So I'm going with one of my guilty pleasure films. It's such a fun and entertaining film to watch and Robin Williams is just amazing in it.

Dodsworth (1936) Dir. William Wyler

I briefly weighed my options, but ultimately I couldn’t not pick Dodsworth to be my final pick. It just checks all the boxes for me. It’s my favorite classic Hollywood movie of all time (a genre that’s been sorely underrepresented in this game.) It features great performances from Walter Huston, Mary Astor, and especially Ruth Chatterton giving one of my favorite performances of all time as Fran Dodsworth. I feel like I’ve submitted unique and under-seen films throughout my time here, and I doubt you or many others have seen it. It has great black and white cinematography. It’s surprisingly modern in its plot and themes for a film from the 1930s. It’s a great commentary on the limits of marriage and romantic love, the fundamental differences between Americans and Europeans and how they have a hard time truly connecting, and women’s limited place in society. Plus, it stars Walter Huston, the grandfather of Anjelica Huston who starred in my first pick (The Grifters) so it’s the perfect thematic conclusion to my time here. I hope you enjoy my magnum opus!

The Godfather (1972)

weirdly enough, the only reason I watched this is because of Scream 2 where they talk about sequels outranking the original and I dont COMPLETELY agree because I personally feel The Godfather > The Godfather II
