the other side, I can join up with two non-winners to take out a winner. Both options are really good for me.” Before the votes were read, Alec played his idol. “I have to put myself first and guarantee my spot, I’m sorry Michael,” as he played it on himself. Michael understood, and hoped they had gotten Courtney’s vote. The votes were read. One vote Michael. One vote Natalie. Another vote Michael. Another vote Natalie. Tied 2-2. One vote left. The person who received Courtney’s vote was… Natalie. Courtney decided to stick with the non-winners and go after one of the two remaining winners left. Jenna was now the only winner left, and hoped that maybe she’d be able to win some immunities to ensure a spot in the end. She was not done giving up hope. Michael and Alec celebrated taking their alliance this far, and hoped they could take it all the way as well. Courtney was just happy to still be there and hoped that this would draw a line in the sand for everyone, and that she’d be in with the boys.
