PREVIOUSLY ON SURVIVOR: Following Cydney’s elimination, Abe and Nemo knew they had to befriend many people in the newly merged tribe. They immediately clicked with Brenda, Kirby, and Kass. Kass knew that numbers were good this early in the competition, and knew Joel was an outsider on her tribe and wanted to exploit that. “Honestly, let’s get the Glory tribe on board and just go gung-ho on getting Joel out,” Kass told Brenda. Brenda agreed on that idea, and talked to Andrea. Andrea was worried, since she knew that her Glory tribe was split with Cirie and Vanessa on one side and Dylan and Alexis on the other. Brenda said that they should all try and team together on this first vote and then they could figure things out later down the road. Andrea talked to Dylan, who just didn’t trust Brenda off the bat, but Andrea said that Joel was a good communal boot. Dylan thought that Vanessa was the biggest threat around, having already made a successful idol play, and wanted to go after her first, but wanted to see how the challenge would play out. IN the challenge, the men were first, and had to balance a pot at the end of a plank that they balanced with their foot. Kirby, Nemo, and Dylan dropped first, leaving Abe and Joel. Joel knew he had to win because he didn’t really have many conversations at the merge feast. Joel struggled, and Abe won, devastating Joel, but giving lots of the merged tribe hope. The women were next, and immediately, Cirie, Alexis, Vanessa, and Kass dropped, leaving Andrea and Brenda to duke it out. Brenda knew she didn’t want to emerge too strong, and let Andrea have it. Andrea was thrilled, and went back to camp to get Brenda and Kass’ plan in motion. Andrea talked to Dylan and Alexis about voting out Joel unanimously. Dylan just didn’t like being told everything, and wanted to make a move of his own. He approached Joel and told him that everyone was planning on booting him out. They knew they had to find an idol. Joel knew that he didn’t have idols in his first season, but figured he’d try to look for idols this time around. Dylan and Alexis searched on the beach, and saw a colored coconut in the water. They told Joel to go get it, and Joel found the idol. The three of them were thrilled, and knew it was time to make a move. At tribal, Brenda said that it was fun seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Abe was lucky that he had immunity since he and Nemo were on rock bottom going into the merge. Kass was worried that the amount of people would stir up chaos, but was happy that she was well practiced in handling and dishing chaos. Dylan said that it was clear who was coming out the gate swinging, and who was completely out of the loop. Before the votes were read, Joel stood up and said that he didn’t have a good vibe, and decided to play the idol they found. Alexis and Dylan were happy, knowing a new plan was in motion. Andrea had an idol, but didn’t know if it was worth it to waste after winning immunity, and decided to hold onto it. Abraham had immunity, so he didn’t play his idol. Nemo and Kirby didn’t think they were being targeted, and also held onto their idols. Vote after vote came for Joel, and an entire 8 votes didn’t count toward him. The three votes from Dylan, Alexis, and Joel himself came for Vanessa, shocking her and devastating both her and Cirie, as her game was cut short because of an idol. Vanessa wished she had searched for another idol, for she could’ve guaranteed her safety, but was flattered that she was seen as a big threat. Andrea knew it was Dylan and Alexis, and knew she’d have to do some damage control, for her old tribe was now on the target map.
