Tengaged Economic Report Sep 23, 2008
With the introduction of the new T$ currency, the Tengaged community has been buzzing about what this means to them, their games, and the future of Tengaged.  After some investigation it looks like it is effecting mainly two markets:  Blogging and Betting.
Blogs have increased by leaps and bounds in recent days and speculators believe the monetary incentive could be the main catalyst.  There were 34 blogs posted yesterday and a total of 33 blogs posted five days previous to that.  If membership continues to increase at the current rate, daily average blog totals are expected to reach well into the lower 40's by early October.  Even some of the Tengaged Top 20, who have previously been dormant bloggers, have been claiming a stake of their own little bit of Tengaged press.  The effect this is having on the content of blogs?  A change of scope.  While the majority of blogs pre-T$ were concentrated on in game activity, now bloggers appear to be focusing on topics pertaining to a larger audience.  Now if you plan to make a fortune blogging on Tengaged, don't expect to get rich quick.  Only about 10% of blogs have been acruing a significant amount of money. On average, I would expect to earn yourself anywhere in the range of .1T$ to .5T$ per blog.
Now moving on to betting:  Overall, there hasn't been much of an increase on the avg. amount bet per game; however, there has been an increase of single players receiving high bets.  The average bet (amount bet on game divide by the number of players) seems to trend towards 3.  One game in progress that may be record breaking in the amount of bets is Game #7213.  It seems it is mainly a handful of people betting on most of the contestants.  Who will be the biggest winners?  Everyone except those in the bottom 5.  The reason being is that 5th-1st place will get a cut of the money and those betting on the game have spread out the bets in such a way that they will see some profit.
Should you bet your hard earned T$ on Rookie games?  It depends how much of a risk taker you are. The return on betting on Rookie games isn't large. The reason being, there isn't much risk involved.  If you bet on someone that finishes in the bottom half of the ranks, you lose your money.  If you bet on someone that ranks in the top half, you get your money back or make a profit.  So in general, you can flip a coin to see if you will make any money.  If you want to make the big bucks, you are going to have to take a larger risk, which means putting all your eggs (or at least a lot of them) in one basket....and hopefully they don't all crack.
As for the future of the $T, most expect the value to increase in the coming weeks.  With the announcement of a new shop opening and the promise of new items to purchase, many predict that Tenagers will find their T$ more important than ever.
My advice: Blog a little, vote/post on other blogs, and don't be voted out first in a Rookies game.  Save your T$ until the store opens and see what is has available.  If you love something you can purchase it and if not, there is always betting on rookie games to amass a fortune.

Would voice chat make a better use of time? Sep 22, 2008
imageI was having a conversation with someone a little bit ago and realized that our comments were minutes apart.  I wonder if our time could be used more wisely with a voice chat function on Tengaged?  That may require a revamp of the games...like more of a chat room than a bulletin board, but could add a new dimension to the sociability of the game.  What does the rest of the Tengaged community think about that?

Tough Issue Sep 17, 2008
imageI was recently faced with a tough issue between me and two other friends from a past game.  There were some descrepancies in voting (as often there is in Rookie games, when you can see how many pnts each player receives for evictions) and found myself in a game of "He said, She said".  What one person had said to another was misunderstood and then misunderstood again as it passed down the 'telephone line'.
A simple action that cleared everything up was using the mail messaging on tengaged and using the REPLY ALL feature.  That way everyone knew what everyone else was saying and if they had to explain themselves, EVERYONE saw what they meant in their own words.
As a result, I think we reached some clarity on why people had voted the way they did, everyone was held accountable for their own actions, and there was no more "he said, she said"!

Game #7127, Day 2, HoH nominations Sep 10, 2008
For those of you in the cast that missed the multiple bits of the nomination ceremony it is all below:
As Head of Household I have decided to have a key ceremony.  Because it isn’t as ‘dramatic’ or interesting if I announce who is safe all at once, I will be announcing a few keys at different time intervals, but will let all know well in advance, so those nominated can campaign.
To me, the biggest part of this game is the social aspect.  I believe it is important to get to know your cast mates, participate, and play the game.  This is my first rookie game and I recognize I may not get 1st place.  While that may be true, if I’m going to be beat, I want to be beat by the best: the  players who socialize, play to win, and deserve to make it to the finals.
As you know, it is my duty as head of household to nominate two players for eviction.  So with that being said I will pull the keys:
Andy, you are safe.
Brody, you are safe.
Tasha, you are safe.
Tess, you are safe.
Jack, you are safe.
Daniel, you are safe.
Tyler, you are safe.

I have nominated you, DJ and you, Thomas.  A lot of people say that you shouldn’t take it personally if you get nominated, which I agree with.  However,  my nominations should be taken as a SOCIAL encouragement.  You two have communicated with me the least in the cast, so I feel like I don’t really know either of you.  Hopefully you will take  the time to chat with everyone, win the POV,  save yourself from eviction and we can get to know each other better.
Also I feel two people in this cast have some business from a past game that needs to be resolved.  My hope is that with both players remaining in the game, they can make amends and bury the hatchet now, so this does not carry over into future games.
I sincerely wish the best of luck to Thomas, DJ, and whomever is nominated by the ‘super duper calculator’ and also to the rest of the cast as we spend the next few days together.  The nomination ceremony is now over.

Day 4: Ninja Pride! Sep 2, 2008
Siobhan was voted out by the group, which in my opinon, was for the good of the group.  I think everyone in my group knows that I felt she was the start of the negging.  If I'm wrong, I apologize, but it looked that way to me.
Most of the cast finally had a discussion about the negging and it looks like it is resolved.  It was best to get it out in the open and see where everyone was coming from.
Today Tinkerbell, Cutie, and Greg are nominated.  No one has seen Cutie for over a day, so I know that influenced my vote.
And finally, because we always dress up for evictions, the cast has decided to dress up as NINJAS!  We are a clan of bad-jumping high-stealthin' star-throwin' killers!  No other cast better mess with us.  HA HA HA.  I wonder what the theme will be tomorrow.......

Day 3: Negatives begin to appear! Sep 1, 2008
It is Day 3 of a fantastic game so far.  AnthonyA was evicted because he hasn't been on since the start of the game, which seems fair.  For eviction night we dressed up in professional attire so we could "Dress to Impress".  People seem to clean up pretty nice in the group. HA HA HA!
Siobhan and Tinkerbell remain on the block and now Cutie_forever has been nominated.  Tinkerbell hasn't been on in a while, Siobhan has posted to the group that she would like to stay, and I'm not sure what Cutie thinks.
Something new that has started is people putting negative points on peoples' comments.  The positive/neg count makes this game interesting, because you don't always know who is putting those +/- 1's.  I am curious to see if this will effect evictions on Day 3 and then nominations on Day 4.
