Survivor S37 Power Rankings (Top 15)

imagePoor Bi, never really got a chance to get comfortable out there. I was a bit confused as to why her quit was such a tiny, tiny little segment of the episode, but I’m glad we got more content from these newly mixed tribes. Carl went from the bottom to a power player, Christian and John were able to finally meet and create a bond, and Natalie continued her bossiness. But it was Natalia that got the blindside when Alec decided to flip with the Davids. An entertaining move, but a deeply confusing one. Knowing Carl was coming onto the tribe, he had to know the Goliaths would be outnumbered, and if Kara goes, who’s next? Alec probably should’ve just kept the numbers and tried to get Natalia out at a later date. We’ll see how this move plays out, but I can’t imagine it doing Alec much good beyond an episode or two. Also, I’m going to use tribe color names because those are easier to distinct than the names themselves.

15. Lyrsa Torres- Lyrsa ended up on a tribe with three Goliaths and Nick. Nick is obvious a flip-flopper. I can’t imagine Lyrsa is in any sort of advantage if the Purple tribe loses. In fact, she’s probably in the biggest disadvantage.

14. Natalie Cole- Natalie had such a good chance to reevaluate her game. She was on a tribe with Mike, who she already had a tiny bond with. She was also on a tribe with Angelina, who kept her safe in the tribal prior. ALL she had to do was keep her mouth shut. But Napalm Nat seems to be a hurricane that can’t be stopped. If it weren’t for the Goliaths having a number advantage, I’d say she was toast, but she’s not far from it.

13. Kara Kay- Kara perhaps got the best hand in the tribe swap, ending up on a tribe with two allies, Alec and Natalia. But Alec somewhat ruined that, which has now put Kara on the bottom of her tribe. How did someone so in control of her own game become the one on the outs? Crazy how things happen in a tribe swap. I expect her tribe to win immunity, but if they lose, she’s sadly the next target.

12. Alec Merlino- What a dumb move. Sure, Natalia was a bit annoying, but now you have to explain to Kara why you flipped on the Goliaths. And if you make it to the merge, you have to tell the REST of the Goliaths that you flipped. Plus, Carl is coming in on his tribe. He’ll obviously team up with Davie and Elizabeth. So now, Alec is at the bottom of the Davids and the Goliaths. Absolute foolery. He’s lucky he’s good in challenges, which could be his only saving grace. Good tv, terrible gameplay.

11. Alison Raybould- Alison lucked out by being placed on a tribe with Christian, John, and Dan. And Gabby even showed she’s good in challenges this week. This tribe should be going absolutely nowhere, but if they lose, it’ll probably be her going home.

10. Elizabeth Olsen- Elizabeth could’ve been an easy boot, but things seemed to go her way. She also made a subtle bond with Kara, which may end up going a long way in this game.

9. Nick Wilson- Nick has a great social game and has bonded with literally everyone. But that’s bound to eventually catch up to him right? He can’t just skate by making cool alliance names, right? Either way, he’s got something going with Mike, so if (and when) his tribe loses, people will target Lyrsa over him nine times out of ten.

8. Mike White- Mike is someone who truly benefitted from the tribe swap. He bonded with Nick from the Davids, and Natalie is becoming a much more blatant threat than him for the Goliaths. Aside from Angelina, he’s probably the safest one on his tribe.

7. Gabby Pascuzzi- Gabby won that challenge for her team. She did an amazing job, and despite some tears, I think she’s really proving her worth in the game. She also has Christian on her side, and the person targeting her the most (Bi), just quit. She’s fine.

6. John Hennigan- John seems to be tight with Christian and Dan. But he doesn’t seem to be as tight with the women on his tribe, Alison and Gabby. His tribe is pretty stacked, and he’s the strongest member of it. But he needs to make sure he bonds with everyone, and he’ll be golden.

5. Christian Hubicki- Christian had been talking about working with John, and now it’s all coming true. He also has a tight bond with Gabby. And guess what? He’s pretty dang good at puzzles. Christian is set for the long term.

4. Dan Rengering- Idol. Check. Strong tribe. Check. No Kara to distract him. Check.

3. Carl Boudreaux- Carl was one of the most vulnerable people in the game if you had asked me a few days ago. But it seems like he’s the most powerful player at the moment. Not only does he have the new “idol nullifier,” but he’s coming into a tribe of 2 Davids and 2 Goliaths. And even if Elizabeth and Kara team up, he still has Davie and Alec. I think Carl is set for the rest of the pre-merge, and if he holds on to that advantage, he may be set for the merge as well.

2. Angelina Keeley- Angelina is the most vital member of her tribe. Without her, her tribe does not even have a shot at winning a challenge. Getting rid of her would be the most idiotic move in the history of Survivor. She’s going absolutely nowhere.

1. Davie Rickenbacker- I think Davie was smart in not playing his idol, but he could’ve easily been taken out with his idol in pocket. But to have the self-awareness that he has is quite impressive. He was able to keep the numbers on his side, which is pretty spectacular. With the idol, a new ally in Alec, an easy bond to mend with Elizabeth, and a reunion with Carl, it looks like Davie holds all the power. I’ll give him the top spot again.

It’s clear that the Green team is stacked, with John, Alison, Christian, Gabby, and Dan all being strong challenge competitors. As for the other two tribes, I think gaining Carl could give Orange an edge to win a challenge over Purple (but it seems like it’ll be Alec vs. Kara if orange DOES lose). As for Purple, I think it’s obvious that Angelina is the only person doing the purple tribe any good. I just hope that Nick and Mike don’t do anything crazy, and it should be either Lyrsa or Natalie getting the boot. Because of the Goliath number majority, I’ll say Lyrsa gets the boot. But what do I know?

Going Home- Lyrsa Torres
