austino15fffan - Dune (2021) - I'm surprised there hasn't been more Denis Villeneuve movies submitted aside from this and Arrival. He is an exceptionally talented filmmaker and my god the visuals are fucking everything. This movie looks gorgeous as fuck. Its quite a spectacle. I'm not entirely familiar with the source material but I know David Lynch's 84 movie which...yeah. i think this is alot better in execution. It's much more digestible and while possibly a little difficult to understand at first it makes alot of sense overall and my god the worldbuilding is awesome. Rewatching this, it has a great pace. For a 2 and a half hour movie I honestly wasn't bored watching it. And the score is beautiful. One of my favourite movies of 2021 and im so excited that its getting a part 2 as its literally just half of a story. Yas
Symmetry888 - Millennium Actress (2001) - That movie was a trip. I absolutely love the way Satoshi Kon blends reality together. Hes done it extremely well in all movies i've seen and in such a different take than the ones i've seen. I loved the journey and the aspiration the main character has. Im trying to give my thoughts on it without spoiling it cause its honestly a great movie and I totally think you should check it out! It definitely is a movie going through time like you said and its interwoven very well with Chiyoko's story and career. Thats all I'll say about it but I loved the movie! I also find it very appropriate to submit a Satoshi Kon film on a theme that was inspired by someone who won their season using a Satoshi Kon film that they had not seen so yeah bonus iconic!
