Top 10 Tuesdays: Top 10 Merge Boots

Apr 11, 2018 by PowerRankings101
imageFor today’s top 10 Tuesdays, I am going to do a simple ranking of the Top 10 Merge Boots of Survivor.

10. Jessica Johnston (Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers)- Jessica was a recent boot, which is why I only have her at number 10. But she got screwed by being guilty by association with her showmance Cole. Cole was a target, but people took out his right hand woman in hopes of taking down that alliance. She was a shocking boot and someone I’d love to see play again.

9. R.C. Saint-Amour (Philippines)- Remember R.C. vs Abi? I was team RC all the way, so she deserves to be on the top 10 list, not for her boot, but because she was an awesome player herself.

8. Jeff Varner (Australia)- The famous peanut butter boot, Varner was eliminated based on previous votes when a deadlock tie occurred. One of the more famous old-school merge boots.

7. Rob Mariano (Marquesas)- Rob became such a character, so to see him go home at the merge was truly a shock, but it led him to a great comeback story across three more seasons when he finally won Redemption Island.

6. James “J.T.” Thomas (Heroes vs. Villains)- Poor J.T. Not the best player on the list, but by far one of the most memorable merge boots for his idol that he gave Russell. Poor J.T.

5. Kass McQuillen (Cambodia)- Kass changed her ways the second time around, and became someone that people actually rooted for. Unfortunately, going back to her evil ways may have screwed Kass in the merge, and she was too threatening that she needed to be taken out.

4. Michelle Schubert (Millennials vs. Gen X)- Michelle was the start of the “let’s throw our vote to someone who no-one will see coming” vote. I was a big fan of Michelle and thought she had some great potential, which is why I have her this high on the list.

3. Erik Cardona (Samoa)- Remember when Foa Foa has only 4 people in the merge and managed to take out Galu one by one by one. Erik was the first one gone, and he is memorable for giving Natalie White the push to win at the end of the game too.

2. Gretchen Cordy (Borneo)- The O.G. Merge Boot, Gretchen was the first ever blindside the game has ever seen, and it changed the course of the game forever.

1. Sarah Lacina (Cagayan)- The most iconic merge boot. Idols were being played all over the place, but it was Kass (our number 5), who flipped her vote to send home Sarah, someone who had great momentum to win the game. Yes, she eventually won Game Changers, but after this shocking blindside.

"Michelle was the start of the “let’s throw our vote to someone who no-one will see coming” vote."

False, it had been a used strategy before.  It's origin was Survivor:Fiji when Stacy came up with the idea to target Edgardo when the Horsemen thought that it would be Mookie or Alex going home.  Great blog tho.
