The sun rose on three tribes who seemed to be evenly matched, from a numbers point of view. At 7 members each, the game was back to square one. The Green tribe was on an emotional high after coming 1st place in two back to back immunity wins. Blue and Purple however, appeared to be struggling. After a crazy tribal where votes were all over the place, would the Blue tribe pull themselves together and work as a team at the upcoming challenge? Can Purple sneak out another 2nd place, or even a 1st place win to secure their spots in the game? After a small breakfast and an even smaller lunch, the tribes headed off to compete in their 4th challenge.
Immunity Challenge:
At challenge beach, the tribes filed in 1 at a time. When the Blue tribe came in, there was still no surprise as the other groups noticed that #raemchorus had been voted out. After a brief description of today's challenge, the tribes lined up at the starting line. Suddenly the challenge began and once again, the strong communication between the members of the Green tribe sent them into an early lead. And almost exactly like the previous challenge, Purple and Blue seemed to take turns passing one another. Making quick work of the challenge, the Green tribe finished in lightning speed giving them a 3rd, 1st place finish in a row. Not much celebrating occurred as winning 1st seemed to be coming so easily to them now.
With nothing but 2nd place to compete for, Purple and Blue were in a battle of the centuries. Whoever lost this challenge, would lose a member and be down in numbers. The finish line approached and the tribes were neck and neck. Could the Purple tribe sneak out another 2nd place victory and send Blue to 2 consecutive tribal councils? The Green tribe looked ahead, and as the players rounded the bend, it was the Blue tribe that was in the lead! Mere steps behind them the Purple tribe was competing with all their might! But as the last member of the Blue tribe crossed the finish line, it was too late for the Purple tribe. They would be heading to tribal council tonight.
Back at Purple camp, tensions were high and nobody wasted an opportunity to sneak away with their closest allies. As groups of 2, and groups of 3 snuck off into the ocean or the woods, 1 contestant stayed behind in hopes of finding what she knew was somewhere on their beach. First she checked by their treemail...nothing. Then next to their watering hole...nothing. As she took a break to think, she rested against the tribe flag. Before long, the flag came unstuck from the sand, and both the flag and the contestant fell to the ground. To her surprise, the top of the flag pole came bouncing off and underneath...the hidden immunity idol! Luckily for #Chloeox, she just found the one thing that could keep her safe tonight, if she felt threatened enough to play it!
Tribal Council:
Carrying their torches into tribal, the group got fire, sat down, and spent the next 4 hours discussing what happened at the challenge and what happened when they got back to their beach. Nobody seemed to even question the idea that an idol could have been found. Was that a good sign for #Chloeox? It was time to find out. 1 by 1 the tribe entered the voting box and cast their votes. Before the votes were read, the question that seemed to be on nobody's mind was asked, "If anyone has a hidden immunity idol, now would be the time to play it." Shock came across everyone's face. Nobody had even thought to look for one. #Chloeox kept it for herself and kept it a secret from the group. 1 by 1 the votes were read and by a vote of 4-3, jacco was sent home.
Was this the beginnings of a powerful alliance of 4 within the Purple tribe. Stay tuned!
