America's Got Talent S11 Power Rankings (Finals) Sep 14, 2016
imageAnother finale, and this time, probably the hardest to rank in ANY finale ranking on my blog. You may be surprised. Here we go!

10. Linkin' Bridge- It started off well. I was like "okay, maybe they do deserve to be here." And then the other soloists came in and the group started shouting off pitch. There's always one act in the finals who doesn't deserve it. This year, there are nine deserving winners. These guys are the tenth.

9. Sal Valentinetti- I actually really enjoyed this performance, but I wish he hadn't gone first, because he was a little more forgettable by the end of the night. But he had a good finishing act, and any other night, I'd vote for him.

8. Tape Face- I'll start by saying the good news. The good news is, he could have a show tomorrow. The bad news is that he hasn't been able to top his audition since. He's been fine, but hasn't topped the original element of surprise that we saw. Regardless, I could see him becoming a success, and while his act was just good for me, it wasn't great, but I still love him and want to see him do well in his career.

7. Laura Bretan- I love Laura, but this wasn't her strongest. She kills it every time, I just don't think she stood out at the end of the night. Grace got the pimp spot, so Laura will easily be forgotten by the end of the night. But I think she has a big career ahead of her.

6. Grace VanderWaal- I know, I know. How could I? But everyone was just so good last night. The two little girl singers have been amazing, but this week, they were about even to me in terms of how they've improved over the season. They did what we've seen them do before. Grace is just a little more unique than Laura, but still, I just don't think either of them are ready to headline in Vegas. Grace has a better chance of a career, but every performance is the same. She is super talented, but I liked 5 acts better tonight.

5. The Clairvoyants- I was a little underwhelmed this time. It was classic on what they do best, but it just took a while to get to the new stuff. And even the new stuff wasn't huge or unexpected. We knew what the outcome was going to be. It wasn't as good of a performance as I've seen in the past. But I still can't deny how awesome their show would be, and how well they've done this season.

4. Sofie Dossi- I've never loved these kinds of acts, but I really liked her this time. Something about her just improved so much over the season in terms of performance. I'd really like her to crack the top 5, but I just don't think she'll get the votes. Regardless, I'm very happy for her.

3. Brian Justin Crum- This guy is insane in all of his singing. His pitch occasionally pops out a tad, but then he brings it back in. He's a true star, and he could win any talent competition. I really liked the spin on such a classic song. He was the best singer of the night for sure.

2. Viktor Kee- Okay, he dropped a ball. SO WHAT?! Did you see what he did before that? Some jugglers need chainsaws, or big things to juggle. He just juggles balls, but it's still more amazing than any other prop. He is such a true performer and I would pay to see his show today.

1. Jon Dorenbos- He did what Derek Hughes did last year in the finals. He took it a step back and kept it simple. The thing though that separates him from Derek is that Jon went straight for the heart, and delivered. Derek couldn't deliver, and was actually at the bottom of the rankings last year. Jon just made magic, in more than one sense. I was wowed. It wasn't even the most spectacular trick, but the passion and pure essence of it was thrilling. My winner in my book.

Okay, Sal, Linkin' Bridge, Viktor, Sofie, and Laura have all been up for a Dunkin' Save in the past, meaning that they haven't really had the most votes this season. I think we can rule them out. Tape Face is on their same boat, but I feel like he still has a ton of supporters, and can find himself in the top 5, but nothing beyond 4th place. I think the Clairvoyants and Jon are two amazing acts, but more people honestly voted for Jon, especially with the Eagles fan base. Between the two singers, I think Grace got slightly more votes than BJC. So this is a battle between Jon and Grace, and while I'd pick Jon, I know Grace has been the golden child of this season. So, I think Grace will win this competition.

PREDICTIONS:

Winner- Grace VanderWaal

Second Place- Jon Dorenbos

Third Place- Brian Justin Crum

Fourth Place- Tape Face

Fifth Place- The Clairvoyants

Big Brother S18 Power Rankings (Top 4) Sep 14, 2016
imageSo, Victor was finally evicted for a third and final time (but he'll be back for allstars, for all you fans out there). Corey and Nicole were the top dogs this week, but now, Paul is HOH and here's a huge shift.

4. Corey Brooks- Corey is in a dangerous position. If he or Nicole win veto, they're fine, and they've been winning a lot, but Paul is out for blood, and will give them a run for their money. If Corey stays on the block with Nicole, he goes home.

3. James Huling- James can be safe. He probably won't be initially nominated, but if Nicole or Corey win POV, then James is out. So he just has to bank on himself or Paul winning, and keeping him safe. I really hope he can hang in there.

2. Nicole Franzel- So, like it or not, Nicole is safe this week. If Corey wins POV, he will vote James out. If she wins POV, she gets the deciding vote. If James or Paul win POV, Corey goes home. Either way, Nicole makes final three.

1. Paul Abrahamian- Losing Vic put him on the bottom. But now, he's HOH, and he's in the final 3 for sure. If he can win the final HOH, I don't see how he could lose this thing. And I'd be totally fine with it!

This is an interesting final four. All four have played the game in different ways, but hey, we have no Victorias here! So, whoever our final three is, it's going to be insanely awesome.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Corey Brooks

Dancing With The Stars S23 Power Rankings (Round One) Sep 12, 2016
imageThis is a brand new season, other opening of another show. Obviously, before the show starts, I have my predictions, with Laurie, Marilu, Jana, Amber, Calvin, and Jake probably being the strongest, with good showings from Maureen, Ryan, Terra, Babyface, Ice, and James, and probably a train wreck from Rick. Either way, let’s see how they ranked after all the performances:

13. Rick Perry and Emma Slater- It really wasn’t as awful as I expected. I expected it to be Geraldo or Hasselhoff bad, but it was better! It still was the weakest of the night, but I actually thought it wasn’t the worst dance I’ve ever seen. Emma made magic with Andy Dick seasons ago. Could she do it with Rick Perry? We’ll see.

12. Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvinstev- Maureen has a long way to go, and some of her moves were just lackluster and underwhelming. Her passion is hopefully enough to count on for the future, and people have bounced back before, but it was a little shaky and slow.

11. Amber Rose and Maksim Chmerkovskiy- Yay Maks is back! But I’m not sure for how long…this wasn’t as good of a flow as I’d like to see. She didn’t seem very connected, and it seemed robotic. Amber and Maks are both two big personalities, and I could tell there may be some bumps down the road. She has work to do.

10. Babyface Edmonds and Allison Holker- It was sweet, but that’s as far as I’ll go. He is such a sweetheart. but the dancing definitely needs some improvement. Performance level is there, but the technique needs work.

9. Vanilla Ice and Witney Carson- I couldn’t really tell if I loved it or hated it. Just like I couldn’t tell if the moves he was doing were hip-hop, cha-cha, or just Ice! He gave it 110%, which I appreciate and I love how he’s only in it to have fun, and dance, and doesn’t get too competitive. I actually respect that. Down the line, you need to get competitive, but you could tell he was having so much fun doing it. Content aside, that was fun.

8. Jake T. Austin and Jenna Johnson- A name I haven’t heard in a while, but I’m excited to see Jake dance. Jake and Jenna already have great chemistry, and I’m excited to see a younger pro dancer to bring a new energy to the show. They were so adorable. I could see them having a sitcom or something, it was that cute. I was really shocked that their scores were so low, because I really thought it was fun, despite the synchronization at times.

7. Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold- This was pure fun. There’s still some shakiness and improvement needed on the footwork, but his charm alone should keep him around for some time. It was better than I expected.

6. Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke- Ryan got such backlash after his Rio scandals, so I’m happy to see him moving on and having fun. He did a great job for a first dance, and if the voters put controversy aside, then he has a good shot of going far. The potential is there, and Cheryl is awesome, and I’m so glad to see her back. The booing was unnecessary, but was interesting to see how something like that can happen live. I’m giving him some credit.

5. Terra Jole and Sasha Farber- She is the one to watch this season! I am really a fan, and an extra props to Sasha for being such a pro in more ways than one. I’m excited to see what they do.

4. Marilu Henner and Derek Hough- Marilu is a star. She really is, in more ways than one. She can MOVE for 64 years old. I cannot believe how good it was for the first dance of the season, and Derek came back with the right partner. Still lots to improve on, but still such good potential.

3. Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko- Jana is hot, Jana is adorable, and most importantly, Jana can dance! It was a little overwhelming at times, but it was still great dancing, and I can see her doing very very well in this competition.

2. James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess- He was second to perform, and he also knocked it out of the park. He was so fluent and beautiful in his motions and I could see him being the dark horse. Could be have another Helio on our hands? Maybe! NASCAR doesn’t always get the votes, but they should!

1. Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy- Laurie is just a burst of excitement and enthusiasm, and that alone can take her far. I think she’s our champion, and we’re only a week in. She is eager and has the most potential, and she was definitely an amazing way to finish off the night.

Well, I was mostly right, except Jake did a little worse than expected, as did Amber. And James was the big shocker of the night, doing a superb job. He’ll give Laurie a run for her money, though she may already have it in the bag. Since there is no elimination next week, I won’t predict anyone to go home, but if I had to call a bottom 3: Rick Perry for obvious reasons, Ryan Lochte (I just don’t know if he has the fan base), and probably Maureen McCormick, who may have the fan base but seemed to get lost in the night. We’ll see! But I’m a huge fan of Laurie, Jana, James, and Marilu already, and love Terra’s message!

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Nobody! Free pass!

Big Brother S18 Power Rankings (Top 5) Sep 12, 2016
imageWe don't have much time left, but here we go. Our final five! Will Evictor get Evicted? Will PP reunite in jury? Or will Corey pull a Danielle Murphee and put Nicole on the block? Who knows?! Let's rank.

5. Victor Arroyo- Vic is a roller coaster. Last week, he was at the high point, but the coaster has steeply dropped down. Vic's third eviction is looming, and his third chance is almost over. He'll be back for All-Stars though.

4. Paul Abrahamian- Paul and Vic just took a bad route trusting Nicorey. But I'll admit, they're gamers. Paul is a gamer too, but still plays with too much loyalty, ultimately being his downfall. He needs to win the next HOH if Vic is sent home.

3. James Huling- James is actually in a great position. He just needs to make sure he isn't on the block this week, and he'll be in the top 4. And from there, he just has to win either HOH or POV and decide his fate. He could win based on a great social game. Now he just has to play and win these physical challenges.

2. Corey Brooks- Sure, he's the HOH, but bringing Nicole to the end with him is not smart (but he'll do it anyway).

1. Nicole Franzel- Corey is making all his decisions about bringing himself and NICOLE to the end. Nicole has played better socially, and is the brains of the operation, and could sweep in the end. She now knows she is a huge threat to win, and she is using it to make big moves. It's ruthless, but a good strategy. I just hope she doesn't piss people off too much, and Corey gets the blame. But if she gets the blame, our James may just win! You never know. Right now, it's hers to lose.

We are winding down, and it went by quickly. Or it took forever if you're not a Victor fan. I don't know how things will play out, but friendship ends this week, because Victor and Paul have to split up. I feel like three times is the charm.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Victor Arroyo

MasterChef S7 Power Rankings (Finals) Sep 12, 2016
imageWell well well, the finals have come, and I think we have a clear third place. As for who wins? Let's see.

3. David Williams- David almost quit, came back, had a mediocre dish, stayed in, lost the challenge for him and Tannoria, and was picked as the best of two bad meals. I really don't know what to say except, if there was anyone easier to root against, it's David. Sorry, fella. Not a fan. Only one Vegas guy can win.

2. Brandi Mudd- Brandi has been neck and neck with Shaun, but Shaun has always had the front runner status. Claudia had the underdog vibe last season and won, and Brandi can easily do it.

1. Shaun O'Neale- I just don't think anyone has had the journey Shaun has. He's been strong in team challenges, mystery boxes, and pressure tests, and has learned from every mistake he had. He is the strongest one this season, and deserves it all.

Wow, with Tannoria gone, it's even clearer that it's Brandi or Shaun. I've always been Shaun's number one fan, so I'm gonna have to state the obvious, David third place, and the probably Shaun victory, but Brandi giving it an incredible effort.

PREDICTIONS:

Winner- Shaun O'Neale

Second Place- Brandi Mudd

Third Place- David Williams

America's Got Talent S11 Power Rankings (Semifinals, Week 2) Sep 6, 2016
imageWell, Sal was the only big surprise of the night last week, and I’m a bit surprised that Laura Bretan was in the Dunkin’ Save, and got beat by Tape Face. Obviously, the judges made the right choice, but I am still shocked that she was even in so much danger. I think America did a good job, though I’d like to see Edgar or Malevo again. Here’s to the next group (including the Wild Card, which I correctly predicted would be The Passing Zone).

11. Kadie Lynn Roberson- She was good, but nothing great. That’s her problem, was that she went too early in the night and was forgotten by the end of the show. Sorry, but she has nothing on Grace or Laura. There are only room for so many singers, especially children.

10. Kadan Bart Rockett- These kids are cute, but I don’t think it’s worthy of the finals. I agree that they should’ve made it this far, but going forward, they’re just not the strongest. It was cute, but there were some flaws. Where they excel is performance, so I hope they get even better with age.

9. Calysta Bevier-  Calysta took a bit of a dip tonight. It was by no means bad, but it just didn’t stand out like her past performances did. Her softer moments were great, but the chorus got a little karaoke-like. Her big difference from singers like Jayna and Brian is that she doesn’t have the best showmanship to fill a Vegas crowd. She’s someone who can have a great record career, but on the big stage, I’m not sold. She’s a fan favorite, and will probably at least qualify for the Dunkin’ Save, and if she comes back, I hope she really lays it all on the line. This one seemed a little safe.

8. Linkin Bridge- This was a huge step up from last time, especially in terms of pitch. The soloist wasn’t incredible, but when they sang together, it was pretty damn good. It may be too late in the game for them, but you never know.

7. Viktor Kee- It’s the same thing as last time, but it’s just so mesmerizing and beautiful. He’s a true performer, and such a unique person that you could watch for hours and never get bored. Was it his best? No. But it was still captivating.

6. Sofie Dossi- Like Viktor, her stuff is repetitive, but still so intriguing. It just keeps you on edge the entire time. The separation between her in Viktor is age. She is so young, which makes her act even more impressive. The aerial act was amazing, and a great edition to her overall set of acts that she has done thus far.

5. Jayna Brown-  Why do they keep making her the first act of the show? She deserves the last, cause she is incredible. At first, I wasn’t sure, but now I’m totally on board. Her higher notes are just pure as butter and her emotive connection to the song is incredible too.

4. The Passing Zone- Okay, so people didn’t vote them through last time. While I liked it last time, I’ll admit that it was too gimmicky and silly, but this time, they really stepped it up, in terms of danger, juggling, AND comedy! We have no comedians left, so it’s good to have these guys in the competition. They did something that I haven’t seen since Paul Zerdin was on the show, and that was that I felt like I was watching a family show in Vegas, and not an act on a talent show on TV. It seems like they could have some of the best success with a Vegas show, and I really hope they make it through.

3. Steven Brundage- I love seeing what Steven has in store, and this was his best trick yet. It involved cards, visual illusion, and most of all..a ton of Rubix Cubes. I was flabbergasted, and he is such a polished performer now. He should easily get into the finals.

2. The Clairvoyants- This is one of the best acts of the season for me, just killing it every time. I truly am stumped as to how they did what they did. I had my ideas until Iris. I truly have no clue, and I am beyond impressed. If they win, I’m buying a ticket to their show right away.

1. Brian Justin Crum- He is not just a singer. He is a performer. He is the singer who I’d be fine winning a variety show. He is just that good. And while other acts are original, none were as deserving of that pimp spot as Brian was. Sensational.

When it comes down to it, Brian Justin Crum is a lock, and probably the only definite lock. The Clairvoyants and Steven Brundage did great magic, and I imagine they’ll both go through. Unless we have a Sal on our hands, there should be no surprises for top 3 of the night.  Kadan, Linkin Bridge, Kadie, and unfortunately The Passing Zone (they’ve been eliminated before; as much as I loved it, I don’t think America is on their side) are all going home. This leaves Calysta, Jayna, Sofie and Viktor for 3 spots in the save. Viktor and Calysta are bigger fan favorites, while Jayna and Sofie are pleasant surprises to the night. I think Viktor and Sofie for sure will be in the save, and when it comes to singers, I think Jayna may have the votes to shock Calysta. I think the Dunkin’ Save will got to Viktor, he’s a character that they’ll vote for like Tape Face, and the judges will pick Sofie to go through. She’s more unique in what she does, though Jayna also deserves a close 6th spot.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Through- Brian Justin Crum, The Clairvoyants, Steven Brundage, Viktor Kee, and Sofie Dossi

Eliminated- The Passing Zone, Kadan Bart Rockett, Linkin Bridge, Calysta Begier, Kadie Lynn Roberson, and Jayna Brown :(
