Survivor: No Merge II FINALE

Mar 2, 2019 by survivornerd
Previously, on Survivor: It's all led up to this, the final vote read. Before we get to the votes, let's talk about each finalist's journey to get to the end.

Tracy Hughes-Wolf: She started out on the Matsing tribe, then was swapped into a new tribe, with 3 of her original tribe members and Kourtney. In what could have been an easy 4-1 vote, Tracy and Natalie tried to get Kourtney on their side, and just in case they couldn't, Tracy played her idol, sending Brandon home 3-0. Kourtney did side with them, however, and so started one of the strongest trios all season. At her next tribe, she was lucky enough to be swapped onto a tribe with Natalie and Kourtney, but Clarence was also there, and he saw Tracy for the threat she was. Tracy went on to make history by being involved in the only rock draw at an odd-numbered castaway tribal council, where her allies were so loyal to her, they went to rocks for her. This ended in Natalie drawing the oddly colored rock though, so Tracy had only Kourtney on her side. She tried taking Clarence out at the next tribal council, but Clarence had an idol, so her only other ally, Kourtney, was voted out. This left her all alone in the game. At the next tribal council, she got both Chris and Monica to flip over to her side and blindside RC, because she and Clarence were one of the most powerful duos in the game. Tracy's next tribe didn't lose a single challenge, until she was swapped onto another at the final 6. At the final 5 tribal council, Tracy was able to convince Sylvia, who'd been loyal to Garrett all game, to flip on him. It didn't end up mattering, because Garrett played his idol, and he voted for Sylvia, in order to keep the tribe strong. Tracy and Garrett lost the final immunity challenge, so she was fighting an uphill battle, as she had all game, to defeat Garrett in the firemaking. In the end, she was able to pull out a victory and sent Garrett home as the last juror.

Brooke Struck: Brooke was always on the winning side, always in the majority. She won the first 2 immunity challenges with her tribe, but was forced to go to tribal council on day 9. She had 3 other Matsings with her though, so the vote was simple, and they picked off another original Chuay Gahn. Brooke was perceptive enough to see that the bond Burton and Shawn had was dangerous, so she knew to split it up right away, and she had the Matsings split their votes on them, blindsiding Burton as his friend was voted out. Her tribe went on a win streak until the final 9. Despite Burton flipping on her, Brooke was able to keep her allies together to vote Michele out. Brooke's next tribe didn't lose a single challenge, and then she was swapped onto another at the final 6. Brooke was being targeted by Chris, but was able to make nice with Burton again, and they voted Chris out. She didn't trust Burton and she played her idol, but she didn't have to, as Chris was voted out 2-0. She and Burton were able to win the final immunity challenge, earning their spots in the final 3.

Burton Roberts: Burton was one of the better players in the game, whether it was finding idols or having alliances. He was in good with the Matsings, but also had a pregame alliance with his former Pearl Islands castmate, Shawn Cohen. He was able to save Shawn at the first tribal they went to, and instead targeted a different threat, Sebastian. Burton knew he had a target on his back for being so close to Shawn, so he wanted to prove his loyalty to original Matsing by voting against Shawn at the next tribal council, little did he know that he was the back up plan in case Shawn had an idol. His tribe went on a crazy winning streak until the final 9, where he now wanted to make a move. He voted with Michele against Garrett, one of the higher ups in the original Matsing alliance, but in the end, their alliance was too strong for Burton's blindside attempt. Burton was unlucky enough to be swapped onto a tribe with Garrett, the guy he just tried to blindside. He was able to build up enough trust with him, however, to vote out Monica at the final 8 tribal council. Garrett and Burton quickly turned from adversaries to allies, and Garrett offered Burton a final 2 if they voted together. Burton agreed, but also didn't trust Garrett enough to not play his idol. It turns out he didn't have to, as Clarence was eliminated 2-0. On his next tribe, Burton was with his other rival, Brooke. He was able to put the past aside though, and they worked together to take Chris out. He and Brooke were able to win the final immunity challenge, earning their spot in the final 3.
