American Idol S20 Power Rankings (Top 7) May 15, 2022
imageAs happy as I was to correctly guess a prediction, I was also devastated to see both Jay and Christian go. Christian has been one of my top 3 all season (next to Fritz and Leah) and Jay had been giving us the best performances of his journey this past few episodes. Now we’re down to 5, which really makes these predictions difficult, but let’s first rank the top 7’s TikTok and Mother’s Day performances.

14. HunterGirl (1st Song)- I liked seeing HunterGirl take bigger risks with her song choices, but I think as the competition is going on, having great stage presence and a cool tone isn’t enough anymore. Her performances have been feeling a tad redundant in execution and pitch, save for two: her Disney and her original. In those, there was that extra spark, and I hope she rekindles the spark, otherwise, I think she may be saying adieu this week.

13. Leah Marlene (1st Song)- Honestly, this was the first performance of Leah’s where I just didn’t click with it. It was a tough vocal to sing, and she was able to navigate it well, but I do think she put the performance at the forefront, which did make some moments sound a tad out of breath or exhausted. She’s still awesome, but this wasn’t my favorite of hers by any means.

12. Nicolina (2nd Song)- Nicolina picked a song that was very pretty but ultimately felt a little boring to me. I think the contestants prioritized picking a song that was meaningful to them rather than something that would REALLY showcase powerhouse vocals, and honestly, I appreciate that. This was a personal moment for Nicolina and she should be happy with how it went.

11. HunterGirl (2nd Song)- HunterGirls’ second song was better than her first, but still didn’t grasp me the way I would’ve liked. I’m waiting for her vocals to match her performance quality and vice-versa. It always seems to me to be one or the other. She’s obviously super talented, but I think tonight showed to me that she’s probably the weakest one of the pack left.

10. Christian Guardino (1st Song)- This was an example of a brilliant vocal that just happened to be of a bad arrangement of the song. I think Christian picked the most trendy song currently of the 7 TikTok songs, but didn’t stay true to the melody of the song. While I don’t necessarily think you CAN’T rearrange something, I also think it needs to be justified, and I don’t really know if this new arrangement did anything to improve the song. If he had sang it straight up, with a few variations in the later moments, I think it would have been a much more effective performance.

9. Jay Copeland (2nd Song)- Jay’s Mothers Day performance was good, but in comparison to his first performance of the night, definitely felt underwhelming. I think he went a little overboard with the riffs, and didn’t really emotionally grasp me until the end. That being said, it was still better than some other performances tonight.

8. Fritz Hager (1st Song*)- I put an asterisk next to Fritz’ performances BECAUSE we have to judge it off of a rehearsal, where it’s clear that he wasn’t giving it his all. But even in a performance where he couldn’t give it his full 100%, he still knocked it out of the park and delivered another solid showing. It isn’t going to go down as one of his best of the season because it simply didn’t have the same effect as it would’ve live, but if this is a rehearsal Fritz, I can’t imagine how much higher he’d be on this list.

7. Leah Marlene (2nd Song)- Leah’s second song was way stronger than her first. But in comparison to the rest, I still feel a tad underwhelmed by this particular song choice. I think it’s because we’ve seen Leah do SO much better, really standing apart from the pack, that I think everyone else is slowly starting to catch up to her. I still think she’s the person I’m rooting for the most and still loved this vocal, all gripes aside. It was beautifully sung.

6. Noah Thompson (1st Song*)- I also put an asterisk next to Noah because he was in a different setting due to his COVID diagnoses. The difference between him and Fritz is that he still got a chance to give it his all and actually go full out with his vocal. And it showed. This was probably the best Noah has ever sounded. It’s still a tad boring, but I do think he is improving as a vocalist and it’s great to see.

5. Noah Thompson (2nd Song*)- I’m putting Noah’s 2nd song right next to his 1st. It was once again beautifully sung, perhaps his best vocal. Still a tad boring. I wonder if the technology of the hotel set up helped improve the overall sound of the vocal, since usually they have to compete with a band and the live theatre atmosphere sometimes swallowing some of the sound. I don’t really know if it’s a compliment to say that he sounds better in a hotel, but it’s true! He sounded excellent.

4. Jay Copeland (1st Song)- Jay is my second favorite of the TikTok performances, so clearly America messed up big time. This song choice really fit Jay’s skillset, but the best part was will.i.am’s guidance, having him pick a lower key and really sit in the sweet spot. There’s honestly nothing I can really criticize except for the fact that (and this is the total opposite of Christian’s problem) he didn’t do much to really change up the original. But hey, he didn’t need to.

3. Nicolina (1st Song)- I’ve been tough on Nicolina this season, but this totally worked for me, and was actually my favorite of the round 1 performances. She took a song that I love, belted it out, and kept it classic. It didn’t blow me away, but it was exactly what it needed to be to showcase the type of artist she will be in the industry while also giving some pretty impressive moments.

2. Fritz Hager (2nd Song*)- Fritz wins for the biggest tearjerker of the night. Jeeeeesh. Even in rehearsal, Fritz was able to convey so much emotion. Again, what IF he had been live? Imagine what a moment that would’ve been.

1. Christian Guardino (2nd Song)- Christian absolutely SLAYED his second vocal to the point where I couldn’t believe he was eliminated minutes after. It was his best vocal of the season, and perhaps the best vocal of the season PERIOD. Full of juicy runs and riffs, but also super emotional and heartfelt. I think tonight, a lot of the contestants prioritized the sentimentality over the “star power,” but Christian perfectly merged them both. Best of the night.

So now that we’re down to 5, it becomes so much harder to predict this. As for who I think is safe, I think Fritz is the odds on favorite and just seems to be crushing it to the point where I can’t fathom him going (but then again, who even knows anymore?). My favorite to advance is Leah, but Leah would have to compete against Nicolina (who has the biggest pre-live show edit of anyone) and the two country people (and we know they have a fan base!). So unfortunately, I’ve gotta predict a Leah elimination which absolutely crushes my soul. As for the two country people, I think I’m going to go with Noah for sure, I think his fan base is strong, but the question is, do I also predict HunterGirl or do I keep Nicolina in the predictions? I think I’m gonna stick with Nicolina since I think voters of Jay’s and Christians’ are most likely to pivot to her than HunterGirl. Only time will tell, but this is the most unsure I’ve been about predictions this whole season.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Into Top 3- Fritz Hager, Noah Thompson, and Nicolina

Going Home- Leah Marlene and HunterGirl

Survivor S42 Power Rankings (Top 7) May 11, 2022
imageI definitely saw Hai’s blindside coming for some time now. The problem now becomes predicting this “Do or Die” twist, one that seems so unfair unless someone like Deshawn completely lucks out and it has no effect. I think the odds are in favor of someone having their game ruined by it, so I’m gonna anxiously go ahead and predict the result of the Do Or Die, ranking the contestants based on how likely they are to participate in the challenge and then how likely they are to actually lose it.

7. Lindsay Dolashewich- Lindsay is in an interesting position because I think she’s SUPER secure in the game and has all the cards in her favor… but somehow, the edit makes me think she may be the Do or Die boot. She hasn’t really gotten much of a boost except for the past few episodes, so maybe that’s the editors way of not getting us too attached to her, but also giving her enough to where her elimination holds some weight. I hope I’m wrong because I love Lindsay’s gameplay and think she’s probably the next best strategically behind Omar. I do think Lindsay winning two challenges this past episode makes me confident she’ll at least PLAY in this next one, it’s just a matter of whether or not she’ll be able to outlast at least one other person. This is purely an edit based prediction. And it breaks my heart.

6. Drea Wheeler- Drea going home from a Do or Die would be an absolute kick in the nuts for the Survivor producers. Someone with ALL these advantages gets taken out because she can’t balance as long as someone else? That makes me think Drea will squeak through this episode. But at the same time, I worry because I know Drea is competitive enough to compete, but I also see her challenge track record and don’t think she’s given me much confidence that she could beat Lindsay or Jonathan. It’s a toss up for me, but I do think Drea will be able to see another day only because it would be absolutely cruel for someone that advantage-loaded to be so screwed by a twist.

5. Mike Turner- I do think Mike is in some danger only because I don’t know how likely it is that he’ll sit out of the challenge. That being said, with the edit he’s been getting, I just don’t know if they’d make the audience so attached to Mike only for the game to take him out in this way. He had a bit of a doofy edit last week with believing Omar and looking way too trusting, but if anything, I think this indicates that the storyline is far from over and Mike will survive the night.

4. Jonathan Young- Jonathan will most definitely play in any challenge, risk or not, which is why he’s in the bottom 4.  The good news for Jonathan is that even if he loses that challenge, he’s not going to be the first out.

3. Romeo Escobar- I don’t think Romeo will play. He may be in danger, but he’s also self-aware enough to know that he’ll likely lose the challenge if he participates. For that reason, I have him all the way up at number 3.

2. Maryanne Oketch- Maryanne is likely safe this week. I don’t think she’ll play in the challenge because I think she understands her threat level and that she has too much on the line to risk going out in the Do or Die fashion. She’s got an idol and Drea doesn’t know she does, so even if the Do or Die person survives, Maryanne will be safe.

1. Omar Zaheer- I was worried Omar was the potential target last week, and boy was I SO wrong. Omar is clearly the front runner to win. With so much time left, that could certainly also spell doom for Omar if people catch onto his strategic prowess. But, in terms of THIS week, I don’t think there’s a way Omar participates in the challenge, especially knowing he isn’t necessarily the best at challenges. Him going home tonight would be THE most devastating outcome.

I hate the Do or Die twist. I hope whoever goes makes a big enough impact that Survivor never does it again. Here’s hoping.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Lindsay Dolashewich

American Idol S20 Power Rankings (Top 10) May 8, 2022
imageTwo big things happened: we got a great Disney night AND I correctly predicted the three eliminatees. Now is where it gets tough though, because we have 7 incredible singers left and only 5 will survive the next night. This is where it gets tricky.

10. Mike Parker- I don’t really know what happened with Mike tonight, as he seemed really off in his pitch and arrangement. I liked what the band was doing, but the vocal didn’t seem to meet their strengths. But I did appreciate Mike not trying to shoehorn a country song into Disney night when he could sing something more meaningful personally. May not have gone home on the biggest high, but I still enjoyed seeing his journey.

9. Lady K- Lady K sounded good, but on Disney night of all nights, missed lyrics are VERY noticeable. She missed a few words and in weird places, and I think it comes down to breath support and not being able to fully sing every word of the phrase without taking a breath. Either that or it was just a weird arrangement. Luckily, some of the pitch issues were fixed. But in a night where most people are delivering at the highest level, Lady K disappointed.

8. Noah Thompson- This was yet another performance that didn’t necessarily have anything wrong with it, but was just SO boring. I love the song, and I love Noah’s voice. But Noah did absolutely nothing new with it, which came across very “karaoke” and ultimately left me wishing he had gone for something a bit bolder.

7. Nicolina- Nicolina was a blast to watch. It’s hard to compare her performance with the rest because this was so different in style and presentation. But for Disney night, I think this was a great way to commit and show a different side while also delivering some great vocals. The last note was rough, but she had sold me to that point to where it didn’t matter much to me.

6. HunterGirl- HunterGirl finally showed a new side to herself and it paid off. It was elegant, soulful, and well sung. Her lower placement on this list is only because EVERYONE else showed up just as much as she did, so it was a pretty stacked night and anyone who ranks lower was still at their A-game.

5. Emyrson Flora- Emyrson was who I predicted to go home, but it’s a shame she went home on what I believe was one of her best live performances of the season. She had some great control, wasn’t too pitchy, and ultimately brought something really wonderful and new to that song. That being said, picking a song from Onward was probably not her best bet for gaining votes. But good on her for not worrying about that and picking the song that felt right to her. It was right.

4. Jay Copeland- Jay continues to grow as an artist, really bringing his all to every vocal nuance and rich texture of his. This was no exception. Not quite as mind-blowing as last week, but rarely any of these performances will quite top it. Stunning work.

3. Christian Guardino- Christian rocked “Circle of Life.” He may have gone so hard that he oversang a BIT at times, doing runs when he didn’t need to. But the runs he DID accomplish were some of the most impressive of the season. He’s a beast of a vocalist, and I think this finally set him back on track to where he was a few weeks ago.

2. Leah Marlene- Leah continues to tear the competition apart. She didn’t do much new with this song, but I don’t necessarily think she needed to, because it was beautiful and stunning and Leah can emote better than most singers I’ve seen in this show’s history. Her emotions alone elevate the songs she sings, which is a huge power that not even the finest vocal gymnasts can master. Another grade A work of hers.

1. Fritz Hager- Fritz did the most to reinvent his song, and it was a great rendition of one of the all-time great Disney songs, “Go the Distance.” He just isn’t missing, delivering at the highest level with each performance. Because this night was jam PACKED with excellent performances, I had a hard time picking my favorite, but when I look back at the entire night, Fritz did the most to stand out and make his performance unlike anything else I had heard. Fritz is an artist, and I’ll say right now, I think he’s the most likely to take the whole dang thing.

With such a great night of performances, I really don’t know who stands higher or lower in America’s voting. I have to imagine Jay may be in the shallowest water only because he’s the last of the “Judges’ saves” left, and the other 6 got voted through every opportunity they had. I think the country vote will really show up for Noah and HunterGirl, though I also think Mike going home could be an indicator that maybe I’m wrong. Fritz and Leah have been my frontrunners for the past few weeks, and I do believe one of them will win. This leaves Christian and Nicolina, two beasts with lots of fans and praises from the judges. Between the two, I think Nicolina has resonated just a tad more with viewers, despite Christian having higher peaks all season. I can’t believe I’m predicting it, but I do think Christian may just be the odd man out.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Into Top 5- Leah Marlene, Fritz Hager, Noah Thompson, HunterGirl, and Nicolina

Going Home- Jay Copeland and Christian Guardino

American Idol S20 Power Rankings (Top 11) May 8, 2022
imageSo this judges song contest allowed Katy and Luke to save one of Tristen and Lady K, making up the top 10. Did they make the right choice? Find out from my rankings below.

11. Lady K- Lady K was my favorite after auditions, but by now, I’ve definitely accepted the fact that Lady K has been off her A-game since the live shows have begun. She has such a great vocal quality, but the pitch problems are really showing more and more with each performance. She also has breath control problems because some syllables and words are fully left out or omitted in the grand scheme of things. I am rooting for her, but I do think this performance showcased only the weakest aspects of Lady K’s recent performances. Cool to see her try something different, but it didn’t pay off. And between her and Tristen, I definitely think he deserved to stay.

10. Nicolina- After having such a great reemergence last episode, I think this was a HUGE step back for Nicolina. It’s a shame because I love her story and her talent, but this song seemed to overwhelm even her powerhouse voice. She was clearly stepping outside her comfort zone, which I appreciate, but it was all around pretty messy, pitchy, and a tad too safe in the arrangement itself.

9. Mike Parker- I didn’t like this one from Mike. It was pretty pitchy throughout and the song itself just didn’t seem like it allowed for too much room to make show-stopping moments. He’s definitely comfortable up on stage, but in a song like this, he was almost too comfortable to where it made the song a bit boring by the end. Maybe the judges song contest didn’t work out as well as they had hoped? Eh, we’ll see. Let’s rank the rest.

8. Emyrson Flora- Emyrson’s vocal was hauntingly stunning on the verses. But the same problem happened again this time, where her beltier chorus ended up being a bit pitchy. Just a tad, not to the extent of the performances I’ve already mentioned. But there’s also part of me that thinks this may have been too obvious of a song choice to where I wish she had pushed herself a bit more. Billie Eilish just seemed to be a given, which made me a tad less impressed overall. But that’s just me.

7. Noah Thompson- I was definitely impressed that Noah was able to learn this song that he hadn’t heard and make it sound as good as it was. His voice sounded GREAT. But the rendition was so goddamn boring. Whoever his particular arrangers are need to find a way to make Noah more interesting. Noah can also take some initiative, but I really think the producers can do a better job setting him up for success. And then there’s Katy, who had a little meltdown because of the John Mayer thing, which was funny, but I did fell bad for Noah who didn’t seem to understand the issue. All I could do was chuckle and shrug.

6. Christian Guardino- Christian did that thing again where he put on this much deeper fake voice to hit the lower notes. I hope that doesn’t become a habit because it doesn’t serve him well. His chorus was once again solid as ever, but I do think going forward, he should start in the sweet spot and not try to stoop any lower, showcasing what he does best. This was still a solid vocal all gripes aside.

5. HunterGirl- This wasn’t anything extraordinary, but HunterGirl still knows how to please a crowd no matter the scenario. This was clean, simple, well sung and everything it needed to be. Going forward, she’ll need home runs, but this was a base hit and that’s good enough.

4. Tristen Gressett- If this is how Tristen goes out, it was definitely a high note to end on. He murdered this performance, even if once again, the vocals weren’t ALWAYS there. But here’s the thing, if it’s between Tristen and Noah, sure Noah has the better voice, but I’d much rather watch Tristen and pay for a ticket to HIS show. He left it all out there, and I’m genuinely shocked at the judges’ pick, despite being a Lady K fan.

3. Leah Marlene- Leah is terrific, and delivered another stunning vocal. Didn’t love the chord progression change in the arrangement, but at the end of the day, this is a vocal competition, and in that fact, she slayed.

2. Fritz Hager- Fritz took THE most popular song of its kind, and still made it his own. It was stunning. I think Fritz is the most consistent of any contestant this season, really emerging as a star by the week. He may be the frontrunner at this point, if not Leah.

1. Jay Copeland- Jay not only gave the most stunning performance of the night, but perhaps of the entire SEASON. This is the Jay I’ve waited for. Classy, refined, impressive in his technique, and most importantly, restrained. I freakin’ loved it. This was stunning through and through, and that final run absolutely floored me. Some of the best singing of a single performance idol has seen in years.

Jay made everyone else look small in comparison, and while there are three eliminations next time, I can’t imagine Jay being one of them. I definitely think the other wild card Mike will go, only because he has been more of a judge favorite than an audience one. Lady K almost got eliminated tonight, so I think she’ll be one of the three who goes next time. And then as for the rest, I just have to think about who may have the LEAST support behind them. I think Fritz and Leah are the two frontrunners, then Nicolina, Christian, and HunterGirl have gotten SO much judges hype. That leaves Noah and Emyrson, and between the two, I think Noah has the country voters supporting him. Emyrson, while a dark horse, also sometimes seems to fade into the background too much to where I don’t know if she’s standing out as much as the others.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Into Top 7- Leah Marlene, Fritz Hager, Jay Copeland, Nicolina, Christian Guardino, HunterGirl, and Noah Thompson

Going Home- Mike Parker, Lady K, and Emyrson Flora

Survivor S42 Power Rankings (Top 9) May 4, 2022
imageThat episode was a lot to unpack, but I’m grateful for the conversations it brought up. We also saw two idols played, and both Rocksroy and Tori got sent to Ponderosa where we’ll sadly not be able to see their odd couple relationship there since CBS stopped doing Ponderosa videos. Sad face.

8. Hai Giang- Hai has been on my personal chopping block for a while, and while he did seem to be in a power position this week, I think people may be catching onto his paranoia, Romeo especially. Mike was clearly not happy that Hai wanted to flip and vote out Rocksroy, and if that side of the tribe is looking for answers, Mike could easily give up his #1 ally and throw Hai under the bus. Also, Lindsay and Drea will eventually want that amulet, and this may be the time to take that strike now that Hai betrayed them and voted out Rocksroy. Hai’s days have been numbered, and I think it’s coming soon.

7. Omar Zaheer- Omar has been nothing but bulletproof this whole time, but the preview did have me a bit concerned that maybe some of the women are picking up on people like Omar and Mike’s pretty well executed games. I do think previews can be misleading, but because they DIDN’T say his name in the trailer, I am worried he may be the “guy running the show” that Lindsay and Drea are discussing on the beach. I still think he’s got what it takes to snake through, but I’m a little worried for him, more so than I’ve ever been thus far in this season, especially since he and Hai spearheaded the flip on Rocksroy which could very well piss off the alliance.

6. Romeo Escobar- I honestly think Romeo’s game got significantly stronger with the Rocksroy vote. When people are coming back to camp looking for someone to blame, they’ll wonder why Hai and Omar flipped, not as much Romeo. Romeo is a free agent essentially, and while he could very well be an “easy boot,” I think most people will want to look at him for a swing vote instead. This week may have given him a second life.

5. Jonathan Young- Jonathan lost most of his win equity, not necessarily by his comments at tribal, but because the edit has very clearly been showing that he’s not a very good strategist. I do think this works against his win chances, but honestly, it probably helps his short-term game status because people will likely want to target a bigger strategic player like Romeo/Hai/Omar before they target Jonathan.

4. Mike Turner- Mike is playing a nearly seamless game in terms of avoiding a target and staying in mostly everyone’s good graces. But this was also one of the first weeks in a while where he lost control, seeing his ally Rocksroy go home. BUT at the same time, he was still self-aware enough to vote Rocksroy out. I think Mike is going to take the least heat for this move, because I think people like Drea and Jonathan will be most upset at Hai or Omar for the Rocksroy boot. That being said, he’s the only one with an idol, and if Drea wants to steal it, she can. I don’t necessarily think that puts Mike in danger, per say, but I also don’t think this makes Mike invincible like he’s been the past few weeks with that idol.

3. Maryanne Oketch- Maryanne may be coming out cleanest from the last tribal. I think she got a new ally in Drea, and I think Jonathan and Lindsay are further cemented in wanting to go Taku forward. My only issue is that Maryanne is also idol-less now, but she has that extra vote so she should be okay. I think bigger fish will be fried this week.

2. Lindsay Dolashewich- Lindsay’s edit is picking up, and I’m really excited to see it because she shows some seriously great self-awareness. I think she’s utilizing Jonathan as a meat shield perfectly, but also being able to keep him in check, especially this week when Omar couldn’t help steer Jonathan’s mind. I think Lindsay is playing a great under the radar game, and this week may prove to be another big opportunity for her to gain even more traction.

1. Drea Wheeler- Drea had a big week, not just for sharing her thoughts on the subject of race in the game of Survivor, but also gaining a new ally in Maryanne, and seemingly lowering her threat level by ditching her idol. What her tribe doesn’t know is that Drea has LOTS of ammo still, including an easy shot to steal MIke’s idol. She’s going to be playing hard and I can’t wait to see it, especially now that we’re getting hints of a lady-power team-up.

With this bigger alliance turning on each other, I think Hai, Omar, and Mike could take a little heat for this Rocksroy blindside, while Drea may not be all-trusting with Jonathan. And then there’s Romeo who is really on the outs, but may just be able to dodge the turmoil when he gets back to camp and people are more upset at others more so than him. I think the three ladies are the most in control. I don’t think anyone is going to be targeting Maryanne and Lindsay as their priority, and Drea has enough ammunition to survive if she’s targeted. I do think we may see one of the bigger strategists of the season go, and it could be a huge shocker like Omar, but I do think Hai makes sense since his trajectory has been going slightly downward and he is likely going to get heat for the Rocksroy move AND he has the amulet which Lindsay and Drea may wanna try and steal.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Hai Giang

Survivor S42 Power Rankings (Top 10) May 4, 2022
imageWe have two eliminations coming up, so it’ll be interesting to see how the dynamics of these two mini tribes shake out. Let’s rank, keeping in mind that with 2 immunities and so many idols/advantages out there, there’s a good chance I’ll be WAY off.

10. Tori Meehan- Of all the remaining contestants, Tori seems the most prone to be eliminated. She has no allies, and her edit hasn’t been in as much of a boost as Romeo’s has. I also think her recent immunity tear will indicate to others that she is some sort of threat worth taking out this early.

9. Hai Giang- Hai has been on a slow decline since the merge, losing Lydia then not getting his way with the Romeo vs. Chanelle vote. Hai is losing more and more control, and I think he’s the one becoming more paranoid despite him saying that Romeo is the paranoid one. With this tribal being the point of the game where we lost both Evvie and Naseer (two huge presences in the game), I think we’re bound to lose someone big to a bigger blindside this time, and Hai seems to fit that bill. I may be wrong, but that’s where my mind is at.

8. Romeo Escobar- Romeo is surely on the bottom, but I also think being as keen of a player as Romeo, he’s going to be able to finagle his way out of any rough spot. Is he safe? By no means. But I think he’ll do what it takes to make it one more day.

7. Maryanne Oketch- Maryanne was high on this list with her idol, but since Drea has the knowledge is power, I think this complicates things. Mike is in Drea’s alliance, Maryanne is not, so if Drea is going to steal from anyone, it’ll be her. It would be really sad to see Maryanne go that way, and I still think there’s a way she can get through this next tribal even if her idol is stolen, but she’s certainly vulnerable more so than ever.

6. Jonathan Young- Jonathan doesn’t seem to be a target anymore for his strength, but with the tribes being split into two tribes of 5, I do think there’s a tad less wiggle room for Jonathan. He’s gonna have a tough time hiding, and if he’s not on a tribe with a lot of his Taku tribe or Mike, maybe they will take the shot at him. I think he’s safe because I also think he has a good shot at winning immunity, but he’s in the bottom half for those reasons I mentioned.

5. Lindsay Dolashewich- I think Lindsay is in the perfect position. She’s quiet enough to not be a target, but she’s still in the “know” when it comes to alliances and plans. The only thing that worries me is her amulet, but even then, I think people would take a shot at Hai before her if it comes down to trying to eliminate the amulet.

4. Rocksroy Bailey- Rocksroy is in this bigger alliance thanks to Drea, and he also doesn’t seem to pose much of a threat. I just don’t see how he ends up being the boot unless he ends up on a tribe against all the outsiders (Tori, Maryanne, Romeo) and even then, I don’t know why Rocksroy would be anyone’s top priority to go home.

3. Omar Zaheer- Omar is really shaping up to be THE key player of the season, which means he’ll likely either lose in fire making or win in a fairly obvious way. That’s why he’s so high on this list. I just don’t see a way he goes home.

2. Mike Turner- The only reason Mike is higher than Omar is because Mike has an idol. But these top seem pretty damn secure now…at least for the time being.

1. Drea Wheeler- Drea now has a knowledge is power advantage. This girl just keeps raking in the advantages. I think she’s really well positioned, and should she be targeted, she’ll have her idol, an extra vote, and someone else’s idol/advantage as ammo.

I think the target pool is pretty slim. Romeo, Tori, and Maryanne seem on the bottom, with Hai being the potential blindside pick. Anyone else, I just don’t see the urgency to get rid of them unless we’re in for some surprises (or if 5 of the same alliance end up on a tribe together). I”m going to go with one safe pick and one more high—I mean Hai—risk one.

PREDICTIONS:
