Hello! Welcome to the 2nd week! Congrats on making it <3
So I was going to do a pretty hard round but I decided to be nice today and flip it so expect that one coming next!
For this round I wanna see a movie that has your FAVOURITE ACTOR in it! Can be any movie as long as they are billed in it. Preferably as a starring role but supporting is fine too if they have a considerable ammount of screen time.
Feel free to explain why you like this actor and performance, it helps put stuff into perspective for me!
24 hours and good luck to all I look forward to seeing what you have <3
I’m submitting “What Happened to Monday” (2017) as my submission. Noomi places the role of septuplets all with different personalities, who must stay hidden in a world where families are only allowed to have one child due to overpopulation. The septuplets take turns going out into the world as one person although there are 7 playing the part. So cool seeing her portray so many different characters with unique personality
I first fell in love with her watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which is one of my favorite television shows of all time. I have seen nearly every movie she has been in and I am submitting the one that made me love her even more. It was a complete change from her usual performances and showed her villainous side.
Actor: Jim Carrey - Not only is he my favorite comedian but one of my favorite actors of all time. He’s just a joy to watch no matter what role he plays and elevates the movie a lot more with him in it!
Actress: Melissa McCarthey - Personally I am SICK of when Hollywood cast people are tall, skinny and white 24/7. I appreciate all the comedies she does theres barely/no jokes about her weight because for some reason a lot of overweight actors/actresses doing comedies tend to have their weight be a punchline!
I first learned about Jessica Lange the way most people of our generation did: American Horror Story. Which is laughable now considering her immense body of work. She was the star of the early AHS seasons but honestly her true peaks are on film. Her performance in Frances is probably my favorite performances ever committed to film. She is simply magnificent from first frame to last. She really makes you fall for the story of poor Frances Farmer, forgotten Hollywood actress. And though she’s not the actress I’m focusing on for this round, Kim Stanley is great as her toxic mother. Overall, everyone should see this movie to know what true acting is.
Actress: Rosamund Pike
