I actually like this season for lip syncs, aside from like 1 there is always someone who does a good job in the lip sync so yas!
#10 - Mystique Summers Madison vs. Raven - I Hear You Knocking by Wynonna Judd
I don't like country music and im especially not a fan of country lip syncs (or at least a good majority of them as you'll see later). It's a very stale lip sync song and the performances match that. Raven is cutesy even though I don't think thats what the song is but Mystique is like barely lip syncing. I actually find it so funny how in a confessional Mystique is like "Lip syncing is my field" as she fumbles the words I cackled. Side note Raven saying afterwards that if she lost to Mystique she would have slit her wrists is terrible but like such TG energy.
#9. Pandora Boxx vs. Jujubee - Shake Your Love by Debbie Gibson
Every lip sync from here onward there is something to enjoy and I will say this. Jujubee is a phenomenal lip syncer and one of the best of the show. But her lip sync (and more specifically her opponents) are pretty terrible in their songs which is what has me put it a little lower. I like Pandora but she just did not embody the song while Juju is like playing the 80's pop idol in love...and then does the robot like slay. I'm also just not a fan of the song I think. But that does not diminish the lip sync. It's pretty good!
#8. Tatianna vs. Jujubee - Something He Can Feel by Aretha Franklin
Jujubee kills this lip sync. Her emoting and prowess is just unmatched. So much so that Tatianna literally stops lip syncing to watch her at a point. It's pretty iconic. Tatianna tries with her somewhat messy sultry thing she has but it just cant be matched. I only have it this low because there are other lip syncs I find better and im more so a fan of lip syncs where both queens do a good job as opposed to one unless that one slays so fucking hard its just basically them on the stage.
#7 - Jessica Wild vs. Tatianna - He's the Greatest Dancer by Sister Sledge
I actually really like this lip sync. The song is so fun and both girls turn it. Jessica pulling out her disco fever while Tatianna more successfully does her sultry vibe. It really works here and you wouldn't expect it to but im so on board for the different take Tatianna did. I will say as much of a trainwreck as Jessica's challenge performance was, it was iconic it should have been safe. It's like the only thing I remember from this episode.
#6 - Shangela vs. Sahara Davenport - Cover Girl by RuPaul
As said in the prior blog, i think this is a great lip sync song and once again the girls did not disappoint. The entire time of both of them trying to one up each other is amazing from Shangela starting to dance like Shangela to Sahara being like "oh bitch no" and does like a possible cooch damaging split, it's quite insane what they do and I love it. Kylie says it looked like Mortal Kombat and I completely agree.
#5 - Raven vs. Tyra Sanchez - Jealous of My Boogie by RuPaul
I'm not a fan of Tyra but I can't deny she kind of slays this lip sync. While Raven puts up a good fight with her sex pose kind of style, Tyra just does everything and while it can be annoying at how attention grabbing she is trying to be, thats kind of the point of a lip sync, you want to steal the spotlight. But overall both girls work it and the end of the loip sync where both of them fall into something is great. Another great finale lip sync.
#4 - Raven vs. Nicole Paige Brooks from Atlanta Georgia - My Lovin' (Never Gonna Get It) by En Vogue
This is a classic. By today's standards its nothing but back then this was everything and it's all thanks to Raven. She really said "i'm gonna make a show". The way in the breakdown she just immediately walks to the back of the stage and points at everyone when its like "never gonna get it" is amazing. This was really the moment for me that made me fall in love with Raven and I know its kind of a mess to love her know but idc! Nicole is there and I woulds comment more on here if there was anything to say but there kind of isn't. The focus is Raven and she just carries this lip sync to greatness.
#3 - Morgan McMichaels vs. Sahara Davenport - Carry On by Martha Wash
Morgan in my opinion is the most underrated lip syncer of the show and I wish she could have had a moment on All Stars 3 to actually show it (she slays All Stars 5 which we'll get there but that season isn't well received so it doesn't do much for her). Her mouth matches every beat of every song she lip syncs its so tight every single time and im in awe. Sahara is amazing here too. The obviously iconic jumping off the stage into the even more cooch damaging split is amazing. She channels Martha Wash's emotion in the song and I absolutely love this lip sync. Two of Hearts has been getting her flowers recently so now its time for this one to get the same.
#2 - Sahara Davenport vs. Jujubee - Black Velvet by Alannah Miles
Jujubee's performance is the best of the season. Literally being a mess while lip syncing is just something else and im so happy to see it. She just did it. It's honestly hard to comment on this because its just so perfect to what the song is. Sahara tries with what she does and i don't think she does as bad of a job as some of the other queens were saying during the lip sync its just that Jujubee is the song and became Alannah Miles. It's just that. It's amazing...but it's not my favourite.
#1 - Kylie Sonique Love vs. Morgan McMichaels - Two of Hearts by Stacey Q
Girl this lip sync gives me life. The two completely different takes on this song yet both being borderline perfect is amazing. Morgan's dancing looks like it was choreographed. Every move is on beat and on point, her lip syncing is so fucking tight even to today standards, it might be one of the tightest ever. Kylie just becomes a gymnast and MOVES all over that stage and it's great. This lip sync is amazing and it's one of my all time favs. It's so good. Yas
And that is season 2! A really solid season on lip syncs and we have Season 3 which has some of the best ever! And some of the worst! Stay tuned!
