Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase (2019)ย coolKat - You know at first I was kinda bummed that you didn't submit the LEGENDARY Emma Roberts' Nancy Drew but this one was pretty good too actually. We started off with a BANG with that opening track that made me fucking CACKLE and I realised what I was REALLY in for. Mama this was a Disney channel original movie. And I was here for it. I'm kinda obsessed with every character (and their bad acting) and I was lowkey gagged at the big #reveal. My only drawback was that for a mystery it seemed like...really easy for some reason? Like my dumbass would prolly be able to solve this. Then again this IS a kids movie so I assume they had to tone it down a bit LOL.
D.E.B.S. (2004) turkeylover - Now everybody knows that I HATE romance movies.... BUT I NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT WLW ROMANCE MOVIES PURRRR!!!! I just have such a soft spot for lesbian romance films because they're always so wholesome and they get me feeling all warm and fuzzy!!! Not to mention this movie has a wild ass premise??? Action mixed with gay romance.... baby I was HOOKED! The whole main cast absolutely SLAYS and I must admit this was probably the first time I haven't been bored at some point in a romance movie!!! Amazing job yassss!!!
Audition (1999) pennytrationstan - bitch... this was WILD. Like holy SHITE I have no words!!! I mean what can I say.... Asami girlboss.... what who said that??? No cause this movie is great. The first like...hour comes off as a romance film but it just feels so jarring...like you can just feel that something isn't right. And then bam the absolute chaos of the last 30 minutes are WILD as HELL and those SCENES....girl I was covering my mouth!!! My only negative critique is that the son is a DUMBASS and I hate him. For a two hour movie this really didn't feel two hours long and that's a great thing imo.
Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II (1987) Thirteen - omg no way I love cheesy 80s slasher flicks.... especially really bad and campy ones like this! Like this movie was wild as hell. And I loved it! The kills are dumb...the premise is dumb...the acting is bad.... all the makings of a perfect slasher movie! Mary Lou is such a girlboss. An inspiration really. And let me tell you I didn't expect to be FLASHED in the middle of the movie so sure (needed that one guy to get naked too I fear) but yeah anyways great movie!!! The effects are surprisingly gross for a 80s movie and I loved that too! The ending is funny as hell but also really good LOL.
Jennifer's Body (2009) Symmetry888 - No way for some reason you keep sending movies I have on DVD lmao. When I first saw this movie in like 2015 I was OBSESSED! I can't believe it flopped. And imagine my surprise when I rewatched it on a totally legal website tonight and realised there was an UNCUT version??? There were scenes I'd never seen before and I was gagged!! Anyway, about the actual movie now, its great duh! A classic, really! It's really hard to do horror and comedy right and I really think this movie nails it! Very good!
Harry Potter and the Sorcererโs Stone (2001) NanoNerd - A fun fact about me is that growing up I had never seen any of the Harry Potter movies but then during the summer of 2017 I told myself I had to get into the loop and binge watched every single one of the movies in like a week. I surprisingly remember all the movies in great detail except this one. So basically on rewatch it was like I was watching it for the first time all over again! This movie was pretty fun actually, especially the world building and so on and so forth. It's quite a long movie but honestly it doesn't feel as long as it is. I will say because I don't have the nostalgia factor in play here there were some points where I was a bit bored but overall this was a very solid movie! I can see how it sparked an entire franchise and an enormous fanbase!
Orphan (2009) NewNightmare7 - Oh I have this movie on DVD lol but I hadn't seen it in YEARS...maybe like 5 years? I'm glad it's been gaining more recognition on social media cause honestly upon rewatch...this is GREAT! I mean, I liked the movie as a teen but as an adult I LOVE it! Like...the premise is batshit insane and Isabelle Furman and Vera Farmiga just make it all so fun and real! Like it's genuinely creepy and had me on the edge of my seat for several scenes. What a great movie! I need to get down to watching the new movie actually!
