As a reminder kevrev4 has IMMUNITY for this round which was the last round for individual immunity. We expect all of you to bring your A game for the remainder of the competition  and not rely on immunity for weak song choices.

Let's get to your feedback and scores.

Mine, Blu's VanitySmurf Feedback will be first.

Carolinasteele -that’s just life-Kirsten you snapped back like a waistline with this one. Lol. It was an excellent song choice in contrast with your description, everything was executed perfectly.  The lyrics were deep. The message was strongly conveyed. I loved the beat and track to this. I love the simplicity of production.  Well done.  Use my voice- I thought this was an interesting song choice, she has a unique voice that one will either hate or love. I don’t mind live vocals as much if they can deliver, and she did. I felt her passion & strength in this performance, very empowering.  10/0 & 8/10

Becksta20 - Scar- now I really enjoyed this. It was catchy, smooth vocals, it has a nice rhythm, and the song makes you groove however, I’m not sure at least for me if it was submission related, it seemed more like hurt? I hate to score it low bc I enjoyed it, but I think it missed that mark for me.  All we all we are- Now pink is everything rebellion.  This song was right on the money for me. She’s a dynamic singer & artist and her songs just make you want to go out and smash some things, it’s the hard rock vibe for me lol. I enjoyed the buildup in this also, it takes you to another level.  5/10( wasn’t convinced it was submissive)  &  8.5/10

Smi9127 - I think im in love- I've never heard of this song or this artist but I was intrigued by the delivery. This was a great submissive song and like you wrote about not outright saying she loves him, I love the subliminal messages in this song the most. It was seductive, captivating, and pleasant to listen to.  Just a girl- not a big fan of Gwen’s airy voice at all, however, I did get rebellious vibes from this of her proving to the world that she’s so much more than a pretty face. I think it helped people respect her as an artist & she is a great song writer. 8.5/10  & 7/10

kevrev4 - good for you- interesting submission coming from you lol. I don’t know, this song left me a bit numb. I was perplexed to say the least. I could barely understand what she was saying in the song, also  this is a pretty dull song that aims for sultry sensuality but only rarely achieves it. It would help if they had a hook. I did get submissive bc she wants to look good for her man not herself so that aspect fit the description. Everything for me, worked against her voice in this song and the chorus was a letdown, not catchy at all.  Break the rules- This was a cool kindof cliché type of rebellious song.  I love the bassline, I love the drop, I love the pre-chorus before the drop, and I especially love the sassy bratty punkish rebellious vibe I got from this. It’s a totally obnoxious song but in a good way.  3.5/10 & 9/10

hayden9102 - Dyin in LA- Panic is so great, and always such creative songs. This was an interesting, yet great take on submissive. I think it was conveyed greatly, and such a relatable, realistic song because some goals we won’t achieve and have to come with that realization. It’s a tough pill to swallow sometimes but we have to keep on pushing through. I appreciated his interpretation of the lyrics and the vocals were great as per usual. Threw it on the ground- Now sir, lol! This song was more comical than anything but I actually got rebellious vibes and his rap scheme was reminiscent of Eminem who I love, and even sound similar. This is like a menace to society type of song, it was humorous, it was intelligently written taking a stance on society or some fun criticism on obtuse immature individuals and their childish acts of rebellion against everybody just to prove they're special or worthy of attention from others. Also the gripping sounds were great. I enjoyed it and LMAO.  8/10 & 7/10

StraightLoonie -Creep- This song kicks major ass. The way it revs up to the chorus and the chorus itself, it just delivers. It’s an iconic song. The song is very whiny but it works for the submission part of this, because he is really looking like an idiot trying to impress her. The music is a little plain but the lyrics are the most powerful in this song. I like grunge-inspired contemporaries like this. I also like how low key the soft vocal deliveries can be at times. Solid song choice from you.  We’re not gonna take it- Yes this song is rebellious; however compared to some of the other songs submitted, it’s not memorable to me. Although it does get a little repetitive, I like that it’s a war cry against an evil empire. May have been more rebellious in the 80’s but it didn’t have much of an impact on me, and seemed a little fluffy. The guitars were nice for the backing vocals. 8/10 & 6.5/10

boysofsummer2005 -I’ll Find You-Great song choice, two dynamic artist both lyrically and vocally, strong message, impactful, catchy hook, and powerfully submissive. I’m convinced. Jesus Freak-I’ve never heard this song before as I don’t listen to much Christian rock, but I thought it was a very nice song. It was a great statement on faith. I also think that during that time of release it was needed for the Christian Market which I could tell it was a 90’s song. This is a great band. I love the sound and the dramatics. The guitar thrashing out of that bridge had me shook. They lyrics & production was fantastic. I looked up the Billboard list for this song and apparently went double platinum? Ridiculous and almost unheard of for Christian music.  9/10 & 9/10

Abstractjay -The Wolf -I thought this was really great especially the animated video production. I think I fully appreciated it because of the animation. Usually addiction songs like this about alcohol or nicotine would not spark my interest because they all sound the same theoretically, however;  it had a very clear ending that running doesn’t save you. I thought that was powerful knowing that you have to turn around and fight it eventually.  And I do always enjoy your out of the box submissions (could be the one to beat in this game). Run boy run-Another interesting song choice. I thought it has a great rousing, pounding background beat. I like how the song goes from dark to light emotionally, and lyrically, and visually throughout. It has a great hook. I think remember hearing this in a movie but can’t think of the name right now. It’s very catchy.  The drum line that plays in between verses and sometimes acts as a chorus all its own, makes you want to run. You feel that strange panic of rebellion and no turning back. It’s takes on a different form of motivation too which I thoroughly enjoyed.  7.5/10 & 9/10

konohavillage1 - What’s your pleasure- This  started out doing the absolute most for me, that 30 second intro of POSE I could have done without. Now once it got into the actual song  I thought it as far as submission, it was warm, seducing, lustful, sensual and a smooth record in parts but it still left a stale taste like an old potato chip in my mouth. The lyrics to me were a bit hollow though for a pop song, didn’t scream masterpiece to me. I did also think that the arrangement of production for this was weak. She’s a skilled vocalist with a unique sound but it just left no impact on me. I know where I’ve been- Welcome back Kono lol! This is a staple song and one of my favorites from hairspray. Queen was a showstopper in this performance. This is a very moving song that will lift the spirit from the lowest, darkest place to the highest height and brightest spot. It’s powerful, it’s deep,  and it’s very culturally appropriate for unification. Most importantly it’s taken action and a stance on discrimination in all forms.  4.5/10 & 9.5/10

Noelle's Heavenlee Feedback.

CarolinaSteele (14)
Memphis May Fire (That's Just Life) 7.5/10
     - I think this is a pretty solid song. The lyrics are good and the music is very fitting. Although I was hoping for it to pick up and that moment never came.

Evanescence (Use My Voice) 6.5/10
     - Good message, decent instrumentals, but even though the message was good I don't think the lyrics as a whole were strong & they became really repetitive. Vocals came through.
---
Becksta20 (15)
Missy Higgins (Scar) 7/10
     - I kinda liked her voice a lot for some reason, but at the same time I was having such a bad time trying to process half of the lyrics, but I liked what I could make out. I liked how almost...bouncy the song was? I have no idea how to describe it. It was light and fresh even though it was a heavier meaning and I liked that balance. It was a little much with both the piano and the guitar though, I wish she would have picked one to come through more. & like I said before, it was hard for me to process some of the song.

P!nk (All We Are We Are) 8/10
     - Okay. Aside from the like faint screaming in the background, great production. Great lyrics. I mean...All we are we are is questionable but still. However...Pink was not the artist for this song. This is so clearly meant for KESHA! Pink's voice doesn't mesh all that well with it in my opinion.
---
smi9127 (16.5)
Kat Dahlia (I Think I'm in Love) 10/10
     - AMAZING. Production. Lyrics. Vocals. MY ONLY COMPLAINT....You're the DUTCH? Has girlie never heard the word Duke? it drives me nuts because I've been listening to this song on repeat! I love how like kinda raspy her voice is in some parts? It's refreshing that her voice is not the same as everyone else's. & idk, like who doesn't want to love somebody like that...and when she goes "I hope you catch me when I laa-aa-aa-and"..PERFECTION.

No Doubt (Just a Girl) 6.5/10
     - I did not like the vocal delivery much. The lyrics were great though and idk what it was about the chorus but I actually really liked the production there. I really think older music is annoying but they kinda pulled that off. I mean, outside of the chorus...tea.
---
kevrev4 (15)
Selena Gomez (Good For You) 10/10
     - YES. YES. YES...THE GOOD VERSION TOO (JUST HER). This song is so simple & beautiful for what it needs to be, like kinda bedroom submissive she wants to look good and period we stan that like yes queen. This song was an awakening when it came out. I might be a bitch but...

Charli XCX (Break the Rules) 5/10
     - It took her a long time to get the music to match the vibe of the lyrics and even when she did, idk...it was still off. I thought the lyrics were weak and kinda just the song overall. I think, idk if her voice is naturally like that...or if she strains it to try to have a really unique sound, but there's probably very few types of songs that she could pull off really well. I do think a rebellious type song is one of them but this just wasn't it tbh.
---
hayden9102 (11.5)
Panic! at the Disco (Dying in LA) 8.5/10
     - Great production, lyrics, & vocals. Other than the weirdly high "dyings". It is a beautiful & in the feels song!

JAKE PERALTA...threw it on the ground. 3/10
     - oh i get it, i do...but noooooo bestie why LOL
---
StraightLoonie (13)
Radiohead (Creep) 7
    - SCREAMS...because LYRICALLY...I think Creep is an amazing song. Like honestly so great, one of my favorites - probably just because of it's connection to the show YOU, but whatever. I did a whole round of covers of Creep in my second season of my music game. But, I did that because I like covers of it, & not the original :( it's the vocals it really is. They're so quiet & the delivery is weird, there's no emotion for most of it. I guess like it's kinda creep-y lol so it kinda works in that sense but idk. Also, production wise, idk about the original either. I think a lot of covers usually do a better job too. The instruments are so LOUD...it pains me to not give it a better score but idk I just can't.

Twisted Sister (We're Not Gonna Take It) 6
     - Lyrically, yes, it's a great rebellion song. That's all I'll say.
---
boysofsummer2005 (14)
Lecrae & Tori Kelly (I'll Find You) 8.5
     - I really like Tori's voice, the song has great production, the lyrics are all great and some of them were really hard hitting & significant.

DC Talk (Jesus Freak) 5.5/10
     - Another song I had to run to look up lyrics LMFAO pls I couldn't process them. Interesting choice. I'm not sure I'd agree that it's a slur, but I get your point. I believe I've heard of the term Christian Rock before but I've never heard a song in the genre. Very interesting all around. Other than the repetitive parts, which were pretty good, I found the lyrics very odd.
---
abstractjay (15)
Siamés (The Wolf) 7.5
    - Very interesting production! I wanted more from the lyrics. They're nice, but not anything special, and the artist's voice was very average and gave an average performance.

Woodkid (Run Boy Run) 7.5
     - Okay...kinda SCOTLAND by The Lumineers vibes. AND I LOVE THAT. (AKA the theme song for REIGN). Not as strong lyrically as I would like when there are lyrics though.
---
konohavillage1 (15)
Jessie Ware (What's Your Pleasure?) 6.5
     - Cute production. Some cute lyrics but otherwise they were kinda weak.

Queen Latifah (I Know Where I've Been) 8.5
     - I was wondering if someone was going to post a song about rights! Period. Lyrics, vocals - delivered. & yessss I loved that there were some moments with group vocals.

When I think of Impactful, I think of powerful, strong and influential. This song has gotten me through many hardships and struggles I've experienced throughout the years. There wouldn't be a song I would rather send than this one. Good luck you three!

Definitely a slur, especially in the 60’s and 70’s in America

Description: This song is super impactful for me. Basically during the beginning of the pandemic, my usually cheerful mentality took a hit. I guess such a sudden change really affected me and the gloominess of a virus really brought down my mood. This in turn caused my grades to slip. The semester before last, I was set to graduate with my math degree. However, I didn’t pass and I wasn’t able to graduate at that time. I was disappointed in myself and felt like I disappointed my family. Despite all of these obstacles, this song reminded me that I have to finish through. I couldn’t rely on anybody else to get me out of the slump and that it was all on me to fix this. I understand having a good support system in my family and friends was huge for helping me through it, however it ultimately came down to me to decide my future. Now I can say that I am officially graduated and am so excited to see myself succeed.

It’s not always easy to forgive people that have hurt you in the past. However, learning to let go of the burden of pain, resentment, sadness, and anger towards someone can help you create a better future. This song is about coming through that hurt and sadness and wishing the same for the person who caused it.

IM THINKING
Sent by konohavillage1,Jun 21, 2021

First off, this has made me realize that a lot of my music has long intros lmaooooo. Makes it really hard to find something that won’t bore you immediately.

My God what a beautiful song this is. Lauryn laments about her surroundings and how she’s had to build herself up in strength to make it. Discovering this song and album had major impact on my life, and I encourage everyone to listen to this album if they haven’t before.

Again, I know I’m a bit all over the place with my choices, but I have made up my mind and I’m defining my destiny with bold choices. And I hope I can continue.
