Top Chef S15 Power Rankings (Top 5)

imageI am super upset that both Joseph and Fatima were eliminated. Joe was becoming one of my favorites, and Fatima was THE favorite to win in my books. I know Fatima never won anything, but she was always serving excellent dishes until the last few challenges. Either way, we have to push forward. Let’s rank the final five.

5. Joe Sasto- Joe has struggled with the same problem all season, and that’s confidence. He is always the most confident guy in the room, and is often oblivious when his dish isn’t good. Joe has had some rocking dishes in the past, but when he fails, he fails hard. One more bad dish and I think Joe is a goner. Tom tried to send him home on the cauliflower quick fire, and again with his mac and cheese bites. I think strike three is gonna be a strikeout for Joe Sasto. Whether he’ll bounce back or not, we’ll see. It’ll all come down to his ego and if he thinks about what he’s cooking.

4. Adrienne Cheatham- Adrienne always seems to end up on the bottom more than she does on the top. But she is never the worst one, always having some redeeming quality that keeps her around. For that, she is in the penultimate slot.

3. Bruce Kalman- Bruce was finally savaged by Padma about always cooking pasta. Like Joe Sasto, I think Bruce only has a few strikes left with pasta dishes. As we saw with his steak, he CAN cook other dishes, so he just needs to stick with those dishes and he’ll be okay.

2. Christopher Scott- Chris bounced back this week in a really great way. On top of the elimination challenge, in one of the most important challenges to Chris’s heart. He got tickets to the Super Bowl where HIS team (The Eagles) would soon win (but he didn’t know that at that time). A precious moment. Still one of the top contenders, especially with Fatima and Joe Flamm gone.

1. Carrie Baird- Joe Sasto said it best…Carrie is the one to beat. The prime takeaway from this episode is that it’s okay to cook simple food as long as its good food. Carrie won the quick fire on a Fancy Toast dish. But why? Because it was a GREAT fancy toast. Tom said it in the elimination challenge. Simple concept is fine, as long as it tastes delicious. What Joe’s mac and cheese, Fatima’s nachos, and Adrienne’s ribs didn’t do was what Carrie has been doing all season. Carrie is probably now my favorite to win, and I’m rooting for her to continue popping out excellent dishes in these challenges.

Carrie and Chris won this past challenge, and I believe it puts them at the top of contention. Bruce is hanging in there too, but needs to make sure he doesn’t cook another pasta. Joe Sasto has been a front runner but has REALLY struggled these past few weeks, and obviously, the judges aren’t being nice when it comes to past performances (Joe Flamm, Fatima, Tanya). Joe seems to be in real danger. There’s also Adrienne, but she seems to be the cat with nine lives, and never seems to be the truly weakest one.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Joe Sasto
