Survivor S42 Power Rankings (Top 11)

Apr 20, 2022 by PowerRankings101
imageSigh… well, another hour glass twist went by BUT at least Jeff warned them about it, sorta? I don’t know. I hate the twist, but it is what it is, and if someone were to go, I’m glad it was someone who was more underedited like Lydia. I would’ve loved to see more game from Lydia, but this episode made it very clear who the power players are this season. Let’s rank.

11. Chanelle Howell- Chanelle is the person I think this past episode set up MOST as the merge boot. While we saw both her and Tori on the outs, they went out of their way to really show just how out of the loop Chanelle was, with her walking up to multiple conversations only to be met with awkward silence. I think Chanelle would excel on other seasons, but this season, she just hasn’t been able to get her grounding, and her gameplay is being depicted as way less self aware than even Tori’s, who is almost shown in a comedic sense like Angelina.

10. Tori Meehan- That brings us to Tori…who is VERY much on the outs. But, as we saw with people like Abi-Maria and Angelina, maybe keeping the most “annoying” person around is more enticing for an alliance that is looking for some swing votes. Not saying Tori is in the same vein as the other two, as all three have such unique and different reasons for being in the positions they’re in. That being said, Tori is very unlikely to win this game, and in that case, I’d love to see her stick around just to stir up drama and butt heads with Rocksroy.

9. Romeo Escobar- Romeo was emerging as a real contender, and if he can get some numbers, I think he still is. BUT, this week, we saw a mega-alliance form and Romeo wasn’t a part of it. It sorta surprised me given how close I thought he and Drea were. This has me a bit worried for Romeo, also since he’s been getting some boosts of positive content, and that could certainly be setting him up for a near exit. I hope he can find some footing because he is a fascinating, schemey player. Perhaps he’ll be able to make something happen with Chanelle and Tori on the bottom?

8. Hai Giang- This week was very telling of Hai’s chances in the game. He was SUPER present in the edit, but he also didn’t get his way. This seems to be setting Hai up for some sort of obstacle in the near future. He just lost his #1 ally (and had to vote her out nonetheless), and with Mike getting closer to Jonathan, I really don’t know who will have Hai’s back as their #1. I also think, with the amulets still out there, I could easily see Drea and Lindsay turning on Hai this week as Hai is visibly a threat and now doesn’t seem to have a paddle. I’d love to see him bounce back, but this really was his chance to shine and, despite still being in the majority, he faltered.

7. Rocksroy Bailey- Rocksroy was our hourglass guy, and while he smashed the hourglass, I don’t think anyone will necessarily be mad at him…save for Tori. But even with Rocksroy away at exile, Drea was going to bat for him, including him with the majority. But then again, he voted incorrectly and somehow thought Lindsay was the boot? This man confuses me, but I do think he’s safe…for now.

6. Jonathan Young- It’s funny because I think if Jonathan was going to go home in this early merge phase, it would’ve been last week. But he clearly showed to have the numbers, and I think it’s because people just really genuinely like being around him (and Lindsay made it clear that he SUCKS at puzzles, good on you Lynze). Now that he seems to be in a core alliance, I do see Jonathan sailing few a bunch of episodes. They’re obviously not worried about him enough to vote him out, and even those who target him seem to not be able to infiltrate the majority.

5. Lindsay Dolashewich- Lindsay saved Jonathan by simply putting out the fact that he was not good at puzzles. It’s clear that this foursome is SUPER close, and Lindsay is seemingly in on the big majority alliance. She’s also not a huge threat right now, which is why I have her so high.

4. Omar Zaheer- Omar RAN this merge vote…and he didn’t even have a vote! Omar is the perfect type of ringleader because he is so unassuming. Jonathan, Lindsay, and Maryanne clearly have his back, and I think others are starting to warm up to him too. While I can’t put him in the top 3 because the other 3 have idols, Omar is clearly the safest of those unprotected.

3. Maryanne Oketch- Maryanne remains in the 3 spot because of her idol. But, she is out of the major mega-alliance, which means she may still be targeted. But I think Maryanne is self-aware enough to know when to use the idol if she needs to.

2. Drea Wheeler- Drea has so much ammunition in terms of advantages. My only worry is that she’s so cocky she doesn’t play anything and gets blindsided. But considering this mega-alliance has some clear targets and Drea’s name hasn’t really been thrown out since Swati threw it out (and later got voted out because of it). I think she’ll be okay.

1. Mike Turner- Mike is in the best position to win as he’s not too threatening, everyone likes him, and he seems to be making some good alliances at the merge. He’s just an all-around amazing person, and at this stage of the game, that’s going to go a long way. He also has that idol! Safe safe safe.

I do think the clear people on the bottom are Tori, Chanelle, Romeo, and Maryanne, but I do think the two latter people have more leeway to make some interesting developments. Between Tori and Chanelle, I really don’t know which will go, but because of the edit itself, I’ll predict Chanelle.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Chanelle Howell
