WINNER #11 - KARISE EDEN (THE VOICE AUSTRALIA)

I normally don't follow talent shows because I usually lose complete and utter interest after my favourites leave, or even just in general I watch the auditions. Most of the people who make it through either sing the exact same way (any idol show), just look good (X Factor) or both.

Then came along The Voice.

Then came along Karise Eden.

This is, without a doubt, the best singing voice I've ever heard on a talent show in my life. When I heard Karise sing it was like Janis Joplin had come back to life, and I am a huge huge huge huge fan of Ms Joplin. When I hear her sing every doubt that I had about this show was swept away. When Karise Eden sung, I fall in love, because it's one of the best singing voices I've ever heard in my life. I only included talent show winners to pad out this list, but Karise is the only exception because she's just that good.

She of course had the sob-story that every talent competitor had, the tragic life and the depression and whatnot, but I really didn't care about that. The moment Karise had her first audition and blew it away, I was totally invested in seeing her win. The other competitiors might have had some talent as well and the other competitors might have had similar stories, but the only thing I watched The Voice for last year was to see Karise Eden win. Because she was talented like nobody I'd ever seen before and she deserved it.

Of course, she blew away all competition in the coming weeks, producing great song after great song. Normally, in a reality show sense, I'm not a fan of overdogs who face no competition, but Karise was that good. Without a doubt in my mind she needed to win this show. And of course, she did win, and everything was right in the jungle because the person with the most raw talent and the best voice won the season.

There were some other competitors I took a fleeting interest in, like Rachael Leahcar, the blind chick who blew everyone away by singing La Vie En Rose (or whatever it's called) in her audition, but Karise was far and away the only one I would have accepted as a winner of the season.

Unfortunately, competitive reality television > talent shows, so this is as far as she would go. The best possible placing outside of the Top 10 for one of the most raw talents I've seen in my life, like I've said a billion times before in this ranking, is a major accomplishment, though.

Inky, Karise Eden actually used to be my nextdoor neighbour, we moved though when the show was airing. I honestly only have nothing but bad things to say about her though. She is a rude, uneducated, selfish bitch. I wont deny she has some good singing talent though. But honestly she is an awful person
