Honestly such a great season but it has the most wtf in lip syncs. The first half is so terrible for lip syncs but then it shifts and delivers some of the best ever. So let's rank all 13!
#13. Venus D-Lite vs. Shangela - The Right Stuff by Vanessa Williams
This lip sync is kind of iconic for being so terrible. The roadkill runway, Venus literally trying to kill Shangela as well as everyone else when she throws her long ass ponytail to the back. It's quite a scary lip sync but like a car crash you can't look away from. It's still terrible though so last place yas
#12. India Ferrah vs. Stacy Layne Matthews - Meeting in thev Ladies Room by Klymaxx
I really don't like this song. The spoken word intro that takes up half of the lip sync is just not that good. From there its just boring and I absolutely hate the song so there is no enjoyment whatsoever from this.
#11. Mariah vs. Delta Work - Looking for a New Love by Jody Watley
While I think Delta actually does a better lip sync here than her first one, the song is just another one where I really don't care about it at all. Mariah fumbles her lyrics and it's just very unmemorable. What I will say is that Delta has this thing where she like performs to the lights. She always looks up as if she is reminiscing and it's like ok...werk!
#10. Yara Sofia vs. Alexis Mateo - I Think About You by Patti Labelle
This is one of the most heartbreaking moments in the entire show. Watching all 4 of these girls before this lip sync have mental breakdowns is so upsetting and having it all cumulate in the most positive queen of the season just sobbing her heart out is so sad to watch. I do love the song though shes cute! I would put it higher as its a memorable moment for sure but as a lip sync it doesn't do much but I love Yara, im so sad to see her so defeated like she was. Season 3 is the toughest season of drag race and it shows here.
#9. Pheonix vs. Delta Work - Bad Romance by Lady Gaga
I wish we could get a re-do of this song in a new season because it is such an iconic song and these two just don't do it justice. On a rewatch i kind of think Pheonix does a better job? Her outfit limits her but she is really putting on this weird performance and her make up kind of enhances it. i dont like the critique of her copying someone because as we see now with the "YOU AINT GOTTA REINVENT THE WHEEL" like girl pick a side.
#8. Manila Luzon vs. Raja - Champion by RuPaul
This lip sync is fine! Nothing really important happens but both are great lip syncers so no matter what its still entertaining. i do think Manila's mobility is limited with her gown but it wouldn't do much anyways.
#7. Carmen Carrera vs. Yara Sofia - Mickey (Spanish Version) by Toni Basil
This was always the weirdest choice in song for me that on an episode about American Patriotism that we get a spanish version of a very iconic american song. it's very interesting and was probably used to help Yara but kissy kissy Carmen comes in and is like "no im a do better" and blows Yara out of the water. I love it when she kisses Johnny Wier it's very iconic and overall, this is a fine lip sync!
#6. Shangela vs. Alexis Mateo - Even Angels by Fantasia
This lip sync is great. Alexis just embodies the song so much and really channels the emotion of the song to the point where Fantasia cries. Like yes bitch werk! Shangela is fine. She tries to emote but it's not as successful and comes off pretty flat in comparison to Alexis who just kills this song so much.
#5. Carmen Carrera vs. Shangela - Believe by Cher
I never really liked this song until recently so I was always biased against this lip sync but credit where credit is due, Shangela absolutely works this lip sync out. Her extremely fast death drop which makes Michelle ausibly gasp is so entertaining I love it. Carmen is meh she just channels what she channeled the entire season which is not on par for such a high tempo song but oh well!
#4. Mimi Imfurst vs. India Ferrah - Don't Leave Me This Way by Thelma Houston
This lip sync shouldn't be as high as it is but it is because I absolutely love watching this lip sync so much. It starts and it's actually pretty good! Both girls are emoting well and then Mimi just gets in the way and then she picks India up. There is just so many iconic moments from this lip sync. I really like when India just shakes her fake tits so hard at the end of it, it's quite great. This lip sync kind of sucks and it should really be lower but I just love it. Sorry!
#3. Stacy Layne Matthews vs. Alexis Mateo - Knock on Wood by Amii Stewart
This is the turning point in the season for amazing lip syncs and it all starts with Alexis Mateo's beginning of her long wig snatching lip sync career. Every lip sync she has ever participated in, the other queen takes off their wig in some capacity. her impact. Alexis is just amazing, her energy is unmatched in this song and she really looks like she is having a great time which is something that isn't seen too much in lip syncs so alot of props to her. this lip sync is so underrated and such an amazing one in my opinion.
#2. Carmen Carrera vs. Raja - Straight Up by Paula Abdul
I mean it's one of the best lip syncs ever and it is for a reason! The most sexually charged lip sync ever and its unmatched so far. The kiss of death by Raja will just forever be ingrained into my head. i love how they both just go to great lengths to one up each other, from Raja taking off her dress to Carmen literally getting naked its amazing. The budget was wasted this season from blurring Carmen out so much omg. Such an iconic song and one of the best lip syncs ever but its not my favourite.
#1. Delta Work vs. Manila Luzon - MacArthur's Park by Donna Summer
Alexis says during this that Manila is giving broadway and oh my god is Manila giving broadway, it's insane. Her emotional performance mixed with her iconic big bird dress is just something else. One of the single greatest performances in drag race lip syncs. I can't personally describe how much I love her performance, especially to such a campy song as is she just turns it. This is also Delta's best performance lip sync wise as well, its just a shame she was up against a goddess in the moment. This is probably in my top 5 of all time I adore it so much.
