So I had a friend urging me to get into RuPaul's Drag Race at one point, and after a while I relented. I tried getting through episodes of the first three seasons, but they, much like a few of the Australian series I've tried to watch now and again, didn't feel like something I could actually get through if I wasn't going to be happy with what I saw. I got through like...2 episodes of Season 1 and an episode a piece of Seasons 2 and 3. But 4 managed to catch my interest (although 5 has failed to), and I'll probably be watching 6 when it comes out, so consider me...kinda hooked I guess. I'm not usually a fan of talent shows like this/Project Runway/ANTM, so it takes a good season to hold my interest.
Sharon had the benefit of both being a funny bitch amongst a group of horrible bitches like Phi Phi O'Hara, who is one of the most unbearable c-words I've ever come across in reality television, and being a truly enjoyable person, probably only just ahead of Latrice Royale (< 33333333) and Willam (< 3333333). She wasn't exactly the nicest of the season (that'd either be Dida Ritz or Latrice), but she was confident in her skills and knew her strengths. She would touch an area that not many other queens would touch in that season, and that was daring to try and be both scary and beautiful. And I'd say she succeeded in that, because her looks were to die for. She blew away the competition in the first challenge (which was admittedly catered to her strength), and pulled off great looks just because she had the guts to go where other people wouldn't. She thought outside the box for the most part, I found.
I really do love Sharon, but there's something I can't put my finger on that's preventing me from placing her further up the list. It might be just because talent shows aren't really my thing and I can't cheer for her as much as I did most of the Top 10. I just found that I liked her win more than Tina's, and less than Danni's.
