Honestly there isn't one I like terribly hate which is nice! Obviously an iconic season and has some amazing lip syncs so lets rank the 12 of them!
#12. Latrice Royale vs. Chad Michaels - No One Else on Earth by Winona Judd
I'm just not a country fan whatsoever. I think straight up country just does not work on lip syncs and to me this is just the most boring one of the season. Both of them do a good enough job like obvi. Its Chad and Latrice but the song really puts a damper on what could have been a good performance. Oh well!
#11. Jiggly Caliente vs. Willam - Mi Vida Loca by Pam Tillis
Another country song and while this is a better song to use, it's still not good in my opinion. I just hate country and this is not a good lip sync. Willam being a cutesy girly pop thing is fine! I like when she jumps up and down exposing her crotch but the real highlight is Jiggly's confessional saying "YOU COULDN'T GIVE ME A LIL' KIM SONG?" I die everytime. Also, Latrice criticizes Jiggly for staying in one place as if Latrice doesn't do that later in the season like tf?
#10. Lashauwn Beyond vs. The Princess - Bad Girls by Donna Summer
I love Donna Summer and her music. Her songs can turn it for me and i've said it for like years that Giorgio Moroder (her producer and has created many iconic songs) is a genius. That being said, this lip sync is pretty meh. Lashauwn was just coming into her own as a drag queen and just didnt have the performance chops yet to slay while The Princess does an ok job! It's just an overall meh lip sync.
#9. Phi Phi O'Hara vs. {REDACTED} Needles vs. Chad Michaels - Glamazon by RuPaul
So in high school for music theory and composition one of my assignments was to pick an artist or something i wanted to present...I chose RuPaul and this particular lip sync (along with Raven v. Tyra) was used. I like this lip sync! I like subdued some of the time and it's ok here! Normally these finale lip syncs up to season 8 from here and pretty meh overall but this one is fine! All 3 do a good job!
#8. Milan vs. Jiggly Caliente - Born This Way by Lady Gaga
My friend and I love Milan lip syncs because they are just so chaotic its entertaining af. However in terms of where drag is now, the comments and perception of this lip sync has not aged well. That's not why its low though. I really like Jiggly's controlled choreo performance, its pretty strong! It's just that I like others more on this list.
#7. Madame LaQueer vs. Milan - Trouble by P!NK
Milan back at it again with definitely her most chaotic lip sync omg. I love P!NK I wanna see more of her songs on Drag Race because this song is great. Rock can translate well to a lip sync yas. This is so fun, Milan literally running up and down the stage multiple times and eventually swiffering the floor with her taint as Willam says. I'm just not a fan of when both girls take off their wigs for literally no reason. It brings it down for me a bit but overall, this lip sync is just fun!
#6. Alisa Summers vs. Jiggly Caliente - Toxic by Britney Spears
The funniest ironic moment is when Alisa is like "im giving movements!" As she like stands in one place and looks like she is seizing. It's hilarious. Jiggly once again turns it. i love her choreo I dont think she gets recognized enough for how well she can actually perform. Her potato split is iconic forever and always. I also love this song. Britney can always turn it and it's really good here especially for an opening where the last season's opening was so terrible, Im glad we get something better!
#5. {REDACTED} Needles vs. Phi Phi O'Hara - It's Raining Men (The Sequel) by Martha Wash ft. RuPaul
I really like this lip sync from a story perspective, it's so cool to just see a showdown after so much build-up. I really like how Ms. Redacted emotes, it's very strong while Phi Phi also puts in the work! It's quite messy at times especially with the wig but she makes it work! I also find this song choice hilarious because I can just see RuPaul at the time being like "fuck the original I want MY version on there!" Overall, this is a great lip sync and also delivers some iconic moments before and after with Willam. i love her so much.
#4. DiDa Ritz vs. Latrice Royale - I've Got to Use My Imagination by Gladys Knight
What I really like about this lip sync is the two different approaches to this song and how both honestly work very well. Latrice puts all the soul in the world to this song and brings everyone to church which is great! DiDa puts in a more upbeat tempo performance thats a little more crazy but it still really works! This is a very underrated lip sync and I absolutely adore it!
#3. Kenya Michaels vs. Latrice Royale - (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin
My god the contrast on this lip sync. With one of the best performances ever mixed with one of the worst like oh my god. Latrice just brings it with the emotional resonance. She is Aretha in the moment singing to her baby and just getting her life...meanwhile Kenya literally murders her baby when she splits. Kenya in this lip sync is just so funny and what makes it so great is that like she is on every beat! For such a slow song she really put in the pop performance for like no reason and i do love it. Nothing can match Latrice here though she just brings it. i love this lip sync so much.
#2. Kenya Michaels vs. Milan - Vogue by Madonna
I've seen this lip sync get her flowers in recent memory but i still find this lip sync to be very underrated. it's so good! From Milan just straight up getting on the ground holding her legs up the way she does I will always be jealous. Kenya is also on every beat of this song as well and her performance style is so much better here. The high energy of both girls sells this song and it should. Vogue is one of the most popular songs ever and it deserves a fantastic lip sync and im so happy it got one. One of my absolute favourites!
#1. The Princess vs. DiDa Ritz - This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole
I said last season that Manila gives one of the best single handed performances on the show...well DiDa gives THE BEST the show has ever seen with this lip sync. Like my god, immediately she just channels it and puts on the best performance like there is not a single thing I would change about her movements, her emoting, her charisma its just all there for everyone to see and it really is high drag. it's absolutely stunning. Absolutely the best lip sync of the season just for DiDa alone. Bring her back for All Stars please!
