Hell's Kitchen S18 Power Rankings (Top 13)

Nov 6, 2018 by PowerRankings101
imageWow, I’m disappointed. I’ll admit, Kevin definitely took a step back from his last season, but I do not think he was the worst one there. His passion may not have been as strong, but it seemed like he still had passion. I’m just disappointed that Chris and Scotley both escaped elimination. I will admit, I think the swap helped people like Roe and Ariel who were hiding in the background, and even more so Trev, who had his strongest week yet.

13. Chris Mendonca- Chris has made me cringe every single week. He gave lots of promise early on, and has dropped the ball since. It just seems like the rest of his team doesn’t have any desire to include him on much of the decision making or…well…cooking. He needs some recovery quick…but that seems like a stretch of a favor.

12. Scotley Innis- Scotley wasn’t the worst of the night (ahem, Chris, ahem), but he stuck out as a major problem in the cohesion of the team. I think Scotley is a genuinely nice guy, but not a very open guy when it comes to communication in the kitchen.

11. Trev McGrath- Like I said in the intro, Trev had his best week since his last season. I think he definitely improved and found his mojo with the boys. I think he’s still vulnerable as hell, but I think he’s got potential to do better than expected, especially with people like Chris and Scotley on his side.

10. Bret Hauser- Bret’s sauce should not have put him in nomination consideration. But his team still wanted to nominate him badly. Bret should take this as a clue that his team doesn’t really like him, and he needs to calm down a bit. I love Bret, but I definitely think he’s skating on pretty thin ice.

9. Mia Castro- Mia was the only one on the blue team that truly crashed and burned. I was quite surprised considering how great she is in challenges. I really hope she recovers, because she is one of my favorites. But right now, she may be the most vulnerable one on the blue team.

8. Ariel Fox- Ariel is finding her voice a bit more on her new team. I think she got in T’s way a bit, but it seems like she listened well, gave her space, and cooked on. She’s fine.

7. Roe DiLeo- Roe can’t seem to click in the challenges, but in the services, she’s been nothing but consistent. While she isn’t the most vocal, most entertaining, or most talented, she’s far from the worst.

6. Heather Williams- Heather has been fine in this competition thus far, but the preview shows her clashing heads with T…maybe…These previews have proven to be untrustworthy more times than not.

5. T Gregoire- T has stepped up as the leader of her team, but so did Kevin, and it led to him failing miserably (?) and getting eliminated. I think T is really self-aware, but I do think she may be a bit cockier than she was her first time around. She is shown to be butting heads with Heather next week, which could lead to some trouble. I hope everything turns out to be okay, but I do think T needs to remember that Veterans are vulnerable too. Kevin should be a wake up call for her.

4. Gizzy Barton- Gizzy got the kick from Ramsay that she needed. She’s getting SUCH good content, and I think Ramsay sees her a chef with tons of potential. I see the potential too. If she continues to be quiet and distant for a few more services, she’s toast. But if she takes Ramsay’s note, and goes with that flow, she’ll be the bread and butter.

3. Kanae Houston- Kanae is getting the top spot for the women. First off, the women as a whole are incredibly strong. Second, Kanae is killing it in challenges. Third, she’s killing it in confessionals. Hilarious. FOURTH, she hasn’t messed up in service yet. Yup, Kanae is great.

2. Jose DeJesus- Jose got lots of good character material, talking about his daughter. I thought it may have been a way to give Kevin more screen time, but it also made Jose look incredibly positive. Like, SUPER positive. Definitely someone the show wants us to root for, and honestly, I could root for him too.

1. “Motto” Chris Motto- Chris’ crush on Motto is a bit odd, but Motto has lots to admire. He’s consistent with his challenge performance, and he’s very vocal in the dinner services. I think Chef sees this, and will recognize this potential. Of everyone on the red team, he seems the most likely to step up as the leader. He’s got the top spot this week.

I think the Rookies are totally upstaging the Vets. My top four are ALL rookies. And my number 3-9 are all the girls! I think the women are set to take this competition by storm, and if the previews are faking us out with the Heather vs. T battle, then I think we lose one of our men, and it’ll probably be either Scotley or Chris.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Chris Mendonca
