Over the last 10 days I've been asking Tengaged whether or not they feel a daily rewards system would entice them to continuously return to the website. Over 100 of you responded, and I have the results!
Agree to some extent: 82.2%
Disagree to some extent: 7.9%
Neither Agree nor Disagree: 9.9%
Is there something to be learned from the many other websites who implement daily rewards programs? Frankly, yes. With well over 80% of users stating that a daily rewards system would entice them to keep logging on and checking Tengaged every day, it seems like a no-brainer. But are there better ways to reward users than simply logging on, collecting their reward and then logging back off? Peace123 believes so.
In Peace's own words, "I would just log in for whatever reward it is and then log out unless i plan to do something like blog or play a game. I think a better option would be daily goals instead of rewards, like "Make a blog" earns you 1T, "Enroll in a game" earns you 1T, etc. It would make the site more lively (or at least feel more lively) as there are actually hundreds of "active" users on tengaged who play group games/lower levels that don't enroll in games or post on the blogs page that makes the site feel very dead."
A goal-based system would certainly encourage more users to put in the effort to remaining active on Tengaged. The types of goals could fluctuate daily to allow more unique opportunities for users to meet their daily quotas. Why not implement bigger weekly goals that allow bigger karma/T$ rewards? Perhaps the weekly goal for one week could be to obtain a set amount of karma from games. If you met the goal, you could expect to receive a bonus.
But let's pretend for a second that we did have a "reward wheel" for logging in (as featured on sites like the notorious "Z that shall not be named"). How does randomize profit from a system that continuously outputs more money into the Tengaged economy? Well, there are a few ways.
First off, many sites enjoy having a "buffed-up" wheel that users can spin again, with bigger rewards and better opportunities to earn more money. A daily rewards wheel would likely include smaller T amounts, since it's free to play and can be spinned every 24 hours. So after that, why not offer a bigger and better wheel, where users have the chance to earn 100T's? Maybe they can even earn discounts for items purchased through shops? Or even a chance to give away a free design? Who knows what kind of rewards could be included!
In addition, unkown brought up a very simplistic way for randomize to get his share of wealth. In his own words, "Make us watch a dumb 30 second ad a day and give us 5-10 ts. Randomize would get an extra income and we get a little extra ts".
Yes, nobody's wild about watching a bunch of advertisements. But if users get a small little bonus from spending 30 seconds of their day watching an ad, then that gives both sides the opportunity to make a little extra dough.
Nevertheless, I pass the question off to you guys. If we were to include a daily rewards system, how should it be formatted? What should the rewards be? And how does randomize get his fair share out from it? Let me know in the comments below! :)
As always, thank you guys for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you next time on #10DaysOfTengaged.
*NOTE* Also, I posted an update for the group earlier today. I'm asking for your help to take this group to the next level. If you're interested, read below. Thanks!
