Dancing With The Stars S21 Power Rankings (Round 1) Sep 15, 2015
imageDancing with the Stars is back! Here are my power rankings for the first night of dancing!

13. Chaka Khan and Keo Motsepe- I think Chaka could have showed potential like Patti LaBelle from last season, but instead crashed rock bottom. Although she didn't place last on the leaderboard, her dance was unentertaining and I think she's in deep danger.

12. Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Tony Dovolani- Poor Tony. Poor poor Tony. I didn't think the dance was bad enough to earn all 4's, but it was so slow and boring. She may show potential, but like Redfoo from last year, I think her time may be cut short before she gets to show that potential.

11. Victor Espinoza and Karina Smirnoff- I never liked Karina, but I really like Victor. He has an amazing energy and charm to him, however, his dancing was god awful. I think it's gonna take a lot to make him a winner. He may be forgotten about by the end of the night, but he may have enough fan support to make it a few rounds. I really think he needs to work on confidence and may be able to pull himself out of the slums.

10. Gary Busey and Anna Trebunskaya- Like Tony, Anna just isn't given the right partner. Gary will make it far for being a character and an entertaining person to keep around. As for the dancing, he actually hit some of the steps. He just won't ever be taken seriously as a contender. I enjoyed it, for its entertainment value alone.

9. Paula Deen and Louis van Amstel- I loved Paula's energy and goofy character. I don't think she has a shot, but she seems to be enjoying herself, and when she smiles, we smile too. I found her to be incredibly entertaining, and she may be the Nancy Grace of this season, and continue to improve.

8. Hayes Grier and Emma Slater- I had no clue who he was, and quite frankly, he isn't too memorable. He won't get many votes except for the small percent of little girls who watch the show. So, he may be a shocking early boot. His dancing is okay, but nothing special.

7. Andy Grammer and Allison Holker- I love Andy! His dancing shows improvement needed, but I think he did a nice job in all. I enjoyed his performance, and think he'll go far.

6. Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas- Mark is one of my favorite pros, and I think Alexa shows huge potential. Some of her dancing was a little sloppy, but she definitely proved herself to be a front runner in this competition. She also looks beautiful and will get male voters' attention.

5. Tamar Braxton and Val Chmerkovskiy- Try spelling THAT last name on your own LOL. I think Tamar was the best of the earlier half of the night's performances. I actually really enjoyed it. She may be a contender for Val's second mirror ball in a row. I think she nailed it.

4. Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold- I loved Alek's dance and think he has potential. He has probably the least star power, which will come to hurt him later on, and he doesn't have as much of a compelling story as Noah did last year. However, he shows great great potential and delivered a heart felt dance tonight.

3. Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson- I think Carlos killed it today. The husband vs. wife dynamic is awesome, and I think both have great shots. I think he is smooth on his feet and could go far.

2. Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess- Nick was a great dancer last night, and I could see him going far. His first dance was fun, smooth, and deserving of high scores, and he is a TRUE contender.

1. Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough- Bindi is the one to beat. She's spunky, she has a story, and she's partnered with the most successful dance pro. As much as I would hate to see Derek win again, I absolutely loved Bindi's dance, and there was nothing negative I could say.

So, contenders in Bindi, Nick, Carlos, Alexa, Tamar, and Alek have been shown. Andy and Hayes are also delightful dancers, Paula and Gary have entertainment value, and Victor, Kim, and Chaka are in danger.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Tony Dovolani. I think he low score hurt her, and like Redfoo, although she might show improvement, it'll be too little too late.

America's Got Talent S10 Power Rankings (Semifinals, Week 2) Sep 14, 2015
imageLast weeks big shocker was Benton Blount making it and Siro-A getting eliminated. I had actually predicted BOTH to make it through, and I had Derek Hughes being sent home. But, it's a new week and BOY did we see some performances! Here are my rankings!

11. Gary Vider- I'm sorry, I just don't find his comedy as funny as others. His humor is a knock off of Taylor Williamson, but still not nearly as good. I think his time may be done, despite what Howard wants.

10. 3 Shades of Blue- I thought that this was awful song choice. I just don't see them advancing any more than they already have. I have never been a fan.

9. Uzeyer Novruzov- He fell. His act failed. And the spinning around in the ring was boring. That being said, I do feel bad for him, and his falling was STILL more entertaining than the rock band and comedian. That is why he is ranked above last place. The other 8 acts made it through their act and did a good enough job, so unfortunately Uzeyer earns his spot at ninth. He may get a sympathy vote but won't make it past Dunkin' Save.

8. Alicia Michilli- I have never been a fan. She sounded okay, but still nothing special at all. I think her time may be done, unfortunately.

7. Freelusion- I didn't love the spectacle and all the robots. Their dancing was a bit lost. However, I still thought it had some entertaining elements in the beginning. They could be a wild card. If America votes as they have been doing, they will go home (like Siro-A and Freckled Sky), BUT, if America learns from their mistake from Siro-A going home, they may vote Freelusion through. They are definitely on the fence.

6. Alondra Santos- I think her performance in the Quarter Finals was much better. I don't think she'll get the votes, but I think she does possibly have a future in her career, and she could be a star someday. There was just better talent tonight.

5. Daniella Mass- I loved her this week. She definitely upped her game from last week. Having four female singers however may be tough for her. But I really hope she gets a spot.

4. Piff the Magic Dragon- I think Piff also upped his game. His trick seemed to be iffy in the beginning, but he brought the entertainment at the end, and put a smile on my face. I don't know if he's my favorite act, but he did a good job, and I think he'll earn a spot based on being a fan favorite.

3. Sharon Irving- Sharon sings with so much emotion, that the vocals almost don't matter. Her performance brought chills to my skin. Being one of four female singers, I think she may have some trouble with votes, but if she makes it to the Dunkin' Save, I think she'll be a shoo in. She may even be the first singer in a few years to win the whole thing.

2. The Professional Regurgitator- I loved him tonight. He did such a good job entertaining. He always puts on a good show, and deserves to win a spot in the finals. He is such a unique act. People may be disgusted by him, but as we saw last time, he still has enough supporters, and should be a lock for the finals.

1. Paul Zerdin- PLEASE, DO NOT PULL A SIRO-A AMERICA! This guy is the frontrunner and my favorite act of the season after this performance. This guy is a star and really deserves the win. Walking off the stage last time was genius, using Howie as a dummy was PERFECTION. I could not ask for a better way to close out the Semis, and I think he is one of the big contenders going into next week's finals.

Paul Zerdin is the one act I am almost for certain will make it. Piff and the Regurgitator are also so unique and such characters that I see them advancing as well. As for the remaining acts, I think we'll see Sharon Irving and Daniella Mass in the Dunkin' Save. As for the last spot, I think we'll see either Freelusion, Gary Vider, or Uzeyer (based on a sympathy vote). I think the best bet is probably Freelusion. I think Sharon will win the votes, and between Daniella and Freelusion, the judges will vote through Daniella. I would, however, love to see Uzeyer get a second chance, but I just don't think America would be able to do that. He will get sympathy votes but probably not enough.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Through- Paul Zerdin, Piff the Magic Dragon, The Professional Regurgitator, Sharon Irving and Daniella Mass.

Eliminated- Freelusion, Uzeyer Novruzov :( , Gary Vider :) , Alicia Michilli, 3 Shades of Blue, and Alondra Santos

Whatever happens, the finals are gonna be a super spectacular show, with front runners like Paul Zerdin and the Regurgitator in it. Also, the Hughes vs. Piff vs. Oz magician trio will be a joy to watch.

America's Got Talent S10 Power Rankings (Semifinals, Week 1) Sep 3, 2015
imageSo, last week, I had two predictions wrong (though Metal Mulisha made the wild card), however, this week is going to be much harder to predict due to the competition being so tight. Also, keep in mind, I was late to the game in watching this episode as well and haven't seen the results show yet. So spoilers aside, here are my rankings.

11. Ira- This is inevitable elimination for me. Everyone knows from an earlier blog post that I really couldn't stand Ira, and I still can't. He ruined all his chances with that 'X' from Howard. Even though he thinks he's going to the Dunkin' Save, I think it's over for him.

10. Mountain Faith Band- If Ira wasn't in the show, I'm sure MFB would be in my bottom spot. I just don't think their vocals are good, and their bluegrass just isn't as good as all of the other singing styles we have on the show. Some people love it, but I don't think it was enough. Had she played the fiddle, she would've caught my attention more. But pitchy vocals and an odd song choice sealed their fate for sure.

9. Derek Hughes- I thought Derek's act was charming and enjoyable, but I don't think it was big enough at all to make it any further. Especially with competition with Oz, I don't think we'll be seeing Derek. The story was cute, but there was no big wow moment, and it was one of the oldest tricks in the book.

8. Benton Blount- I have never really liked Benton, but this performance, to me, was stronger than his last, and pretty bearable. Unfortunately, it just didn't stack up to the huge competition tonight. However, America loves him (as shown by all the polls), and I wouldn't be surprised if he made it, which is probably going to knock out some better singers, but his story (like Drew Lynch) will stay in America's minds, and he may be advancing.

7. Metal Mulisha Fitz Army- I love these guys, but nothing was really different to me. They are Wild Cards, and I don't expect America to vote them through.

6. Arielle Baril- I love her, but her song just didn't have any wow to it. However, with her age factored in, she jumps up in the Power Rankings. I don't know if America will remember it 3 hours from showtime, but they may remember it 2 minutes after the show, when they're voting. She may be a Dunkin' Save candidate.

5. Siro-A- The judge's favorite act (obviously), but to me, I am just confused as to what they actually do. They stand in front of lights at different times and make poses? I don't know, it just lacks the story that Kenichi had a few seasons back, however, their effect is still nice to the eye, and they are the clear favorite in the competition. Even though they aren't my favorite, they are a lot of people's favorite, and should easily advance.

4. Oz Pearlman- I don't know HOW he does it this time. He did a great job, and despite his act not being big and spectacle-like, I think it was more of a wow factor than Derek Hughes produced.

3. Samantha Johnson- I thought the beginning was somewhat monotone, but then the big part came in, and she KILLED it. I would vote for her, the only problem is, she went early in the night, and I feel like she won't stay in America's brains. Possibly a Dunkin' Save, or possibly the next shocking elimination.

2. Drew Lynch- This was the first time I actually laughed out loud at his comedy. I know he has some mixed fans out there, but I really enjoyed his act and thought he did enough to make it through to the next round. Howie may have done America a very big, charming favor.

1. The CraigLewis Band- If these guys don't advance, I'll be surprised. I loved them, and liked this much better than their last performance (contrary to what Mel B says). They were easily my favorite act of the night, and they should advance.

America seems to be way on board with Benton Blount and Siro-A, so I wouldn't be surprised if they made it. CraigLewis was too good to be eliminated or saved by Dunkin', so I say that those three acts advance with the vote (even though I wouldn't put Benton through). That leaves Oz, Drew Lynch, Samantha Johnson, and Arielle Baril for the remaining spots. Baril having the pimp spot will help, and Drew and Oz have lots of fans, so Samantha Johnson may just fall short. I feel like Drew Lynch is a huge favorite from America and will advance, leaving it between Oz and Arielle, with Oz going through.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Through- Siro-A, Benton Blount, The CraigLewis Band, Drew Lynch, and Oz Perlman

Eliminated- Arielle Baril, Samantha Johnson, Metal Mulisha Fitz Army, Ira (finally), Derek Hughes, and Mountain Faith Band

Sound off below if you'd like :) I'm gonna go watch the results now!

America's Got Talent S10 Power Rankings (Quarterfinals, Week 3) Aug 29, 2015
imageI was on vacation so just watched this now. This week was much better than last, but still, only a few acts are contenders to win. That being said, here are my rankings for week 3 of AGT!

12. DADitude- There is no doubt that this was the worst act of the night. It was just too simple and not showing of any talent. Whether it deserved all four 'X's, I don't know, but it definitely deserves to be sent home.

11. Mountain Faith Band- Before you judge, hear me out. There are a few things that bug me, but my biggest pet peeve is changing the lyrics of songs to match the gender. With such a popular song, "Shut Up and Dance," it irked me when she changed "girl" to "one." But that isn't it. The song is one of my favorites, and I just don't think the bluegrass worked for it. People will probably still vote for it, but it just wasn't my thing. Also, the best part of the act was her violin playing, which lasted for only 5 seconds. If they come back, she has a chance to redeem herself and PLAY MORE FIDDLE!

10. Gary Vider- I didn't laugh at any of his jokes. His humor just isn't something I can enjoy, and I feel like the comedy game this year is weak. That being said, the judges loved it, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him go through.

9. Daniella Mass- I loved her voice, just not her song choice. "Bring Him Home" is my all time favorite, but she didn't do it justice, with awkward vowels and bad diction, I couldn't understand some of the words and cringed at some notes. The ending was great, but it took a while to get there. Her spot at the end of the show will help her and she'll probably be up for the Dunkin' Save, but if she'll win it, I don't think so.

8. Chapkis Dance Family- I agree with Howard that there was a lot going on, but their dancing is phenomenal. Putting the dance acts at the beginning of the night is a crime, because I think that they are talented. They just don't have as much uniqueness as other acts, and will probably go home.

7. Selected of God- I think the soloists weren't as bad as Mel made them out to be. I think the choir had its ups and downs, and fell in the middle of the pack. They won't get the votes from America, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

6. Alicia Michilli- I think her voice is great, and she can win any singing competition. But in a show where you have such diversity, she becomes somewhat forgotten about. That being said, she was better than half the acts, and deserves to go through.

5. Benjamin Yonattan- I've always been on his side, and I think he is a shoo in for next round. That being said, he will have to bring more uniqueness, like Howard said, but his performance tonight is just as moving, and his dancing is quite phenomenal.

4. Freelusion- I have always been Team Freckled Sky, since I thought their dancing was better. Although Freelusion doesn't have the best dancing, their effect is better, and I think America will vote them through. They will really need to bring it, especially when facing a tough Siro-A, but they shouldn't have a problem.

3. Metal Mulisha Fitz Army- These guys are incredible. I don't know how a Vegas show would work for them, but they should make it work! They are great. I think America will love them as much as I did, and vote them through.

2. Oz Pearlman- The first trick was somewhat predictable with the Instagram, but the SECOND trick with the receipt was something that blew my mind. How he was able to do it, I have no idea. I am impressed by his showmanship, and think he can make it far. This may be two years in a row of a magician winning, with a strong trio from Derek Hughes, Piff, and now Pearlman!

1. The Professional Regurgitator- Wow. Stevie Starr was someone I never thought I'd put at the top of any list (except for maybe most disgusting), but man can he entertain! People hate him, but I think he will garner enough votes to make it through. This guy may just have the weirdest act ever, but I think he has a serious shot. He is so good at what he does and amazes everyone every time. I wouldn't be surprised if he won this whole thing! P

I think that America will vote through Oz, Freelusion, Benjamin, and Metal Mulisha, and despite being gross to some, I think the Regurgitator will still make it through. That leaves two more spots. I think Alicia and Daniella will gather a lot of votes, but may cancel each other out, leaving them up for the SAVE, and I think the judge's have helped Gary Vider enough and he will be with them. I think Alicia will win the save, leaving Gary and Daniella up to the judges, with Gary making it through.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Through- Oz Pearlman, The Professional Regurgitator, Benjamin Yonattan, Metal Mulisha Fitz Army, Freelusion, Alicia Michilli, and Gary Vider

Eliminated- Daniella Mass, DADitude (duh), Selected of God, Mountain Faith Band, and Chapkis Dance Family

I promise to be on time for next week!!! Thanks for reading :)

America's Got Talent S10 Power Rankings (Quarterfinals, Week 2) Aug 18, 2015
imageWell, this week, I was expecting a stellar show that would be very tough to call. Unfortunately, only a few acts really wowed me with talent. Almost all acts (but 2) had flaws, so let me show you my ranking.

12. Ira- I don't understand the entertainment aspect of this act. It is somehow a favorite, but I really don't enjoy this act. He left out all the comedy, and some of the puppetry was spoiled (the mother on the shell). I don't understand it, never will, but somehow, they'll probably make it through.

11. Myq Kaplan- His jokes just weren't funny tonight. I think that Drew Lynch and Gary Vider are much funnier comedians in this competition, so expect him to not make it through tomorrow.

10. Animation Crew- These guys definitely didn't step up their game, but I still enjoy their moves. It was still interesting, but compared to everything else, it just didn't stack up. Plus, that "X" from Howard does NOT help in any way, and they'll get eliminated.

9: DM Nation- I actually think they're spectacular dancers, just nothing unique. Going first made them unforgettable, and they needed to bring a wow factor that they didn't bring. I still love the dance acts, but unfortunately, they'll be going home.

8. 3 Shades of Blue- I don't like them, never have, but they picked a pretty good song tonight. I still don't think they have strong enough vocals, but as a BAND, the guitars and drums stand out. Too bad their singer is crap. But they have Howard backing them, which will help them in this round. They got lucky with a good judge and a good song choice.

7. Damone Rippy- He may squeeze by because the girls like him, and his act is unlike anything we've seen. He is on the border for me, because honestly, he was still entertaining! And that's what matters!

6. The CraigLewis Band- I've been so impressed with them in the past, and I still am, but for some reason, something was lacking in their performance. Maybe it had to do with taking it up the tempo, but it needed a little bit more "wow factor." That being said, there were still some goose bump moments, and when they belt the loud, high notes, they are worth a million dollars. Way to go.

5. Derek Hughes- Being a magician will forever be tough after Mat Franco's incredible win last year. Hughes doesn't have what it takes to win, but his trick worked, and worked well. It was better than Piff's from last week, and I thought he played the cards well. He went early, which may not be a benefiting factor, but I still think he'll get the votes to advance.

4. Uzeyer Novruzov- What he does amazes me. I thought he'd do the same thing again, but he didn't! He gave an incredible surprise by taking the ladder up another few feet (okay, maybe it was more than just a few). I loved the ending of the act (though the buildup was slow). Other than the length of the final trick, he still did a great job and is one of my favorites.

3. Sharon Irving- She started off super pitchy, and I was worried they had made a mistake on the pimp spot, BUT, then after the rap section, she blew it out of the water, and gave the best performance of the night. She is ranked third because of a shaky start, but once she got going, she gave so many goosebumps and deserves a standing ovation, and a spot in the next round.

2. Arielle Baril- She's no Jackie Evancho, but she still gave such a good performance. There was nothing wrong with it, and she put all her heart and soul into this performance. Deserves a spot for sure.

1. Freckled Sky- Wow. I love this performance because they actually DANCED opposed to relying on their background. Some acts impress me, but some WOW me, and they certainly wowed. I loved their use of background in the end, and agree with Mel B that it was the most exciting part. They have a lot to prove, and I think they should sail by tonight.

So it's a done deal that Freckled Sky, Sharon Irving, Uzeyer, and CraigLewis will be going through. The other spots are all wild cards, and I wouldn't be surprised if Arielle Baril got that last spot, despite an early performance time. I think the other acts getting votes will be Derek Hughes, Damone Rippy, 3 Shades of Blue, and unfortunately Ira. Ira is a fan favorite, and then I think Derek Hughes will make it through as well over the boy band. Mel B will probably be the deciding vote because she was involved in Hughes' act, and didn't love the vocals from 3 Shades of Blue.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Through- Sharon Irving, Freckled Sky, Uzeyer Novruzov, The CraigLewis Band, Arielle Baril, Derek Hughes, and Ira (ugh I hate Ira)

Eliminated- 3 Shades of Blue, Damone Rippy, DM Nation, Animation Crew, and Myq Kaplan

America's Got Talent S10 Power Rankings (Quarterfinals, Week 1) Aug 11, 2015
imageThis week on AGT, we saw the first of the live performances, and to be honest, it was an underwhelming night, yet some favorites stuck out and with a whopping 7 acts making it through, there was room for some error. Some acts fell way below the bar, while some acts surprised me thoroughly, but overall, I'm hoping the future weeks hold tougher decisions. I only really enjoyed the Top 6 acts on my list, but there are some in the middle who need America's vote. So now, onto the rankings...

12. Triple Threat- These guys had the potential to be the America's Sweetheart act, but threw it all away by trying to make their act a "boy band" act. I don't think the judge's needed to be as harsh as they were, but I think that they certainly gave the worst performance of the night. I think they ruined the strong momentum that the beginning of the show had, and I'm afraid we've seen the end of them, unless they have lots of loyal fans...let's just say, "Vote for the Worst" ending their website was the best thing that happened to this season.

11. The Gentlemen- I never really liked this act, but they did give an okay performance. It just doesn't stack up to everything else, and I'm afraid they've reached the end of their journey.

10. Vita Radionova- I love her act, and think she's beautiful. But she definitely got swallowed up by the immense stage at Radio City, and I think she'll get votes, but not enough.

9. Craig and Micheline- I love these kinds of acts, but despite what Howard says, it was sloppy. I thought it could have been much more graceful, and looked like a rough pairing. Even though they underwhelmed, they were similar to Vita, but filled the stage better. They have a better shot than Vita, but their chance is still limited.

8. Benton Blount- This was boring to me, and very slow. However, there's a likability about him. I think he'll be forgotten about, but he's a fan favorite so I'm not completely sure, which is why he's in the middle of the pack.

7. Piff the Magic Dragon- I love Piff, and he is my favorite act, but I was disappointed with his performance. It was a trick that's been done in a much higher caliber, and he wasn't as funny. That being said, he's amazing enough from the past, and will go through based on past performances. He just needs to take it back to his original roots for next time.

6. Showproject- I loved this act tonight, but the judge's weren't 100% sold, which is why I'm nervous. They shocked me, and kept me entertained, and I hope they make it through.

5. Drew Lynch- Wow. This guy is charming. His material is good, but it's hard when you only have 2 minutes, and a speaking disability. He may get caught up towards the end, but he's safe for now, and still a funny comedian, with a moving story.

4. Alondra Santos- I was ready to put her at the bottom of my list with the Gentlemen, but she surprised me and gave an excellent performance! She did the right thing by keeping it contemporary and new, and deserves a spot in the top 21. I don't know if her early spot in the show will help, but Siro-A will make it, so she may make it. She was one of the better of the night.

3. Samantha Johnson- She gave a killer performance that would have won Idol, the Voice, or any other singing show. For AGT, I prefer variety, but she was a stand out, and turned a song that could've been risky and awful into something epically awesome.

2. Siro-A- They started off the show so well, and although some timing was off, it was entertaining nonetheless, and the closest to what a Vegas act should be. It's great entertainment, and they should fly through in a breeze.

1. Paul Zerdin- What a great act! His ventriloquism is spot on, his material is great, and he does things no other ventriloquists do. His act had me laughing more than the comedian, and wowed me more than the magician, and was even more entertaining than the beautiful Vita. He was a great way to almost end the night, and I agree with Howard that it was the most entertaining act of the night.

So we know Paul Zerdin, Siro-A, Samantha Johnson and Drew Lynch are locks. Piff is also a lock for being a fan-favorite. The remaining two spots are between Benton Blount, Showproject, Alondra Santos and probably Vita (for male voting aspect). Benton has been a favorite, so despite his shaky performance, he'll probably make it through. I'd have to say the last spot will go to Showproject, just because they were probably more remembered by the end of the night, and will probably get more votes than Alondra (who was also stunning).

PREDICTIONS:

Going Through- Paul Zerdin, Siro-A, Drew Lynch, Piff the Magic Dragon, Samantha Johnson, Showproject and Benton Blount

Eliminated- The Gentlemen, Triple Threat, Vita Radionova, Craig and Micheline, and unfortunately, Alondra Santos

It's a tough night, but we'll see how it goes, please sound off and speak your thoughts!!
