After a dinosaur challenge, we saw Jo’s chances become extinct as she was sent packing, and we saw Evelyn win her THIRD elimination challenge in a row (alongside Jackson and Nick, mind you). Let’s rank the final 8 headed into RESTAURANT WARS.
8. Jae Jung- Jae was SO close to being sent home, and for weeks now, she’s been teetering further and further away from the top spot. With Restaurant Wars coming up, I could definitely see her having the roughest time meshing with the team and working under the pressure of the challenge.
7. Ashleigh Shanti- Ashleigh wasn’t necessarily a stand out, but I do think she’s a competent enough team player to squeak her way out of restaurant wars, even if she’s definitely lower on the totem pole.
6. Luke Kolpin- Luke keeps consistently making some big mistakes, yet still manages to stick around. I don’t know where to put Luke, but considering Restaurant Wars is next, I have to believe Luke will be at more of an advantage than some others. So for that reason, I’m keeping him safe.
5. Nick Wallace- Nick finally won something, even if it seems Jackson was the main reason for his win. I do think he’ll be solid when it comes to Restaurant Wars. I don’t see anyone in this top 5 faltering, honestly.
4. Damarr Brown- Damarr keeps coming SO close to being on top, but this time, he was dragged down by his team. I don’t think that’s a comment on Damarr’s ability as much as it is just the luck of the draw. But with Restaurant Wars coming up, I don’t know if he’ll be dealt a lucky hand or not. We’ll have to see, but I really want Damarr to get another win soon.
3. Buddha Lo- Buddha was technically on the worst team, though his dish was pretty phenomenal. He would’ve been the winner of the challenge if he was working with some other people on his team. Buddha has been hit or miss when it comes to teams, but if he works as well with his Restaurant Wars team as he did with Jackson a few weeks ago, he’ll be good. I could maybe see his unique style being hard to mold with other chef’s visions when it comes to Restaurant Wars, but only time will tell. I think he’ll be fine.
2. Evelyn Garcia- Evelyn has won three in a row, though I do think Jackson was more valuable to the Brown Team’s success than she or Nick was, hence her being #2 this time. That being said, she’s still super consistent and will surely perform well if she performs anywhere close to the same level she’s been working at.
1. Jackson Kalb- Jackson is getting the top spot. Of all the elimination challenges, he’s been on the top of 6 out of 7 of them, and he’s won 2 of them. He’s been the most consistent, so if there’s anyone I’m confident in being on the top/winning team this week, it’s him.
